Xuan Le was reading in the study. When he heard the pharmacist asking to see him, he nodded and said, "Let him in." He knew very well whether the medicine was really effective.
"Greetings, Your Highness!" The pharmacist walked in with a bowl of medicine. The fragrance of the medicine immediately filled the entire study, making people feel refreshed when they smelled it.
Xuan Le nodded and looked at the medicine in the pharmacist's hand. "Is this the medicine on the prescription?"
"Yes," the pharmacist nodded. He always prepared the medicine according to the prescription.
"Put the medicine here." Xuan Le pointed to the desk.
The pharmacist nodded, walked forward and placed the medicine on the table.
"Continue to bring me the medicine tomorrow. You can go down." Xuan Le waved to the pharmacist.
"Yes." The pharmacist bent down and retreated.
Xuan Le put down the book in his hand and looked at the bowl of steaming medicine on the desk, wondering who to let try it.
After a long while, he raised his head and shouted to the outside of the door: "Someone come!"
The guard came in quickly.
"Take this bowl of medicine and follow me to Xuan Tong." Xuan Le pointed to the bowl of medicine on the desk.
"Yes!" The guard stepped forward, picked up the bowl of medicine and followed Xuan Le.
Xuan Tong was sitting beside the bed, staring blankly at a man lying there. She had gone horseback riding to the royal estate that day and had found him unconscious on the hillside. The guards had mistaken him for an assassin and stabbed him again. If she hadn't intervened quickly, he would be dead now.
When she first laid eyes on his face, her heart was captivated. It was the first time she'd seen a man more handsome than her brother. Of course, good looks were secondary; the most important thing was the aura he exuded from within. Even with his eyes closed, he still gave off a sense of superiority. She was certain he was no ordinary person.
"Princess! The prince is here." The maid's report came from outside the door.
Xuan Tong came back to his senses, reluctantly withdrew his gaze, stood up and went out to greet him.
"Brother, why are you here?" Xuan Tong walked towards Xuan Le happily.
"I heard that you picked up a man." Xuan Le turned his head to look at the inner room.
Xuan Tong blushed, "Brother, do you have something to ask me?" Originally, her father wanted to put that man in the Sky Prison, but after she begged for a long time, her father agreed to hand the man over to her.
Xuan Le smiled. "I just had the pharmacist make some medicine. I heard it's very good for injuries, so I brought it to you." He didn't know if the medicine was truly as effective as the prescription said. He just wanted to test it on someone. As long as the kid didn't die after taking it, it would be fine.
Xuan Tong looked at Xuan Le in surprise. What happened to her brother? Why did he think of sending medicine?
Feeling a little embarrassed by Xuan Tong's gaze, Xuan Le cleared his throat and said, "Feed it to him. The medicine won't be effective if it gets cold."
Xuan Tong nodded, walked forward, took the medicine from the guard, and walked towards the inner room. She had been feeding the medicine for the past two days, and she was worried about others feeding her.
Xuan Le thought about it and followed. He had never met that person before, and he wanted to know what charm that person had that could make Xuan Tong put aside her status as a princess and take care of him personally.
Xuan Tong walked to the bedside and placed the bowl of medicine on the bedside table. She reached out to help the unconscious man up, placed a pillow behind him, then picked up the bowl of medicine and carefully fed him. She and her brother grew up together, and she knew him well. He always did things above board and would not have tampered with the medicine.
