Chapter 718: Attention

"Can you prove it now?" Han Bing looked at Liu Jiangyan provocatively.

"What's so great about that?" Liu Jiangyan snorted coldly and walked outside. Today was really embarrassing.

Seeing that there was nothing exciting to watch, everyone in the hall withdrew their gaze and continued eating and chatting.

Su Jinyue shook her head and smiled, then walked upstairs with Ma Lingling and the others.

"If I had known you were the owner of Baiweiju, I wouldn't have asked anyone to book a table for me," Xu Xinxin said with a smile. She had only managed to get the table through her brother-in-law.

"I've been wanting to eat Baiweiju's medicinal food for a long time, but I couldn't get a reservation," Ding Si'an said. Now that she had Su Jinyue as her relationship partner, she could eat there whenever she wanted.

"Su Jinyue, who will run this shop after you leave?" Ma Lingling asked. Su Jinyue was about to join the army, so the shop couldn't be left unattended forever.

Su Jinyue pushed open the door of the private room and let everyone in. "This shop is not mine, it belongs to my second brother and second sister-in-law."

"No wonder, I was wondering where you got so much time." Zhang Li smiled. Although it was just a restaurant, managing one was no easy feat. Not to mention, the business was so brisk.

"Will you come back after you leave?" Xu Xinxin walked to the chair and sat down.

"It depends." Su Jinyue picked up the menu on the table and handed it to Ding Sian beside her, "First, take a look at what snacks you want. The herbalist will then prepare a suitable medicated meal for you based on your physical condition." Medicinal meal is also equivalent to medicine, but it is not suitable for everyone.

Ding Sian took the menu and looked at the names of the dishes. "This is my first time here, I don't know what's good to eat. How about you recommend something to us?"

"Yes, you can have some." Xu Xinxin nodded in agreement.

"Rose and red date cake, pudding, osmanthus cake, and strawberry cake are all our signature dishes. You can try them," Su Jinyue recommended. Items like pudding and strawberry cake are not available in China yet.

To enrich her menu, she hired a pastry chef who had just returned from abroad. Initially reluctant, he was captivated by Baiweiju's herbal cuisine after a visit and agreed to stay. Therefore, pastries are now one of Baiweiju's specialties.

"Then let's do what you said." Xu Xinxin said with a smile.

"Su Jinyue, are you still in touch with Qian Moli? I've looked for her several times, but she's never been home, not even at school," Ding Sian asked. She'd originally wanted to call Qian Moli today; they were on good terms back then, and she figured it would be a good time for them to get together. However, she'd looked for Qian Moli several times and couldn't find her.

"I haven't seen her in a long time either," Su Jinyue said. Qian Moli was currently studying under Han Yiyuan and had recently been working with Han Yiyuan at his company in the United States, helping him handle the expansion of Beauty Queen into the US market.

"I don't know if she's doing well now. I heard from some of the aunts living near her that her mother is very son-in-law and often takes her anger out on Qian Moli," Ding Sian sighed. Although she has brothers and sisters, her parents have never been son-in-law and have always been very kind to her.

"I thought that kind of thinking was only in our countryside, but I didn't expect city dwellers to have it too," Lin Muzhu shook her head. Her parents were very patriarchal, and if it weren't for her academic excellence and the village secretary's strong recommendation, she wouldn't have been able to attend school in Beijing. So, she'd always been determined, hoping to stay in Beijing and become a doctor. She'd impress the villagers, her parents, and show them that she was no less capable than her older brother.

Su Jinyue thought of the time she went to Qian Moli's house and couldn't help but shake her head. Qian Moli wouldn't suffer that kind of hardship anymore. Han Yiyuan said that Qian Moli was very smart and hardworking. Han Yiyuan had a sharp eye, and how could someone who even he praised be any worse? Qian Moli's future was definitely bright.

There was a gentle knock on the door of the private room, and a waiter and an old Chinese doctor in a robe walked in.

The waiter greeted Su Jinyue, walked over and took the menu. Seeing that the snacks had already been selected, he said, "I'll go prepare the snacks first."

The old Chinese doctor walked over to Ma Lingling and took a look at her complexion. "Let me see your tongue."

Ma Lingling nodded and stuck out her tongue.

"You have a lot of dampness in your body. You can try our red bean and barley porridge." The old doctor wrote something down in the notebook in his hand, walked over to Zhang Li, looked at her face and the coating on her tongue, and said, "You have insufficient Qi and blood. I'll give you our Qi and blood-tonifying soup."

After the old Chinese doctor recorded the conditions of everyone, he looked at Su Jinyue and said, "Do you want me to prepare the medicine for you?" Su Jinyue's medical skills were better than his, and he didn't know whether he should help her prepare the medicine.

Su Jinyue smiled and shook her head. "I don't need that. Just give me a serving of rose sago."

The old Chinese doctor nodded, opened the door and walked out.

"I didn't realize there were so many details to consider when it comes to medicinal food," Ma Lingling said with a smile. She'd assumed this place was just like any other, where they could just look at the menu and order. She hadn't expected there to be a Chinese medicine doctor on staff.

"Medicinal food is also medicine. You can't eat it casually. Otherwise, it will not only be useless, but will be harmful to your body." Su Jinyue said.

"Does that mean I have to take it long-term?" Ma Lingling asked. They studied clinical medicine and didn't know much about Chinese medicine.

"Traditional Chinese medicine is different from Western medicine. Western medicine emphasizes speed, while traditional Chinese medicine requires slow adjustment. For example, you have a lot of dampness, so you can cook some porridge at home to remove dampness. I will write a recipe for you later." Su Jinyue said.

"Yeah." Ma Lingling nodded and replied with a smile.

"Su Jinyue, please help me write a recipe for conditioning. The old Chinese doctor just said I have a cold uterus," Zhang Li said, looking at Su Jinyue. Every time she had her period, her stomach would hurt like hell, and soaking in brown sugar water didn't help.

"I want one too." Xu Xinxin said.

Su Jinyue smiled and nodded, "I will prescribe a diet plan for each of you after dinner." Although she could solve all their problems with just one pill, she didn't want to do that.

When they saw the snacks being served, everyone's attention was immediately attracted to them.

"Is this a strawberry cake? It's so beautiful!" Ding Si'an looked at the exquisite strawberry cake in front of her with admiration. This was the first time she had actually seen a cake. She had only seen it in TV dramas before. She didn't expect that today she would not only be able to see it, but also taste it.

"They sell it at Friendship Mall, but it's not as exquisite as this," Xu Xinxin said. Last birthday, her brother went to Friendship Mall and secretly bought her a cake. When she got home that night, he brought her out and gave her a big surprise. But she was so full from a party that day that she only took a few bites of the cake.
