The second day of the Lunar New Year is also known as the day to welcome the son-in-law.
As the name suggests, it is the day when married daughters return to their parents' home to pay New Year's greetings.
Before Lin Xiuqin got married and when her parents were still alive, Chen Wang and the little girl of course followed their parents to visit their grandparents' home.
I haven't been there in the past two years, and I haven't returned to the Lin family either.
Everything is different this year, and Chen Wang is ready to go everywhere.
I have already discussed with my wife that we will go to Lin's house on the second day of the New Year and come back on the same day, and then go to my mother's parents' home on the third day.

Early in the morning, the family of three started working.
Still borrowing Chen Dazhuang's bicycle, this time Lin Xiuqin rode a bicycle with the little girl.
Chen Wang's car was loaded with a lot of things he wanted to take over.
There were cigarettes, alcohol, and snacks, as well as some meat from home, and two jars of medicinal wine made with leopard bones and Chinese medicinal herbs.
The two jars of wine were placed in a box with some old clothes and a mattress inside to prevent them from getting bumped, and then tied with ropes to secure them on the back seat.
By the time everything was ready, the sun had already risen high.
After locking the doors and windows, the family of three set off quickly.
Worried about catching a cold on the road, the little girl and Lin Xiuqin both wore thick clothes.
Especially Lin Xiuqin, who wore a hat on her head, leaving only her eyes and nose exposed, and also wore woolen gloves on her hands.
Even so, Chen Wang still suggested taking a few breaks during the trip, as he was worried that his wife might not be able to bear it.

The little girl said while holding the kettle.

"Let's take a break before we set off again. There's less than twenty minutes left, so let's just go for it!"
Chen Wang made a suggestion.
Lin Xiuqin nodded with a smile.
After resting for a few minutes, Chen Wang and Lin Xiuqin got on their bicycles again and took the little girl all the way to Linjia Village.
It was almost 11 o'clock in the morning when we finally arrived at Linjia Village.
"Wife, I wonder if your sisters have arrived yet."
Chen Wang turned his head and said something.
Lin Xiuqin smiled and nodded, her eyes full of anticipation and joy.
Throughout the year, only the second day of the Lunar New Year can the family get together, not to mention the years after she got married. She didn't want her parents to feel that she was not living a good life, so she didn't come back for the New Year.
"Brother, Liu Chengdong told us last time to go to his house when we go to the city, but we didn't go."
The little girl suddenly said.
"That's because I don't have time. There's nothing I can do. I went to the city twice and I had to come back the same day!"

"Have fun with them today, you are the elder!"
Chen Wang said with a smile.
"Ah? Then I won't give them New Year's money too, right?"
The little girl looked shocked.
Chen Wang and Lin Xiuqin couldn't help but laugh when they saw this.
"Of course. When people wish you a happy new year, you should give them lucky money, right?"
"Okay! Fortunately, I brought some pocket money with me. I'll give it to them when the time comes. How much should I give each person?"

Chen Wang and Lin Xiuqin smiled at each other and sped up their bikes.
They soon arrived at the Lin family's house. After parking the car, Chen Wang took out the cigarettes and alcohol he had bought from the car and walked directly to the main house in the middle.
Before entering the door, I saw Lin Xiuqin's sister, brother-in-law and their family of three, already sitting in the main room drinking tea.
The elder brother-in-law, the younger brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lin, and grandparents were all there, laughing and chatting.
"Sister, brother-in-law, you are here so early!"
Chen Wang shouted.

Chen Wang greeted everyone in turn.

As soon as they stepped into the door, three children, Lin Zhiming, Lin Yumeng and Lin Yuqing, ran up to them, each with a louder voice than the other, and stared at them with three pairs of sparkling eyes.
Chen Wang understood the situation very well, so he immediately put aside the cigarettes and alcohol in his hand and took out red envelopes to give out New Year's money.
"Come on, come on, one for each of you. Your aunt and I have ours in there."
Seeing that red envelopes were actually used, the three children's eyes lit up even brighter and they happily took the lucky money.
