Chapter 586 All Good Things Must End

In the dim light, the street is still bustling with activity. The delivery guy rides his bicycle, weaving through the crowd, leaving behind only a string of crisp bicycle bells.

Su Jinyue and Wei Qingyun strolled along the streets of Chinatown, heading towards the restaurant where Wei Qingyun often delivered takeout.

"Uncle Yong and his family have always taken good care of me over the years. If it weren't for them, my life would have been much harder," Wei Qingyun said. He had come to this foreign country with a dream in his heart, but he had never imagined that life here would be even more difficult than he had imagined.

Su Jinyue nodded slightly, quietly listening to Wei Qingyun's story. Even in a foreign country, life was difficult at first. After all, it was a place he was unfamiliar with, with no one to rely on. He had to endure all the hardships and even the illnesses on his own.

As they were talking, the two had already walked into Uncle Yong's restaurant. The restaurant was bustling with activity, with guests eating, drinking, and talking and laughing loudly.

"Xiao Wei, you've come just in time. We have two takeout orders waiting to be delivered." Uncle Yong said when he saw Wei Qingyun coming in. The business in the restaurant became busier as the evening went on.

Wei Qingyun moved his lips and swallowed the words that were about to come out of his mouth. "Okay." He glanced at Su Jinyue apologetically and walked over to confirm the takeout order with Uncle Yong. The store was too busy right now. If he said he didn't want to do it now, there would be no one to deliver the takeout. Uncle Yong had been so good to him over the years, how could he do such a heartless and ungrateful thing.

Su Jinyue smiled and walked to an empty table and sat down. She knew Wei Qingyun's personality very well. If he told Uncle Yong that he was here to tell him that he would no longer deliver food, then he wouldn't be Wei Qingyun.

"Aren't you the girl from that day? Do you know Brother Qingyun?" The short-haired girl saw Su Jinyue approaching. She had a deep impression of Su Jinyue. That day, when Brother Qingyun was chased out by two American youths, Su Jinyue followed him out. She had originally wanted to go with them to see what was going on. After all, Brother Qingyun was alone and it would be difficult for him to deal with two American youths. She might be able to help if she went along. But the store was busy at the time, and she had only taken two steps when her father called her back.

Su Jinyue nodded, "Just like that day, give me a pot of tea."

"Okay." The short-haired girl responded and went to the kitchen to bring over a pot of tea.

"Thank you!" Su Jinyue took the teapot and teacup from the short-haired girl and poured herself a cup.

The girl with short hair looked around and saw that there were no customers looking for her, so she sat down next to Su Jinyue and asked in a low voice: "Are you Brother Qingyun's girlfriend?" She had known Brother Qingyun for several years, but this was the first time she saw him with a girl.

"No, we're friends." Su Jinyue picked up the teacup and took a sip of tea.

"Oh!" The short-haired girl was a little disappointed. She thought Brother Qingyun had finally found a girlfriend.

Seeing the short-haired girl's disappointed expression, Su Jinyue smiled and asked, "Do you really hope that Wei Qingyun can find a girlfriend?"

"Yes, Brother Qingyun has found a girlfriend, so there is someone to take care of him. By the way, my name is Zhang Fang, what's your name?" Zhang Fang asked.

"Su..."

"Fangfang! The guests have left, go and clear the table." Uncle Yong shouted while paying the bill for the guests.

"Coming!" Zhang Fang responded and said to Su Jinyue, "I'll come over and talk to you later."

After saying that, she quickly ran to the table where the guests had just left.

About half an hour later, Wei Qingyun came back with a takeaway box and was surprised to see that Su Jinyue had not left.

He put the takeout box next to the counter and said, "Uncle Yong, do you have any more takeout to deliver?" After delivering tonight, he would not deliver again in the future. He hoped that he could see things through to the end.

"No, you can take a rest for a while. I will call you when there is more." Uncle Yong said with a smile.

Wei Qingyun nodded, walked over to Su Jinyue and sat down, "I thought you were gone."

"I'm planning on leaving." Su Jinyue finished the last sip of tea in her cup and stood up. She had come with him because she thought he was moving to the gallery tonight, and it would be convenient for her to help him move in. Now it seemed he would wait until tomorrow.

"Let me take you there." Wei Qingyun stood up.

Su Jinyue shook her head and said, "No need. You go ahead and do your work. I'll come and help you move tomorrow morning." She sat there for a while and found that the restaurant was doing very good business. There would be customers coming in almost every seven or eight minutes.

"I don't have much luggage, so I won't bother you," Wei Qingyun said. He only had some clothes, bedding, and painting supplies.

"Then I'll see it tomorrow." Su Jinyue said and walked outside.

Looking at Su Jinyue's departing figure, Wei Qingyun smiled slightly. He felt very lucky, whether it was meeting Uncle Yong's family or Su Jinyue.

"Brother Qingyun, you are not reluctant to leave me, are you?" Zhang Fang's teasing voice came from behind.

Wei Qingyun retracted his gaze, turned around, and rolled his eyes at Zhang Fang. "Don't talk nonsense. Su Jinyue and I are just friends." He had talked a lot with Su Jinyue today, and he was quite surprised to hear that she was already married. He also wanted to know which lucky man would marry her.

Zhang Fang made a naughty face at Wei Qingyun and said, "Just admit it if you like him! It's not something to be ashamed of." She felt that Brother Qingyun would be successful in the future and anyone who followed him would be very happy.

From bustling to sparse, and finally everything returned to calm, with only one table of guests left in the restaurant having a midnight snack.

Wei Qingyun walked to the counter and looked at Uncle Yong who was counting the bill inside. "Uncle Yong, I can't help you deliver takeout in the future. I'm sorry!"

Uncle Yong raised his head and looked at Wei Qingyun in confusion, "What happened?"

"My friend asked me to help manage her gallery," Wei Qingyun said. He felt a little sorry for Uncle Yong, as he had quit so suddenly, leaving him no time to find someone.

"Don't you like painting? That's perfect! If you work hard, you might become a great painter one day. Don't worry about me, Ah Niu next door will help me with the delivery." Uncle Yong looked at Wei Qingyun with a smile, a hint of reluctance in his eyes. He was really reluctant to part with him after so many years of being together.

"Brother Qingyun, where are you going?" Zhang Fang came out of the kitchen and heard her father's words, so she walked up and asked.

"Su Jinyue opened a gallery on Mori Street. She knew I was interested in painting, so she asked me to help her manage the gallery." Wei Qingyun said.

"That's great! Can I come visit you at the gallery later?" Zhang Fang said happily. All good things must come to an end; sooner or later, their family and Brother Qingyun would have to part ways.

"Of course!" Wei Qingyun smiled and nodded. In his heart, Uncle Yong's family was his family, and Fangfang was his sister.
