Chapter 2 Rebirth

"ah!"

Jingyao opened her eyes from the bed and looked around in panic.

No zombies!

He touched his body again and found flesh under his hands, not all bones like before.

Jing Yao was panicked for a moment before she realized something was wrong.

This doesn't seem to be the unfinished building from before, but more like... my own room.

Jing Yao looked at the StellaLou placed beside her bed. She had bought this when she went to Disney before.

Looking at the phone on the bedside table, Jing Yao grabbed it.

I turned on the screen and finally saw the date clearly.

October 14, 20XX.

This date...

This was more than a month before the end of the world.

I'm not dead?

And it even goes back to before the end of the world?! !

Jingyao lay on the bed holding her cell phone, thinking about what Mingmin said before she died.

Feeling angry.

Since God has given me a second chance, how could I possibly let that scumbag and that bitch go?

Just wait, I, Jingyao, will become your nightmare in this life.

Suddenly, Jingyao remembered the grandfather Mingmin mentioned.

His grandfather passed away very suddenly in his previous life, and only Chen Lin was by his side.

When she rushed back from abroad, her grandfather's funeral had almost been completed.

Chen Lin said that his grandfather died in a car accident. Even if Jing Yao had doubts, she had no way to investigate. His grandfather had been cremated by Chen Lin long ago, and even the accident report had no flaws.

Shen Lin and the lawyer only handed him a file bag, which contained the property left to him by his grandfather.

Unfortunately, those properties are not worth much money at all in the end times.

Now that I think about it, my grandfather left me not only money, but also other things, including the long sword and dagger.

Thinking of this, Jing Yao's eyes couldn't help but become sharp.

She remembered that her grandfather had the accident around October 24th, so if she went back now, she might be able to prevent it from happening.

But before I go back, I need to remind my grandfather.

Jingyao took out her cell phone and looked up her grandfather's number.

The phone was connected after just a few rings.

"Yaoyao?"

Jing Yao's eyes welled up as she heard the familiar voice coming from the other end of the phone.

My parents died early, and I was raised by my grandparents. A few years ago, my grandmother passed away due to poor health, leaving only the two of us in the family. The bond between us is naturally extraordinary.

"Yaoyao? What's wrong with you? Why aren't you talking?"

Jing Jianguo on the other end of the phone was a little flustered because he couldn't hear Jing Yao's voice.

"I...I'm fine, Grandpa."

Jing Yao came to her senses and comforted her grandfather on the other end of the phone.

"I just missed you."

"Grandpa misses you too, my dear granddaughter. How are you doing abroad alone? Are you being bullied?"

Listening to the concerned voice of the old man on the other end of the phone, Jing Yao wiped the corners of her eyes.

"No, everything is fine here. I just can't see grandpa, and I miss him a little."

"Alas, you little girl, I didn't agree with you studying abroad back then, but you listened to that kid from the Shen family and insisted on going abroad with him. Now, he's graduated and returned home, leaving you abroad. Tell me what's going on!"

When it comes to Jingyao studying abroad, Grandpa Jin is full of complaints.

I don’t know what kind of magic potion that kid from the Shen family fed his daughter.

Jing Yao felt a little wary when her grandfather mentioned Chen Lin.

"Grandpa, Chen Lin... Does Chen Lin often come to our house?"

"That brat, he comes here all the time, saying he's my half-grandson when you're not around. Bah! Why would I care about that idiot when I already have a granddaughter?!"

Listening to Grandpa’s dislike for Chen Lin, Jing Yao couldn’t help laughing out loud.

"But, Yaoyao, do you really want to be with that kid Shen Lin?"

Jing Yao listened to her grandfather's question and then she remembered that her grandfather seemed to have always looked down on Chen Lin. When she was with Shen Lin, her grandfather had tried to dissuade her, but she just didn't want to listen.

Now it seems that I really didn't listen to the advice of the elderly and I am suffering the consequences.

"My relationship with Shen Lin... Let me think about it again."

It was the first time that Jing Jianguo was not refuted by his granddaughter, and he felt a little uncomfortable.

"Yes, yes, yes, think about it carefully, my granddaughter is so beautiful, of course she deserves better!"

"Grandpa, I'm going back home in a few days. You wait for me at home and don't go anywhere!"
