Chapter 5 Price Anchoring

At this moment, Zhao Xuehui was also awakened and asked loudly from the bedroom, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, just some rats." In the darkness, Zhao Nianmeng clutched her chest, her voice slightly panicked as she tried to cover it up before whispering to Jiang Sheng, "Get out!"

Jiang Sheng nodded like a chick pecking at rice, then realized he couldn't see anything here and whispered, "I'll go out now!"

He then asked with concern, "Sister, did you hurt yourself anywhere?"

Zhao Nianmeng blushed in the darkness and gritted her teeth, saying, "Get out!"

Jiang Sheng rushed out of the bathroom, silently pondering a question: Where exactly did he touch the older sister just now to elicit such a strong reaction?

The feel of that touch... Jiang Sheng recalled it with a lewd grin, then quickly shook his head, deciding to keep it to himself, or he'd be in danger.

In the bathroom, Zhao Nianmeng touched her rounded breasts and hissed softly.

"That little bastard really went all out!"

With a face flushed with embarrassment and anger, he spat out a mouthful of saliva.

Then something else came to mind.

Just now, while I was randomly hitting and pounding in the dark, I think I touched my younger brother's chest.

It's rock hard!

My little brother seems to have grown up!

........

The next day, Zhao Nianmeng went out before dawn.

After Jiang Sheng got up, he and his second sister sat at the dining table and looked at each other.

"Second sister, didn't eldest sister leave breakfast?"

Isn't it obvious?

"oh..."

Jiang Sheng lowered his head.

Strictly speaking, the second sister was implicated because of her own actions.

Jiang Sheng bought soy milk and fried dough sticks downstairs. After the two had breakfast, his second sister went to work.

He then continued working on what he hadn't finished yesterday without stopping.

Now, his eldest and second eldest sisters have both sounded the alarm, and he is in a very tight timeframe.

Jiang Sheng rode his bike to the wholesale market and headed straight for the stores he had scouted out the day before.

"Boss, how much is this wholesale?"

"5 points a pair."

"Give me a starting price first thing in the morning."

"4 points and 5 cents."

"What about large quantities?"

"4 points for more than 30 pairs".

"OK."

Before the boss could even smile, Jiang Sheng added, "I'll go check out other places."

The boss threw the socks back in his hand with a bad attitude.

Jiang Sheng went back and forth between stores, haggling over prices, even using other stores' quotes to pressure one store into lowering the other.

Jiang Shengcai only chose the shop with the lowest initial quote after all the shop owners were driven to the point of wanting to hit him.

"I mean, aren't you being a bit unmanly? It's just a few pairs of socks, is it really necessary to keep going back and forth like this?"

The pretty proprietress saw Jiang Sheng return and said in an annoyed tone.

"Making money? It's not shameful at all," Jiang Sheng smiled slightly.

Faced with Jiang Sheng's honesty, the shop owner lost her temper and said, "Are you sure you want to buy from me?"

"Um."

"How much? Thirty?"

Small vendors usually order around thirty pairs at a time.

Although socks are a necessity, there are many sellers, so you usually don't sell many.

Secondly, if the summer styles don't sell out now, they'll be outdated by the time they're sold the following year, making it easy to end up with unsold stock.

"Wait a minute, don't rush," Jiang Sheng stopped the proprietress, holding up one finger and saying, "I want this price, can you make it cheaper?"

"One hundred pairs? I'll give you a discount of two cents."

The proprietress was somewhat satisfied; the young man's demand was quite high, so all her efforts in persuading him were worthwhile.

"It's not one hundred pairs, it's one hundred yuan," Jiang Sheng shook his head, correcting the proprietress.

"How much? One hundred yuan?!" the proprietress exclaimed in surprise.

These days, the largest denomination of RMB is only ten yuan. If someone can take out a hundred yuan to buy goods, they must be a boss, right?

The proprietress looked Jiang Sheng up and down; this young man had just said he was planning to set up a stall to sell things.

"Brother, if you really want to buy at this price, I'll give you my purchase price directly. But I have to advise you, socks aren't easy to sell, so don't end up with unsold stock."

The proprietress's earnest words touched Jiang Sheng; there were no business people like her in later generations.

He didn't explain much.

Finally, the two agreed on a price of 2 cents.

While the proprietress was packing the socks, Jiang Sheng pointed to the individually wrapped socks hanging up and asked, "How much are these?"

The proprietress looked up and replied, "These are all branded products, and the prices vary depending on the brand. If you want them, I'll give them to you at cost price."

Jiang Sheng nodded, and finally took out another 50 yuan, buying various styles from different brands at very low prices.

In the end, they packed up into several full bags, which definitely wouldn't fit on the bicycle.

"I'll hire a car to deliver it to you!" The landlady generously helped resolve your worries.

Jiang Sheng nodded gratefully; he hadn't expected to be able to buy so much for 150 yuan.

Even after Jiang Sheng paid each bill, the proprietress was still somewhat incredulous.

This young man actually spent so much money on socks. Could he be some rich kid here to experience life?

Jiang Sheng first bought some items from the stall, and then led the tricycle hired by the stall owner toward People's Square.

"Brother, come again next time, and I'll give you the lowest price!"

The proprietress, seeing them off at the door, called out loudly with reluctance.

Upon arriving at People's Square, Jiang Sheng and the tricycle driver unloaded the goods together after selecting a spot between two trees.

Then they set up the stall, hanging branded socks on top and neatly stacking ordinary socks below.

Then a huge banner was hung on the two trees.
