Chapter 194 Extra Chapter: Jiang Xin IV

Jiang Xin sat in the car, lost in thought, wondering if her parents in this life would be disappointed in her, and what her relationship with her brother was like now.

Just thinking about the vague feelings she and Ye Beichen had for each other made Jiang Xin's scalp tingle, and she felt so embarrassed that she wanted to buy a wig to cover her face.

What sins did Jiang Xin commit to do something so outrageous? She even proudly tells herself that her brother won't find a girlfriend or date because of her.

Is this something to brag about? Is she born without a sense of shame?

The car quickly drove into the Ye family villa. Jiang Xin got out of the car with her schoolbag on her back and stood hesitantly in front of the gate. She hadn't seen her parents and brother for a long time, and she couldn't help but feel a little apprehensive.

Suddenly, the door in front of her was opened, and Shu Yuqing stood in front of the door and said to her, "Why aren't you going home? What are you doing standing at the door?"

The moment Jiang Xin saw her mother, all her trepidation, anxiety, and self-doubt vanished. She gazed at her mother greedily, threw herself into her arms, and called out "Mom!" with a heart full of grievance.

Shu Yuqing was caught off guard by her daughter's sudden hug. She stiffened for a moment before relaxing, patting Jiang Xin's back, and asked in a low voice, "Xin Xin, what's wrong? Did someone bully you?"

Jiang Xin nestled in her arms and whispered like a kitten, "Mom, I'm fine. I just suddenly miss you and Dad."

She tried her best to hide her excitement. Her mother actually hugged her, and her mother didn't coldly push her away!

It took Jiang Xin a while to calm down. She straightened up, smiled shyly, and then took her mother's arm and went inside.

Upon entering the house, Jiang Xin found only her and her mother inside. She wondered where her father and brother were.

Seemingly noticing the question in her eyes, Shu Yuqing took the initiative to answer her: "Your father is still at the company, and your brother has something to do today, so he won't be coming back."

After saying that, he stared intently at her, wanting to see how his daughter would react.

Jiang Xin's expression remained unchanged, and she simply said "Oh".

Then he said to his mother, "Mom, I'm going to change my clothes first."

Back in her room, Jiang Xin realized she had forgotten something important: Where was her sister? Where was Mingyue?

If the parents in this world didn't adopt their younger sister, is she still in an orphanage? Or was she adopted by another family?

It seems I'll have to go to the orphanage tomorrow to inquire about my sister.

She was immature back then, didn't set a good example, and didn't fulfill her duties as an older sister. This time, she will be a qualified and good older sister.

Shu Yuqing watched her daughter go upstairs, secretly wondering to herself, "Could it be that I'm being paranoid and making a mistake? Have Xin Xin and Bei Chen not developed feelings for each other?"

"But at their age, they are going through the turbulent period of adolescence. Regardless of whether it has happened or not, we cannot allow the two siblings to show even the slightest sign of it."

She made up her mind that she would never allow such a thing to happen in her family.

Seeing that her daughter hadn't come downstairs after returning to her room, Shu Yuqing brought some cut fruit and knocked on her door.

Jiang Xin was doing math problems, and there was one she couldn't solve. She had been scratching her head the whole time. What Shu Yuqing saw was her daughter with messy, unkempt hair opening the door for her.

She was a little surprised. Jiang Xin usually paid great attention to her image and never showed her bad side to others. Why had she given up on image management now?

Shu Yuqing placed the fruit plate on the desk and noticed the textbooks scattered haphazardly. She asked with concern, "How are the lessons? Are you keeping up?"

Jiang Xin shook her head, her hair swaying like seaweed as she looked at her head: "Mom, I've realized I'm so stupid, I can't do so many of the questions."

Shu Yuqing tried her best to control her restless hands, telling herself that this was her daughter, and that she needed her help with a problem. She shouldn't touch her hair now.

She said gently, "Mom will find you a tutor tomorrow. It's okay, take your time if you don't know how."

After saying that, she left in a hurry, afraid that if she stayed any longer, she would be unable to resist fixing her head.

Jiang Xin spent the afternoon doing homework in her room. When she went downstairs for dinner, she found that her father and brother had returned.

She keenly sensed that her mother was not in a good mood. She glanced up at her brother and found that he was also secretly watching her. She immediately understood why her mother was unhappy.

Jiang Xin screamed in her heart, "Wake up! I'm your sister!"

That Jiang Xin is a real jerk; look how awkward she's made the atmosphere at home!

Now that she's taken over this mess, she can only pretend to be nonchalant and greet her father and brother.

Dinner was exquisite and delicious. Jiang Xin almost cried while eating. My God, how long had it been since she had eaten such delicious food!

Sure enough, there's a reason why it's expensive. Screw noodles, screw home-cooked dishes!

From now on, she will only eat home-cooked meals. If anyone tells her that noodles are delicious, she will slap them across the face with the sole of her shoe!

After dinner, the family of four sat together and chatted. Ye Boxian and Shu Yuqing mainly asked their daughter if she was adapting well to the new school, while Ye Beichen sat to the side, gazing at her intently.

Jiang Xin was telling her parents about the fun things that happened at school when Ye Beichen's gaze was so intense that she couldn't ignore it even if she wanted to.

"My brother, what are you doing...?"

Jiang Xin wailed inwardly, "No, I have to make my brother give up this idea as soon as possible!"

If this continues, she won't be able to look him in the eye anymore!

"Xin Xin, let Mom find you a college student to tutor you tomorrow."

Before Jiang Xin could speak, Shu Yuqing asked a probing question, and Ye Beichen interjected, "Does your sister need tutoring? I can help her with that."
