Chapter 9

Chapter 9

The following evening, Su Wanxing brought Nineteen to Mingyue Pavilion. Yao Ji's servants took Su Wanxing directly to Huizhi's room, while Nineteen was left at the door.

As soon as she entered, the melodious sound of a piano drifted over. Su Wanxing sat down lightly at the table. Although she couldn't understand the music, it was very soothing.

The sound of the zither flowed gently from Huizhi's hands like a clear mountain spring, like moonlight spilling onto a lake, each note creating ripples, and time seemed to slow down.

After the music ended, Huizhi slowly came over and sat opposite Su Wanxing.

"Young Master Huizhi truly possesses superb musical skills."

"Miss Su, you flatter me."

Su Wanxing stared intently at Huizhi's composed face, completely mesmerized.

Huizhi felt a little embarrassed by the gaze.

"Miss Su, did you come here tonight to hear Huizhi play the zither or just to chat?"

"Um... are there any other options?"

"Miss Su, how many times do I have to tell you? I only sell my art, not my body."

"ah?"

Why didn't anyone tell me this? I even took a shower and used perfume before coming. Did I come for nothing?

Huizhi looked at Su Wanxing with a hint of disappointment and smiled.

"Miss Su, you shouldn't waste your time and money on me anymore."

"Why?"

"Because I feel that Miss Su seems to have changed somewhat."

Startled by having her secret exposed, Su Wanxing pretended to be calm and asked in return.

"Why does Young Master Huizhi say that?"

"Because I was the one who pushed the young lady down that day."

"Huh? But why did you do that?"

Hui Zhi suddenly moved closer to Su Wanxing, staring intently at her with her dark eyes, which seemed to want to suck Su Wanxing in.

"Because the young lady wanted to forcibly possess me."

This sentence left Su Wanxing speechless.

"I thought you would report me to the authorities or use it to threaten me when you woke up, but you didn't. May I ask why?"

Su Wanxing stepped back a little, putting some distance between herself and Huizhi.

"Um... ever since that incident, I've come to realize that these things can't be forced; it's better to let nature take its course."

Huizhi smiled when she heard this reason for coaxing the child.

"It's good that you think that way, Miss."

Su Wanxing also picked up her teacup and took a sip. The two of them sat there awkwardly without saying a word.

After a while, Huizhi spoke.

"This tea is good, but you'll get tired of drinking it every day."

"I think so too. I'll make new teas in the future, and I'll bring them to you to try when they're ready."

"That would be wonderful. It is a great honor for Huizhi to taste Miss Su's new tea."

"Okay, I'll bring it to you when it's ready."

"No need to trouble Miss Su, just send someone to deliver a message that Huizhi will come to pay a visit."

"Really?"

I never expected that the original owner spent so much money and still couldn't get Huizhi to come, while I can get her for free! If only there were a system for affection, I could know the progress of the romance.

"Naturally, it is true."

"Alright, I'll head back now. Young Master Huizhi, please get some rest as well."

Huizhi nodded gently to Su Wanxing.

Just as Su Wanxing closed the door, Nineteen's voice came from inside.

"Not even half an hour has passed. It seems Miss will have to buy more deer antlers and send them to him."

Su Wanxing felt somewhat embarrassed by the sarcastic remarks, but she couldn't admit defeat verbally.

"What do you know? Young Master Huizhi sells his art, not his body. I'm happy just to chat with him."

After saying that, Su Wanxing stormed downstairs.

As soon as she got downstairs, the lively atmosphere of singing and dancing made Su Wanxing lose her focus, and she tripped and fell down several steps.

"Miss!"

Nineteen immediately squatted down and hugged Su Wanxing.

"Miss, how are you?"

Su Wanxing tried to get up with Nineteen's help, but the pain in her feet wouldn't allow it.

I think I twisted my ankle.

Nineteen picked Su Wanxing up in his arms.

"Miss, hurry up!"

Su Wanxing immediately hugged Shijiu's neck tightly.

As we passed by the guests, we heard a chorus of conversations.

"How come I've never seen this beauty before?"

"The new guy?"

"Next time I come, I want him to hold me like this too."

After leaving Mingyue Pavilion, passersby on the street began to look at them.

Su Wanxing felt a little embarrassed and buried her head in Shijiu's arms.

Warm breaths sprayed incessantly on Nineteen's neck, creating an extremely ambiguous atmosphere between the two.

"Hurry up!"

A soft voice came from beside him, and Nineteen quickened his pace, rushing back to Su Wanxing's room.

Nineteen placed Su Wanxing on the bed, gently took off her shoes, and then, looking at her slightly swollen ankle, immediately went out.

A moment later, Nineteen knelt down in front of Su Wanxing with a lot of things in his hands.

Nineteen picked up a cold towel and applied it to the wound, then took out safflower and crushed it.

How do you know how to do that?

While pounding the medicine, Nineteen answered Su Wanxing's questions.

"These are basic common sense for men. If they don't even know these things, how will they get married?"

Is the term "virtuous wife" a compliment or an insult? If we have to distinguish between them, in this unequal era, it's probably an insult.

After finishing the nineteenth treatment, I took off the towel, then picked up a jar of wine, took a sip and sprayed it on the wound, then evenly applied safflower to my ankle and gently massaged it with my warm and large palms.

Does it hurt?

Su Wanxing shook her head.

It doesn't hurt.

Nineteen smiled helplessly and looked at Su Wanxing.

"How could Miss fall down the stairs? We'll have to carry her every day from now on."

"I...I just didn't mean to."

Nineteen didn't reply, but gently wrapped her foot with gauze to secure it.

"The injury isn't serious; it will be fine after two or three days of rest."

Thank you, Nineteen.

Nineteen glanced at Su Wanxing and said expressionlessly.

"This is what the 19th National Congress should do."

Su Wanxing moved to the side.

Would you like to sit down for a while?

Nineteen obediently sat down next to Su Wanxing.

"Nineteen, what was your name before? I gave you this name, but it sounds a bit casual. Do you want it?"

"No need, the name given by Miss is naturally the best."

"Okay, whatever you like."

"Miss, please get some rest. Nineteen is leaving now."

Nineteen tidied everything up and turned off the lights and closed the door for Su Wanxing.

Nineteen put the remaining herbs in the storeroom, then took the remaining wine to Su Wanxing's door, sat on the steps, and carefully recalled everything that had happened since he came here.

A simple young lady living in such a big house, with only three servants in the mansion. If I could win over Su Wanxing, wouldn't I be able to live a good life?

Nineteen recalled that scene in the warm pavilion.

She was already completely infatuated with him, and if she just let things take their course, she should have succeeded that day. Yet, she failed at the last moment. What woman could resist a man throwing himself into her arms? Could it be that Su Wanxing is truly a gentleman? Ha, what a joke.
