Chapter 666: Tail-End

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when they saw Zhan Yihan return. Although they had great confidence in the battalion commander's abilities, they couldn't help but feel a little worried. After all, it wasn't just one or two ice leaf insects, but a whole swarm.

As soon as Zhan Yihan took away the battle flag, everyone immediately surrounded him.

"Captain, what's causing the white mist?"

"Are there no ice leaf insects left?"

"Have you found the whereabouts of the villagers?" everyone asked in unison, their hearts full of curiosity.

Zhan Yihan recounted what had just happened, "Let's go back and complete the mission." Although none of the villagers had been found, the fog in the forest had dissipated, and the villagers could continue to come to the forest to pick wild fruits and vegetables as before. His greatest achievement this time was obtaining the low-grade spiritual vein. With this spiritual vein, he and Jin Yue's strength could be upgraded to another level.

Wang Xiaofang arrived at the Zhan family's house early and handed a bag of fruit to Su Jinyue. "Doctor Su, these are some wild fruits my father picked in the mountains. They're so sweet, try them." Her father had brought back these wild fruits from hunting in the mountains yesterday. She thought they were delicious, so she brought some over. She felt embarrassed to take Doctor Su's car for free.

"Thank you!" Su Jinyue took the wild fruit with a smile and looked at the books in Wang Xiaofang's hands. "Are you taking these books to sell?"

Wang Xiaofang nodded. "I buy most of my books now from used book stalls. They're cheap, and they're easy to recycle." She earns a good salary, but her expenses are also high, and she has to send some of it back home. If she only buys new books, she definitely won't have enough money.

Su Jinyue looked at Zhan Dafeng and Wang Meizhen, and handed the bag of wild fruits in her hand to Wang Meizhen, "Dad! Mom! Yihan and I will come back to see you after the New Year." As long as Yihan has a vacation, they can come back now and it will only take them a dozen minutes.

"Drive slowly on the road and call me when you get there," Wang Meizhen warned. She was a little worried about Jin Yue driving alone.

Su Jinyue smiled and nodded, "I'll call you as soon as I get to Beijing."

Wang Meizhen and Zhan Dafeng sent Su Jinyue out the door. They reluctantly looked away only after her car had driven away.

"This child is independent. It's really a blessing from his previous life that Yihan can marry her." Wang Meizhen said with relief.

"Yeah." Zhan Dafeng nodded in agreement. Although he didn't say it, he was very satisfied with Jin Yue as his daughter-in-law.

The car sped all the way and arrived in the city in less than half an hour.

"Dr. Su, thank you!" Wang Xiaofang opened the car door, got out, and said goodbye to Su Jinyue. The more she spent time with Su Jinyue, the more she felt she had a lot to learn.

"Goodbye." Su Jinyue waved to Wang Xiaofang and started the car again. Huo Feng had just told her that Huo Huang had sent a message that Yi Han's mission had been completed and he would be returning to the capital soon.

When the car drives out of Licheng, there is a cement-paved road. This road is the main road leading to Yangcheng. Usually there are a lot of cars on this road. Now it happens to be the morning rush hour, and the traffic on the road is even more congested.

Su Jinyue could only follow the car in front of her, slowly driving forward. Seeing a three-way fork in the road not far ahead, she smiled. She wanted to fly with her sword, so she naturally had to choose a deserted place.

However, before Su Jinyue's car reached the three-way intersection, she heard a crash from behind, and her car was hit by the force into the car in front.

Su Jinyue quickly controlled her car to prevent it from continuing to collide with the car in front.

Her consciousness scanned the back and saw that three cars had rear-ended each other. The accident was caused by a truck driver. Judging from his expression, he must have suddenly become ill and lost control of the vehicle. Fortunately, there was a traffic jam, so the impact was not strong. Otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Pushing the door and getting out of the car, Su Jinyue came to the truck that caused the accident. The drivers who were rear-ended in front had already gotten out of their cars and gathered around the truck.

"Get out of here! Stop hiding!" a tall, burly driver, seeing the truck driver refuse to get out, banged on the door and yelled. He'd finally managed to scrape together enough money to buy his car, and now the rear and windshield were flattened. The repairs were going to be expensive, and he was going to make the other driver pay for it.

Su Jinyue walked to the side of the yelling driver and said, "Please move aside." She saw that the driver in the truck had fallen into a coma and it would be too late if he was not treated.

The driver looked at Su Jinyue, then glanced at the car in front, and stepped aside. He guessed that Su Jinyue must be seeking compensation from the truck driver.

Su Jinyue reached out and opened the truck door, stepped on it, and got on the truck easily. She reached out and picked up the unconscious driver, and said to the several drivers outside the car: "Hold it." The driver had a sudden myocardial infarction and his life would be in danger if he was not rescued in time.

The driver was wondering how Su Jinyue opened the car door. When he saw Su Jinyue easily carry the unconscious driver out of the car, he opened his eyes wide in surprise.

Hearing Su Jinyue's words, he subconsciously reached out to catch the person. As soon as he caught the person, he almost dropped the person to the ground. Fortunately, another driver intervened in time and prevented the person from falling.

"Put him on the ground and let him lie flat." Su Jinyue said to the two people who were still holding the unconscious driver.

The two of them quickly did as they were told and put the person on the ground.

Su Jinyue squatted down and reached out to unbutton the collar of the unconscious driver. After performing chest compressions for a while, she took out a pill and put it into his mouth.

"What happened to him?" the tall and strong driver asked. If the truck driver got into an accident, his compensation would be gone.

"Sudden myocardial infarction." Su Jinyue stood up and said.

"Can he be saved?" the tall and strong driver asked anxiously.

Su Jinyue nodded. "I've given him medicine, he'll wake up soon." If she hadn't met the driver today, he would have been too late to get treated. Even if someone called an ambulance, it would take about half an hour to get here, not to mention the traffic jam.

"He's awake." Someone noticed that the driver on the ground had opened his eyes and said excitedly.

The driver looked around in confusion. "What's wrong with me?" He had just felt a sudden pain and tightness in his chest, and he couldn't breathe at all. Then his vision went black, and he knew nothing.

"You had a sudden myocardial infarction. Luckily you met this young man, otherwise you would be in great danger today," said an old man in the crowd. His wife had died of a myocardial infarction, and they didn't have time to wait for the ambulance.
