Jiang Xin worked exceptionally hard today. She wiped the floor with great effort and didn't seem tired at all.
As soon as she turned the camera, she saw her mother-in-law clutching her stomach and collapsing onto the sofa. She cried out in alarm, "Mom! Mom! What's wrong?"
Yan Ling rushed over upon hearing the noise and saw that the woman was covered in sweat and said that she had a stomachache. He immediately thought of the discounted food that Jiang Xin had bought that evening.
This woman has lived a life of luxury for years, and her stomach is probably no longer suited to discounted food in supermarkets. He glared at Jiang Xin, the culprit, without leaving a trace, and took out his phone to dial 120.
Jiang Ru was vomiting and had diarrhea, and was completely exhausted. She guessed that she had eaten something unclean to cause this.
Thinking of this, she glared fiercely at Jiang Xin. She had even thought of helping her out, but instead, Jiang Xin fed her unclean food!
"Daughter of an old friend? What a load of rubbish!" She vowed that once she recovered, she would make Jiang Xin know what true pain was!
Jiang Xin watched helplessly as Yan Ling and her mother-in-law got into the ambulance. She returned home dejectedly, her mind replaying Yan Ling's words: that there was no room in the ambulance, that he would take care of her mother-in-law, and that she should go back to sleep.
Although his tone wasn't harsh and his expression didn't change much, Jiang Xin could tell he was angry.
It's wrong to buy discounted food just to save money, but she went through the same thing. She also had diarrhea and felt unwell the first time she ate it, but she just ate more and it got better, right?
This is my mother-in-law's first time eating it, so it's understandable that she has such a strong reaction. She won't react like this again in the future.
The family's situation is not good right now, so it's impossible to eat delicacies every day. My mother-in-law has to adapt to this ordinary life, and I'm doing this for her own good.
Jiang Xin defended herself with a self-righteous attitude.

Jiang Ru lay weakly on the hospital bed, an IV drip hanging above her head. She had just been diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis, and the doctor told her to finish the IV drip before going home.
Yanling went to pay the bill and wasn't in the ward. Jiang Ru blinked her slightly sore eyes. She wanted to go home, not to Yanling's rented room, but to her own home.
She had only been there for two days when Jiang Xin had managed to get her hospitalized. She was ready to give up. Jiang Xin was too destructive; she couldn't stay any longer.
A WeChat notification sound rang out in the quiet ward. Jiang Ru opened her phone with the hand that wasn't pricked by an IV. It was a message from her son. He had sent her several photos of himself with his car and thanked her, Mom.
Jiang Ru was puzzled. What did she mean by thanking Mom? What had she done?
Her son quickly responded, "Mom, I got a promotion today. Thank you for buying me the car."
Before Jiang Ru could speak, her son sent a second voice message: "Mom, did Dad pull strings to get me promoted? Didn't he say I should start from the bottom?"
It was Shu Yuqing! Jiang Ru immediately thought of her; who else could it be?
Jiang Ru replied to her son on WeChat: "I'm glad you like the car. As for the promotion, Mom doesn't know anything about it. You can ask your dad."
After exchanging a few more words with her son, Jiang Ru put down her phone. She knew this was Shu Yuqing's warning to her, telling her to stay at Yanling's house with peace of mind.
She gave a bitter smile, forcing herself to give up the idea of going home. Shu Yuqing really had good methods, using both soft and hard tactics to directly control her lifeline.
She used her son to tell herself that if she wanted her son to be good, he had to listen to her and keep Yanling in check.
If I can't do it myself, then the next thing I'll hear is that my son has lost his job, right?
Yanling, don't blame your mother for being biased. This is all something you and your father owe me!
