Chapter 210 Mother and Daughter

Zhan Yihan sprinted through the forest, his eagle-like eyes observing his surroundings. This week, he had already captured most of the opposing team's soldiers. Now, the only thing missing was the company commander. If he could find him, this combat exercise would be over.

Zhan Yihan suddenly stopped, rolled over to avoid the bullet, and raised his gun to shoot in the direction the bullet came from.

A muffled groan sounded from the place where the bullet was fired. Zhan Yihan, like a cheetah, quickly came to the place where the opponent was hiding and subdued him with a grappling move.

"It's boring. You always win every year. Next time we're training, I'm switching teams," Fang Qiming said gloomily, looking at the armband Zhan Yihan had ripped off. His team, like Zhan Yihan's, belonged to the special forces. Previously, Zhan Yihan's strength was comparable to his, but during this training exercise, he realized that Zhan Yihan's strength had improved significantly. To prevent the training from ending too quickly, he had no choice but to hide and wait for an opportunity to strike back.

Zhan Yihan put Fang Qiming's armband on his arm, reached out to pull Fang Qiming up from the ground, put his hand on his shoulder with a smile, and said, "Let's go back." He won this time, and with the reward from the last mission, he could apply for three days of vacation.

Thinking of Su Jinyue, a gentle smile appeared in his eyes. What is she doing now?

Su Jinyue and Qian Moli walked side by side on the school's boulevard.

"Su Jinyue, I'm so sorry about that night!" Qian Moli looked at Su Jinyue apologetically. She had been wanting to say sorry to Su Jinyue all day. Su Jinyue had helped her so much, yet she didn't even bother to treat her to a bowl of noodles and still let her suffer.

Su Jinyue smiled and shook her head, "It's not a big deal, don't take it to heart. But you, how is that job going?" She had already seen the situation at Qian Moli's family. If Qian Moli lost her job, her life at home would probably be even more difficult.

"I went to the restaurant yesterday, and they didn't fire me. They even gave me a raise," Qian Moli said. She had assumed she'd been fired, but she hadn't expected this outcome. However, she knew it was definitely because of Su Jinyue.

"That's good." Su Jinyue nodded.

"Su Jinyue, thank you!" Qian Moli looked at Su Jinyue gratefully.

"Why are you thanking me?" Su Jinyue asked puzzledly.

"If you hadn't helped me that day, I really don't know what would have happened." Qian Moli said. She would keep this gratitude in her heart, and no matter when Su Jinyue needed her, she would not hesitate to say a word.

Su Jinyue smiled and said, "I would help anyone else as well. Do you want to go home or to the restaurant now?"

"Go home first," Qian Moli said. Her mother, noticing the eggs and noodles at home, had told her to go home after school for the next two days, cook them and take them to the hospital, and then go back to the restaurant to wash dishes. Thinking of those eggs and noodles, she felt a surge of guilt again.

Su Jinyue returned home and saw Su Yanyue and Su Yanxi busy in the kitchen. She walked in and said, "Big brother! Second brother!"

"You're back! We're having hotpot today. Come and see if these dishes are enough?" Su Yanyue was washing the cabbage while Su Yanxi was preparing the base for the pot. They had been thinking about hotpot since their last visit to Yuncheng, and since they had some free time today, they decided to have a hotpot meal.

Su Jinyue walked forward and took a look at the dishes they had prepared. "How can the three of us eat so many dishes?"

"You've been tired these past two days because of the store's work. You need to eat more to replenish your energy." Su Yanyue said with a smile.

"Okay! I'll help you." Su Jinyue smiled, rolled up her sleeves and stepped forward to help.

"Is anyone home?" There was a knock at the door outside.

"I'll go take a look." Su Jinyue stopped trying to help, put down her sleeves, and walked out.

When I opened the door, I saw a woman with a haggard look standing outside. She was holding a teenage girl's hand, and their clothes were full of patches.

"Who are you looking for?" Su Jinyue asked.

"I'm looking for my husband. He lives here." The woman took out a letter from her pocket and handed it to Su Jinyue. "Look at the address above. It's here."

Su Jinyue didn't take the letter. "We just bought this house. The person you are looking for is not here."

"I'm not wrong. This is the address he gave me. Let me go in and take a look." The woman said as she was about to break into Su Jinyue's house.

Twelve years ago, her husband was transferred to their village as an educated youth. She fell in love with him at first sight, and they later held their wedding in the countryside. However, not long after the child was born, her husband's parents used their connections to transfer her husband back to the capital.

When he left, he said he would come to pick her and her daughter up, but apart from this initial letter, she never received another letter from her husband. This time, she finally managed to scrape together the money to come to the capital and came here according to the address on the letter.

"What happened?" Su Yanyue heard the noise and came out.

"She said the house belongs to her husband and she came to find her husband." Su Jinyue pointed at the mother and daughter who had stopped.

"Auntie, we just bought this house. Your husband is really not here. Why don't you go to the police station and ask?" Su Yanyue looked at the woman and said.

The woman sat on the ground and burst into tears. When she heard Su Jinyue say that she had just bought the house, she knew she would never find her husband again. But she really didn't give up. She had been married to him for so many years and had never even set foot in his house. She really doubted whether she was his wife? Or did he really consider her his wife?

"Mom, don't cry." The girl went forward, hugged her mother and patted her back gently.

"Girl, what should we do? Your father is nowhere to be found, and we have run out of money." The woman cried and hugged her daughter tightly. She was fine, but the girl was still so young, and she couldn't let her suffer from hunger and cold with her.

"Mom, we can go find a job. I heard that there are jobs everywhere in Beijing. As long as we find a job, we can have enough food to eat and a place to live." The girl took the woman's hand and smiled at Su Jinyue and Su Yanyue, "Mom, let's go." In fact, she also wanted to go in and see where her father lived, but the house already belonged to someone else.

Su Jinyue looked at the mother and daughter, her nose feeling a little sour, "Wait a minute!"

The mother and daughter stopped and looked at Su Jinyue in confusion.

Su Jinyue walked forward, took out a hundred yuan and handed it to them, "Keep this money."
