Chapter 98 The World Spins

My uncle walked out of the restaurant in a daze; he had to go back to work that afternoon.

He was so distracted on his way to work that he didn't pay any attention to where he was going. As a result, he was hit by a car while crossing the street and ended up in the hospital.

When my aunt received the call from the hospital, she was terrified, thinking that my uncle was in critical condition!

Jiang Xin noticed that her aunt was not in a good state, so she insisted that she stay at home and wait for news, while she went to the hospital to see her uncle.

When they arrived at the hospital, they learned that his uncle only had minor abrasions, which he had sustained by falling to the ground; the car hadn't even touched him.

Upon learning it was a false alarm, Jiang Xin breathed a sigh of relief and immediately called her aunt to tell her the news, assuring her not to worry, that her uncle was alright, and that she would go home with him later.

Jiang Wei had just experienced a brush with death, and coupled with what happened to Yan Ling, he was very depressed.

Jiang Xin saw her uncle sitting on the hospital bed, staring blankly out the window, his face filled with despair.

She quietly left and went to find her uncle's attending physician to inquire about the situation.

The doctor told her that her uncle had no physical injuries, but his current condition was likely due to a major psychological trauma.

He told the family to pay close attention to the patient's condition, to guide the patient to be positive and cheerful, and not to let him wallow in negative and pessimistic emotions.

Jiang Xin thanked the doctor and recalled her uncle's recent condition with a heart full of doubts.

My uncle has always had a good attitude and was in a good mood, so why did he suddenly become pessimistic today?

Could it be that something happened to him today?

Remembering the doctor's advice, Jiang Xin put aside her worries and walked up to her uncle with a smile to ask him if he was feeling unwell.

When the uncle saw Jiang Xin, he looked like he had seen a ghost. His eyes darted around, and he didn't dare to look at her. He was in a panic and tried to find an excuse to leave the ward.

He really didn't know how to face Jiang Xin...

He knew that Jiang Xin had bought the house outright, and he also knew that Jiang Xin had given Yan Ling a lot of money from the time he was scammed until now, when Yan Ling opened the restaurant.

Those people wanting to take away the house and shop is tantamount to taking away Jiang Xin's money, which is several million!

Millions are an astronomical figure for their family; they and their spouse could never earn that much money in their entire lives.

His nephew easily squandered millions...

I am so ashamed to face my nephew's wife!

Jiang Xin was wondering if her uncle had encountered some difficulties when she noticed that he was looking at her with a guilty expression.

This left Jiang Xin even more confused. What was wrong with her uncle?

Why is he looking at me with that expression? Could it be that Yanling did something to wrong her?

The examination report came back, and apart from minor abrasions, my uncle was completely unharmed.

The driver was also at the hospital, and he finally breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the test results.

He initially thought the old man was trying to scam him, otherwise why would he have fallen right in front of his car?

But he wasn't worried. There were cameras everywhere on the road, and he also had a dashcam, so he wasn't afraid at all!

To everyone's surprise, the old man remained silent, only shedding tears in silence, and wouldn't answer any questions asked of him.

This has completely baffled the driver!

If it were someone trying to scam someone, they would have jumped up and demanded money by now, but this old man just cried and didn't say anything.

After dealing with the traffic police, he kindly took the person to the hospital for a check-up, fearing that the person might try to extort money from him.

Fortunately, he is alright now, so he can leave in peace.

Jiang Xin and her uncle returned home, each with their own thoughts on their own. As soon as her uncle entered the door, he gave her a wink, signaling her to come out.

Auntie nodded knowingly and subtly asked Jiang Xin to go check on the child, as she was going out to buy groceries.

Jiang Xin did not suspect her aunt's actions and told her to go out without worry, as she would watch the house.

As usual, my aunt calmly carried the basket and walked out.

After a while, my uncle went out under the pretext of going to smoke.

The uncle saw his wife's figure at the street corner, and he walked over briskly and pulled his aunt to the small park in the street.

Auntie looked bewildered. What was wrong with the old man today? Why was he in such a hurry? Had something terrible happened?

Upon thinking of this, the relaxed expression on her aunt's face vanished completely, and she followed her husband to the small park with a pounding heart.

After looking around and finding no one nearby, the uncle hurriedly said, "Yanling has gotten into trouble!"

The first sentence left my aunt dizzy and confused. She asked in a panic, "What happened? What trouble have you gotten yourself into?"

"He borrowed a lot of money! Those debt collectors are even coming to the restaurant to collect! I happened to run into them today; they said Yanling has already given them the restaurant to settle the debt, and there's more..."

The uncle's voice gradually faded, and he found it difficult to utter the rest of his words.

"What else? Stop beating around the bush, just say it!"

Auntie seemed to have guessed the answer, but she couldn't believe it.

Her uncle avoided her gaze, stammering, "And...and...the apartment Xin Xin bought was also..."

It was also used to pay off debts.

My aunt felt dizzy and her body fell straight backward.
