Chapter 231 Extra Chapter: Jiang Xin Forty-One

Jiang Xin ran into Yan Ling in the cafeteria. Unlike when she first met him, when he was surrounded by a large entourage, he was now all alone, no longer the imposing figure he had been at their first meeting.

But his temper hadn't changed at all. He stopped Jiang Xin and said in a commanding tone, "I'll treat you to dinner on Friday."

Jiang Xin was about to scold him for being shameless when she remembered Zhang Dan's instructions. She shouted angrily, "You're really annoying! Do we even know each other? Why do you keep coming to see me?"

"I wanted to invite you to dinner because I thought you were making great progress in your studies and I wanted to ask you for your study tips. Since you don't want to, that's fine. Someone like you who discriminates against students who are not good at studying has the nerve to be the class monitor!"

Jiang Xin suppressed a twitching smile and said, "Okay, tell me the time and place, and I'll go."

The excuse He Wan taught him was really effective, and Yan Ling couldn't help but exclaim in his heart that it was divine.

Seeing his smug expression, Jiang Xin couldn't help but shake her head. Yan Ling was being far too overtly emotional. She had only agreed to the appointment; she hadn't even accomplished anything yet, and he already thought he had won?

Just by listening to what he just said, it was clear that he couldn't have come up with it. It was obvious that He Wan was in a great hurry, otherwise why would she have approached someone as arrogant as Yan Ling?

Back in the classroom, Jiang Xin pulled out the number from yesterday and dialed it: "The fish has taken the bait. Write down the address."

Modern mobile phones don't have call recording functions, so sending text messages leaves evidence; making a phone call is safer.

Jiang Xin is no naive girl; she's just as shrewd as Zhang Dan. However, she's currently busy with her studies and doesn't want to be distracted by dealing with Yan Ling. Since someone wants to rid the world of this scourge, she's naturally happy to lend a hand.

Zhang Dan hung up the phone, a wicked smile playing on her lips: "Looks like my sister is quite something too."

She took out another phone and sent a text message to the number in her contacts, asking him to prepare some medicine for her. Zhang Dan thought to herself, "Sleeping pills alone are not enough; I have to add something extra for them."

Friday arrived quickly, and Zhang Dan, who had taken two days off in advance, went to the restaurant and told the manager that she wanted to write an essay about service staff and hoped that the manager could let her personally experience the hard work of the waiters.

The manager thought she was a good student who loved to study, so he agreed to let her work at the store for a day.

Zhang Dan changed into a waitress's uniform, put on a mask, and carried the cold dishes to the private room that Yan Ling had reserved.

As soon as I entered the private room, I saw Yanling and the female college student sitting very close to each other, whispering to each other.

After setting the tray down and leaving the private room, she texted Jiang Xin: "Sister, call Yanling again in half an hour and tell him you can't come."

As for why it's half an hour later, it's because if we wait another half hour, almost all the dishes will be served, and these two people will definitely be reluctant to leave just like that. They will definitely eat the food before leaving.

If Jiang Xin didn't inform Yan Ling, she worried that those two idiots would keep waiting, and her medicine would be wasted.

Zhang Dan returned to the kitchen with light steps to continue serving dishes. She had a sweet tongue and would greet everyone in the restaurant, whether they were uncles, aunts, brothers, or sisters, with enthusiasm and politeness.

Jiang Xin received the message but did not reply. At this moment, she was full of curiosity about Zhang Dan. Logically speaking, she should not be an unknown person. Why had she never heard of her name in her previous life?

She was certain that Zhang Dan was at the place where Yan Ling had invited her to dinner, but she didn't know what role Zhang Dan was playing.

Half an hour later, Jiang Xin called Yan Ling using the phone number provided by Zhang Dan. She simply said, "I have something to do right now and can't come."

He then abruptly hung up the phone, giving Yanling no chance to speak.

Standing at the door of the private room, Zhang Dan heard Yan Ling's roar coming from inside. She covered her mouth and chuckled to herself, when suddenly she heard the sound of dishes breaking.

"Taking their anger out on the restaurant's tableware is incredibly rude. The waiters work so hard cleaning it; these two deserve to die."

Zhang Dan hardened her heart, and the smile on her face disappeared.
