Chapter 375 Entering a Big Venue

Liang Liang was lost in thought on a street in Xi'an.

In a factory compound in Xi'an, in a house allocated by the government in the 1970s or 80s, a young man stares blankly at the ceiling, his heart filled with confusion.

When he woke up this morning, he found that all his friends were gone.

This young man is Xu Wei, the lead singer and singer-songwriter of the wildly popular Flying Leap band in the first half of the year.

If the band's success doesn't translate into cash, it's basically no different from having nothing. After indulging in this superficial prosperity, his bandmates suddenly realized they couldn't even afford cigarettes anymore. Naturally, they began to wake up. After a period of brewing and eruption of conflict, the bandmates of Flying Leap didn't hesitate to go south to make money.

Back then, karaoke bars were very popular in the Shishi and Jinjiang areas. If a good musician found a good karaoke bar, it was quite normal to earn 1,000 to 1,800 yuan a night.

While the average monthly wage for factory workers was still hovering around four or five hundred yuan, these musicians' daily wage was a jaw-dropping figure.

It could be said that when he woke up, he was all alone in the Flying Leap band.

Xu Wei didn't go south. He knew that if he went, he would be set for life. However, he would only be able to spend his time in nightclubs and dance halls, and would never have a chance to rise above others.

This is something he cannot accept.

But if I don't go to the south, what can I do next?

For a moment, he felt that his world had turned into black and white, and he could not see any light or color.

Xu Wei lay idly at home for two days, and on the afternoon of the 9th, someone came to his house.

This was a young man whom Xu Wei did not recognize.

"You're looking for me?" Xu Wei asked, puzzled.

"Is your name Xu Wei?"

"Yes! I am Xu Wei!"

"Someone asked me to bring you two theater tickets!" The person took two tickets out of his pocket and placed them on the bedside table next to Xu Wei's bed.

"Dude! I think you must be mistaken, I don't like watching movies."

"Not movie tickets, but two concert tickets!"

"Concert tickets? Sorry, I'm not really interested in pop songs!"

He was repeatedly asked to sing pop songs at the karaoke bar, but he felt like he was going to vomit whenever he heard them.

"It's not a pop song, it's rock and pop combined." The person put down the ticket and was about to leave.

"Where did this band come from? What's their name?"

"I don't know! They seem to be two bands from the north, called Black Panther and Blue Shark!"

After answering, the person left.

"Black Panther and Blue Shark? Blue Shark? Which Blue Shark?"

He had never heard of the Black Panther band, but he knew the Blue Shark band, and he even had their latest album, "No Place to Hide".

He was almost stunned when he first heard this album.

Xu Wei grabbed the two tickets.

At 7 PM on July 10th, at Xi'an Stadium, the Blue Shark Band and the Black Panther Band will give a passionate performance.

The ticket clearly states that it is indeed the bands Blue Shark and Black Abalone.

Xi'an Stadium?

Xu Wei suddenly felt dizzy when he saw the performance venue.

Not to mention Xu Wei was dizzy when he saw the performance venue, Liang Liang's head also went blank when he learned that their performance venue was Xi'an Stadium.

Xi'an Stadium? The Xi'an Stadium that could seat 40,000 spectators before it was renovated?

Oh my god!

Who has the audacity to put their concert here?

The rent for this stadium must be tens of thousands of yuan. If we can't get that many people in, we might lose money.

Those people at Yidong are very cautious in their work; they usually rent stadiums with a capacity of 10,000 to 20,000 people.

Why do people from the Pacific Ocean suddenly become so energetic?

Are they all members of the Little Tigers?

They just built a stadium that can hold tens of thousands of people right off the bat. What do these people in the Pacific eat to have such audacity?

Furthermore, how do you set up sound equipment in such a large stadium?

If such a large stadium has poor sound equipment, isn't it just waiting to become a scene of car accidents?

After Liang Liang understood the situation on the morning of the 8th, he immediately contacted people from Pacific Audio-Visual Company to inquire about these matters.

The audio equipment was transported from the Pacific Ocean in containers. The new equipment, worth millions, was just imported from abroad. Even the singers from the Pacific Ocean didn't get to use it before it was moved here.

The debugging was all done by foreigners.

The equipment is now installed, the Black Panther band arrived this afternoon, and they can start rehearsals tomorrow.

All of this was arranged by General Manager Liu. Renting a large venue was also his idea. He said that Liang Liang and his group used to rent small venues that could only accommodate 10,000 or 2,000 people, which was not very ambitious. Now, all the singers from Pacific are performing in stadiums, so they have no reason not to rent large venues.

So, he was the leader of the Little Tigers.

Pacific Audio-Visual Company's newly purchased imported equipment was given to Liang Liang to use before even being used by their own staff. Liang Liang felt he should be moved.

Of course, while we're touched, we still need to be clear about money matters.

"Mr. Liu said that since these are new devices, they haven't been tested yet. You can use them as a test and we won't charge you for it. Just make sure you use them well."

Liang Liang was moved for the second time. They were given the brand-new equipment to use first and for free. What kind of spirit is this?

This concert, including venue rental, transportation equipment, and advertising, has cost 150,000 to 160,000 yuan. Add to that the cost of hiring security guards and paying taxes, and it's hard to say whether we'll break even.

If we can sell more than 10,000 tickets, then we'll basically break even, and all that's left is to generate buzz.

If we can't sell 10,000 tickets, we'll definitely lose money.

On the afternoon of the 8th, the Black Panther Band arrived in Xi'an and joined the Blue Shark Band.

That evening, the two sides discussed and refined the performance of the song.

The Black Panther Band will still perform songs from the Blue Shark Band's second album, as well as their own compositions, for a total of thirteen tracks.

Blue Shark's repertoire mainly consists of the six great songs from their first album, along with nine other tracks.

The six songs on the album "Hometown" are "Returning Home", "Hometown", "Return", "Grey Bird", "Blue Lotus" and "Waiting for the Wind".

The rest of the songs are either unreleased or from other people's albums, but Liang Liang wrote the lyrics and composed the music.

His works include "Back to Lhasa", "Don't Be Lonely", "Longing is a Knife", and "The Fake Monk".

Several of the pieces have never been performed in mainland China before, including "Song of the Corner" and "Shambhala Bar," which was performed during this trip to Lhasa.

Once the music was decided and the performance order was arranged, all that was left was rehearsal.

On the afternoon of July 9th, the bands Blue Shark and Black Panther arrived at Xi'an Stadium.

Xi'an Stadium, also known as Northwest People's Stadium or Zhuque Stadium, was built in the 1950s.

The stadium underwent renovations in 1996 to prepare for hosting the 4th National Games.

Before the renovation, the stadium could accommodate 40,000 spectators; after the renovation, it can accommodate 50,100 people.

At 1 p.m., the bands Blue Shark and Black Panther stepped into the magnificent stadium.
