Chapter 162 Aunt

Jiang Xin had a good cry in the bathroom, and returned to her workstation with red and swollen eyes.

She noticed that whenever her colleagues accidentally glanced at her, they would avoid eye contact and look away.

Jiang Xin smiled bitterly to herself, realizing that she had gone from being an enviable, privileged young woman to an object of pity.

She considered herself aloof and, while not arrogant, she never took these ordinary colleagues seriously.

If only her mother could forgive her, she couldn't stand the way people looked at her; she hated being looked at with pity and sympathy.

If her mother could forgive her, she wouldn't have to work hard on housework, worry about her daughter's crying, or face the strange looks from others.

Why can't her mother understand her?

Jiang Xin did not go home after get off work. She did not want to go back to take care of her child or do housework.

She wandered aimlessly through the streets, not knowing where else she could go.

Passing by her old favorite restaurant, Jiang Xin was surprised to find that she hadn't eaten out in a long time, and she missed the taste of French food.

But the family is still in debt, and these high-end restaurants are no longer suitable for them.

She slowly moved away from the familiar restaurant, forcing herself to banish the inappropriate thoughts from her mind.

Further ahead is a famous shopping mall in Beijing, where you can buy all the big brands that you can name.

Jiang Xin recalled the scenes when her mother took her shopping. Every time her mother entered the store, the brand would clear the area to ensure that her mother had a comfortable shopping environment.

What was she like back then? She thought those things were just mundane things, trivial trinket that could be taken for granted. As long as she could be with Yanling, she was willing to endure hardship even if it meant eating coarse food.

She was arrogant and thought that love was everything, that love could overcome all difficulties. She even felt sorry for her mother; she simply didn't understand what true beauty in this world was.

Looking back now, the reason she felt superior to her mother was simply because she was spoiled by her parents. Did she really not know the importance of money?

Jiang Xin thought that she knew.

She believed there was no gap or problem between herself and Yanling, and that her parents' comments were not valid. They felt that Yanling could not provide her with a good quality of life. However, she did not know at the time that she would one day be broke.

Without financial support, her relationship with Yanling lost its initial flavor. Yanling became a hands-off manager, while she became a cheap nanny.

Their love was no longer as sweet as it once was, and it became shattered.

And then there's their child, An'an. She feels no maternal love for An'an whatsoever; all she feels is helplessness, compromise, and annoyance.

Jiang Xin was unwilling to accept it. How could the love she had fought against the whole world to obtain be so easily defeated by reality!

She didn't have her mother's contact information, nor did she know where the Ye family had moved to, but she could contact her aunt. Didn't her aunt always like An'an?

It's okay if my aunt takes the child away again.

Once An'an is gone, I'm sure I can get back to my old self.

Jiang Xin confidently dialed her aunt's number, but her aunt's voice on the other end was icy as she asked her what she wanted.

Jiang Xin quickly told her aunt about her idea, thinking that her aunt would be overjoyed and immediately agree to take the child away.

But her aunt's words were like a bucket of cold water poured on her.

"Jiang Xin, don't blame me for being blunt. I'm not your nanny, and I don't have time to take care of the child. Didn't you choose to take care of the child yourself? Now that you don't want to, you think you can just call me and ask me to pick him up?"

“Aunt, I acted impulsively that day. I shouldn’t have been so reckless. An’an doesn’t know me at all, and she doesn’t listen to me at all. I know you like An’an, and I promise I won’t bring up the matter of bringing her home again.”

“Jiang Xin, this world doesn’t revolve around you. I don’t have to do what you think. An’an is your child, and I wouldn’t dare to delay your family reunion.”

"Aunt, An'an misses you very much. She wants to live with you. Please come and take her away!"

"If there's nothing else, I'm hanging up now. Don't mention this to me again."

The beeping sound came, and Jiang Xin felt as if she had fallen into an ice cave.

Even her aunt won't help her, what should she do?
