Chapter 173 Misunderstanding

After the lawyer left, Jiang Ru and the nanny brought An'an back. It wasn't good for the child to stay at home all day, so they would take An'an out for a walk every afternoon.

Before they returned, Yanling locked himself in his room and wouldn't come out. He was thinking about why Jiang Xin in this world was so different from her in the other world.

In that world, Jiang Xin was devoted to him, even willing to die for him. But the Jiang Xin in this world was foolish and harbored disloyalty towards him, which was what Yan Ling found most unbearable.

What he didn't know was that Jiang Xin had actually come from his world. She hadn't changed; she just hadn't benefited from the Ye family's influence here, and was gradually revealing various flaws.

Jiang Xin has always been a selfish person. She is willing to give everything for Yan Ling, but she is not willing to give to him unconditionally forever.

The reason why he and Jiang Xin were able to be loving and sweet without any conflicts in that world was because Yan Ling gained tremendous benefits through Jiang Xin. How could there be any disagreements or trivialities in their lives between them?

Jiang Xin can live an ordinary life for a while, which is a novel experience for her, but she can't live an ordinary life forever; she can't do it.

He shifted all the blame onto Jiang Xin, completely forgetting his own current situation.

He also forgot the devastating power of the saying, "When poverty knocks at the door, love flies out the window."

Jiang Xin has no financial support from the Ye family, no money or background, and Yan Ling is not working. The burden of the family rests entirely on her shoulders. Not only does she have to earn money to support the family, but she also has to do all kinds of housework and take care of the family after get off work.

She only wanted Yanling to help her with some housework to the best of his ability, which made Yanling harbor evil intentions towards her.

Yanling is even more selfish and ruthless than Jiang Xin.

Yan Ling sat in the dark room for a long time, thinking about how to punish Jiang Xin. When he heard her voice in the living room, he opened the door and called Jiang Xin into the room.

"What's wrong? I haven't cooked yet."

Jiang Xin was a little curious. He knew she had to cook, so he rarely talked to her at this time.

Yan Ling scrutinized Jiang Xin meticulously, making her heart pound. What did he mean by calling her in but not saying anything? Did he know about the house?

Jiang Xin felt uneasy. She hadn't meant to hide it from Yan Ling; he really wasn't suited to handle money, and their family wasn't well-off, so they didn't have any extra money for him to squander.

When Yanling saw that she was avoiding his gaze, her eyes were wandering, and her expression was stiff and unnatural, he thought she was feeling guilty.

He became even more certain that she intended to send him to jail so that she could completely get rid of him and eliminate all potential threats.

He was reflecting on whether he was too narrow-minded yesterday, wanting to ruin her over such a small thing.

Looking at myself now, I realize I'm no match for that vicious woman, Jiang Xin. She did things that betrayed him, yet she could still play the role of a good wife, a good mother, and a good daughter-in-law at home as if nothing had happened.

He underestimated Jiang Xin.

Yanling smiled in relief: "It's nothing, I just missed you a lot today. Go ahead and get busy."

His smile, however, made Jiang Xin feel uneasy. She asked uncertainly, "Have you heard anything lately?"

"What is it? Are you hiding something from me?"

Jiang Xin denied it repeatedly. Fearing that Yan Ling would press her for answers, she quickly made an excuse to cook and ran out of the room.

Little did she know that her actions only deepened Yanling's misunderstanding, making him think she was feeling guilty.

That's why I don't dare to talk to myself.

Jiang Xin was unaware that because of her concealment, the person she loved most had already harbored ill intentions towards her and was plotting how to deal with her.
