"Grandpa, you're wrong to say that. I never thought it was you. If I knew it was you, how could I remain indifferent? You're my grandpa," Zhou Yufeng said angrily. Grandpa was fine before, but why did he become so confused after meeting those two people? Could they have drugged Grandpa's medicine?
"Then how did everyone else know?" Zhou Jianye questioned sullenly. The broadcast had said it so clearly; even Su Jinyue and the others had guessed it was him, but his own granddaughter didn't know. And when he questioned her, she'd actually said he deserved to die. Was there any granddaughter like her? Although he was unconscious at the time, he was still conscious. He could clearly hear the discussions of the people around him and the broadcast on the train.
"I just thought you had some medicine on you, but how could I have known you would faint even with it? Grandpa, please stop being unreasonable, okay?" Zhou Yufeng was embarrassed and angry when she saw passersby looking at them. Why couldn't Grandpa understand?
"Am I being unreasonable?" Zhou Jianye was truly amused. He saw the person coming out of the bathroom, walked in, and slammed the door shut. The train would only take half a day to arrive, so he could just bear it.
"You're really old and confused." Zhou Yufeng gritted her teeth in anger. If there weren't people around, she would have wanted to kick the door.
Zhou Jianye sighed helplessly and began brushing his teeth and washing his face. Looking at himself in the mirror, he suddenly remembered something. He hadn't taken his medicine yet, and it was morning. If it were before, his heart would have been overwhelmed by Yufeng's anger. But now, he didn't feel anything at all. When he walked out of the bathroom, he saw Zhou Yufeng standing outside the door with an unhappy look on her face. Zhou Jianye ignored her and walked past her directly towards the berth where he was staying. He hadn't taken his medicine yet, so he had better be careful.
"Grandpa." Seeing Zhou Jianye ignoring her, Zhou Yufeng was really about to be angry to death.
"Do you want to go in?" the person in line behind asked impatiently.
"What do you care!" Zhou Yufeng glared at the person who spoke, stomped her feet and walked into the bathroom.
Zhou Jianye walked into the sleeper compartment and saw Su Jinyue and Zhan Yihan eating breakfast. "Have you already bought breakfast? I was thinking of buying some for you too." He was truly grateful to them. If it weren't for them yesterday, he would have been in serious trouble. He didn't know how to thank them, but luckily they were also going to the Northeast. After getting off the train, he would ask his son how to thank them.
"We brought this with us. Have a piece." Su Jinyue took out an oil-paper package and handed it to Zhou Jianye. This was the egg pancake that a military wife had given her when they left.
"No, I'll buy it myself." Zhou Jianye shook his head embarrassedly. How could he have the nerve to eat their food?
"You can eat, we have more." Su Jinyue said. She still had a good impression of Zhou Jianye, but she didn't understand why he had such a granddaughter who couldn't tell right from wrong.
"Really, no need." Zhou Jianye shook his head and smiled.
Su Jinyue smiled and withdrew her hand.
Zhou Jianye put away the towel and toothbrush, walked to the table, picked up the thermos on the table, and found that it was already filled with water. "Is this water just filled?" He remembered that the water in the thermos had been almost drunk yesterday.
"Yeah." Zhan Yihan nodded. He woke up in the morning and found that the thermos on the table was empty, so he went to the water room to fill it up.
Zhou Jianye smiled and put down the thermos, then picked up his own cup and poured it into it. He let it cool down for a while, so he could take the medicine after breakfast.
Zhou Yufeng returned to the sleeper room and saw that Zhou Jianye was not there. She glanced at Su Jinyue and Zhan Yihan and snorted.
After putting away her towel and toothbrush, Zhou Yufeng left the berth. Grandpa must have gone to buy breakfast.
Zhou Jianye bought two steamed buns and two bowls of porridge and headed towards his own sleeping compartment. Although he was furious, Yufeng was his granddaughter after all. He couldn't bear not buying her breakfast.
Seeing Zhou Jianye carrying breakfast, Zhou Yufeng walked up to him with a smile, took one of them and said, "Grandpa, I was wrong before, please don't be angry, okay?" "I'm in the next berth. The woman next door is so kind, and she has a beautiful little daughter. She's brought her child to visit her husband in the army," Zhou Yufeng said with a smile. The train was about to reach its final destination, and there weren't many people left. The berths were empty. She had originally planned to sleep in the next berth, but the more she talked with the woman next door, the more she struck up a conversation. Since she didn't want to come back, she decided to stay.
"Grandpa, please eat. I'm going to Mrs. Ma's place." Zhou Yufeng put the meal in her hand on the table, turned around and walked out the door.
"Come back here." Zhou Jianye shouted at Zhou Yufeng.
Zhou Yufeng stopped and looked at Zhou Jianye puzzledly, "Grandpa, what's wrong?"
"Have you forgotten something?" Zhou Jianye looked at Su Jinyue and Zhan Yihan and asked.
Zhou Yufeng said with a look of sudden realization, "Grandpa, we're almost at the station anyway. When we get there, my dad and I will thank them together." She had said this on purpose for them to hear. Hadn't they been deceiving Grandpa just to get something from her dad? With her saying this, they should be relieved.
"This is..." Zhou Jianye wanted to say something, but Zhou Yufeng had already walked to the next room, so he could only sigh helplessly.
