Chapter 516 At the Peak of Success

Since the music festival, the two small theaters at Haiyun have been incredibly popular. Rock enthusiasts have been using the small theaters as a substitute for the music festival, which has led to the booming business of the small theaters.

It's currently peak tourist season.

In the 1980s and 90s, Lianwan was a popular tourist destination for people from Northeast China, attracting a large number of visitors every summer.

Among these tourists are a significant number of rock music fans, for whom the Ocean Shipping Ballroom and its two affiliated small theaters have become essential attractions to visit during their trip to Lianwan.

With this factor in mind, it's no wonder that the Ocean Shipping Ballroom and the two small theaters are so popular.

There were twenty bands performing in the two theaters every night, plus the bands that performed in the dance halls, bringing the total number of bands that made a living to thirty.

These bands not only solved their basic needs but also became a relatively high-income group, so they worked even harder to protect this hard-won haven.

This creates a virtuous cycle.

The band earned the right to perform in small theaters by creating high-quality programs, and supported their families through these performances.

Once they reach a certain level, they can advance to perform at the Maritime Ballroom.

Once a performance at the Ocean Shipping Ballroom reaches a certain level, one can sign with a record company, release an album, and participate in concerts.

With this virtuous cycle, rock music in Lianwan City has embarked on a correct and healthy development path.

Humans eat grains and cereals, which naturally leads to different social classes.

Even though the rock scene in Bay City is thriving, there are still those who stick to the old ways and refuse to change their stubborn minds.

Such people are destined to be eliminated by the wheels of history.

Two of the shipping company's three major projects for this year have been completed: the music festival has been successfully held and the audio-visual company has been successfully established.

All that's left is Blue Shark's national tour this year.

The national tour is tentatively scheduled to start on August 5th in Lianwan City, followed by four stops in Songyang, the provincial capital, Guanchun in Jilin Province, Harbin in Heilongjiang Province, and Qiqihar.

After completing the five stops in Northeast China, the troops will march into the pass, heading south from Beijing, through Shijiazhuang, Jinan, Nanjing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Wenzhou, Quanzhou, Xiamen, and then into Guangdong Province.

They performed extensively in Guangdong Province, with a total of six stops: Bamboo Sea, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.

The national tour was almost a complete loop along the coast of China.

After these performances are over, it will probably be close to New Year's Day.

If this year's coastal tour is successful, the band will tour major cities in inland provinces next year.

While the band is the main performer for organizing so many stops on the tour, the most troublesome parts actually have little to do with the band.

The most time-consuming and labor-intensive part is the organization and promotion of the performance.

This is the time to truly test Han Chui's abilities.

Last year's Blue Shark tour was mainly due to benefiting from the success of others.

From the initial collaboration with Su Ennan to the later opening of the Black Panther venue in Xi'an, there were always other companies operating behind the scenes.

Aside from Han Chui following others' lead, they hardly wasted any energy on organization and propaganda, simply taking advantage of the situation.

But this time it won't work. There's no one else to help you with things; you have to rely on yourself for everything.

Han Chui didn't just watch the excitement last year for nothing; he boasted that he had gained a wealth of experience.

To prove he wasn't just talking nonsense, Han Chui personally led a team of twenty people to make preparations in advance.

By the end of July, news came back that the five northern stations had been set up.

The performances were all held in stadiums in these major cities.

Over the course of more than a year, the Blue Shark Band held a highly influential concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum. After more than half a year of development, this concert has become a classic in the hearts of Chinese music fans.

The album from this concert sold a staggering 15 million copies in mainland China.

All of this brought unparalleled influence to the Blue Shark band.

In addition, the Blue Shark band also appeared on the Spring Festival Gala, and their new album "Crazy," released before the Lunar New Year, sold as many copies as its name suggests, with total sales in mainland China and overseas reaching 15 million copies.

The copyright for this album has also been bought by Japan, and it will be released there soon.

Subsequently, the Blue Shark Band performed on the Spring Festival Gala, gaining even greater influence for themselves.

Although Blue Shark didn't do much this spring, the documentary brought them great fame.

With these factors combined, Blue Shark has become a top-tier, undisputed star in China.

With these factors in mind, it's only natural that the concert would be held in a stadium; the stadium can no longer accommodate the band's ambitions.

On July 20th, Xu Wei finished recording his album.

Not only was the audio recorded, but also the live video footage.

In the latter half of 1995, DVD players finally began to show their charm.

Due to the large-scale price reduction of electronic components, the price of DVD players has been declining all the way down, finally falling below the three thousand mark.

DVD players priced at less than three thousand yuan were still acceptable to a considerable number of people, and their sales began to climb.

By August 1995, the number of DVD players installed in China had finally exceeded ten million units.

With a base of tens of millions of units, CD sales will gradually increase, and when recording album audio, it's natural to capture some on-site video footage.

Used when making VCDs.

After the master tapes of Xu Wei's album were edited, they were first sent for review. At the same time as the review, the master tapes were sent to an audio-visual product pressing factory for pressing.

The dance album by the Hanmei group will soon be going into the recording studio.

After the songs for this dance album were selected and handed over to the two girls, they began practicing the songs in their spare time.

Liang Liang also put a lot of effort into arranging these dance pieces during this period.

Although he doesn't know how to operate a turntable, he can listen carefully and is quite skilled at using different sounds to embellish different parts.

After more than twenty days of training, the two state-of-the-art turntables were finally able to record a few songs.

When the Blue Shark band embarked on their tour, one of the two of them was to travel with the band.

One stayed to work at the disco, while the other toured with the band.

Xu Mei was the one who followed the band; Lin Hanrui couldn't compete with her at all.

For Xu Mei, nothing could be happier than traveling around the country with Liang Liang.

Xu Wei's album was released from the recording studio on the afternoon of the 20th, while the Hanmei duo entered the recording studio on the morning of the 21st and recorded four songs in one day.

These four pieces were all pieces they already knew, so they were quite familiar with them and didn't take much time to learn.

But they got confused when it came to the next five tracks. It took them two or three days to record one track. By the time Blue Shark had started preparing for their tour, their dance album was still one track short of being recorded.
