Chapter 409 Hunting the Leopard

The two followed the route they remembered and arrived outside the cave before dark.

After finding a secluded place to hide their bodies, the two men stared at the entrance of the cave not far away, waiting for the leopard to come out.

"We should have come earlier. The leopard might have gone out hunting!"

Chen Wang whispered his thoughts.

Chen Dazhuang nodded and said, "Wait for an hour or two. If it doesn't come, it must have left. We can come here before dawn and wait for it to return to its nest, or come back another day."

Chen Wang responded.

There were still a lot of mosquitoes in the mountains at night, and it was impossible to light a fire, so the two of them suffered a lot squatting there.

A few hunting dogs sat quietly beside them, while the little monkeys moved freely in the surrounding forest.

As time passed, the patience of the two was slowly worn out.

Suddenly, Ruyi, who was squatting, stood up.

Seeing this, the three dogs Da Hu, Yan Wang and Yuan Shuai also stood up. Then, as if they had sensed the presence of the enemy, they bared their teeth and growled, showing a fighting posture.

When Chen Wang and the other man saw this scene, their faces lit up with joy and they quickly turned their gaze towards the entrance of the cave.

Sure enough, a dark shadow could be seen slowly walking out of the cave.

As it was already dark, the two of them couldn't see clearly, let alone turn on the flashlight to illuminate.

Chen Wang felt his elbow being gently bumped.

That was Chen Dazhuang reminding him to shoot first.

Chen Wang did not act pretentiously and raised his shotgun to aim at the black shadow.

The two people and four dogs were all suppressing their nervousness and excitement, trying not to make any noise.

The black shadow was unaware of the impending danger. He strolled leisurely while observing his surroundings, looking for possible prey.

"Bang!!"

The sound of gunfire echoed through the night sky.

The black shadow almost instinctively jumped to the side, and the bullet grazed the skin on its back, causing a stinging pain.

"Bang!!"

Chen Dazhuang also fired another shot right after, but the leopard was too fast and the bullet missed.

"Go! Go!"

Chen Wang gave orders to several hunting dogs to attack.

For a moment, fierce dog barking sounds were heard one after another, and the four dogs bravely and fearlessly chased after the black shadow.

"My, I missed!"

Chen Wang frowned, his tone sounding somewhat self-blaming.

"It's so dark and so far away, it's ridiculous that he could be killed with one shot. It seems he was injured, right?"

"Well, I heard it scream."

"That's great. Let's chase after it. There's a smell of blood. A few dogs won't lose it."

While they were communicating quickly, Chen Dazhuang took out a flashlight from his medicine basket and turned it on, and the two of them quickly chased after him.

If it really comes down to speed, the hunting dogs are definitely a step slower than the leopard.

However, Ruyi's sense of smell was sensitive enough, and the leopard was injured, so it would be somewhat affected when running violently, and it would leave a smell of blood, so it would be easy for a few hunting dogs to track its direction.

Chen Wang and the other man were having a headache as they lost the leopard after a while. They could only look for some bloodstains left by the leopard on the ground to determine the direction.

Fortunately, there is a good helper.

Chen Wang blew a whistle.

After a while, the little monkey came running over with a squeaking sound and landed on a branch of a tree on the side.

"Go, help us find the dog, and then come back and lead the way."

Chen Wang communicated with it using hand gestures.

The tacit understanding formed by living together for a long time made the little monkey immediately understand what he meant and leaped in the direction he pointed.

The little monkeys do not have as keen a sense of smell as hunting dogs, but their eyesight and hearing are excellent, and they can move freely in the mountains, so it is not difficult for them to find a few dogs.

Chen Wang and his companion continued to look for bloodstains on the ground, tracking the direction in which the leopard fled.

About half an hour later, the little monkey finally came back, still looking very panicked. It jumped onto Chen Wang's shoulder and pointed ahead, squeaking as if urging them to hurry over.

When Chen Wang and the other man saw this, they immediately became worried.

Could it be that some of the hounds are in trouble?

"Let's go!"

Chen Dazhuang said something and walked away hurriedly.

Chen Wang followed immediately.

Under the guidance of the little monkey, the two hurried along the way.

Not long after, the two heard the barking of dogs and the fierce growl of a leopard coming from the front.

The two men quickened their pace and approached. When they heard the sound almost not far ahead, they hid behind a big tree and stuck half of their heads out to look.

I saw four hunting dogs crouching under a tree not far ahead. Looking up, I found that the leopard was standing on a branch, confronting the dogs below with bared teeth.

It was still a bit far away, and the light was too dim, so the two men couldn't see the condition of the dogs clearly.

However, they could hear that there was something wrong with the barking of two of the dogs, and they were probably injured.

The two of them breathed a sigh of relief.

If it's just an injury, it's okay. It doesn't look like a serious injury.

Hunting dogs often follow hunters into the mountains to hunt, so it is inevitable that they will get hurt.

Chen Wang looked at Chen Dazhuang standing beside him and communicated with him through gestures, signaling them to move forward, one on the left and one on the right.

This distance is a bit too far, and it is too dark in the woods at night. If you want to hit the target more confidently, you must get closer.

Chen Dazhuang nodded slightly, bent down, and carefully moved towards a tree in front of him on the right.

Chen Wang did the same, moving towards a tree in front of him on the left.

At this time, the leopard on the tree let out a deeper roar and tried to pounce on the dogs below.

The four hunting dogs raised their heads, made brave and fearless noises, lowered their center of gravity, and were ready to fight at any time.

After trying it out, the leopard chose to give up.

Before retreating to the tree, it had a bloody battle with the four hunting dogs. Two of them were bitten by it, but it also had some injuries on its body.

These four hunting dogs were more ferocious than the other and were not afraid of it at all.

The most important thing is that they cooperate very well and specifically target certain important parts of the animal.

Just now it got bit on the butt and almost had its testicles bitten.

At the same time, Chen Wang and the other man had moved quietly behind two trees.

The black muzzles of two double-barreled shotguns protruded from the sides of the tree.

"Bang!"

After Chen Wang locked his sights on the dark shadow on the tree, he pulled the trigger steadily.

The moment the gunshot rang out, a single bullet had already reached the leopard.

The leopard had no time to dodge, blood spurted out of its body, and it fell from the tree.

Several dogs barked wildly, and two of the uninjured ones jumped up and bit the leopard in mid-air.

After the leopard fell to the ground, the other two dogs immediately pounced on it and bit it with their bloody mouths.

When on the verge of death, the leopard unexpectedly burst out with terrifying strength. It slapped a dog away with one claw, opened its bloody mouth to scare away three dogs, and stood up as if to escape.

"Bang!!"

Chen Dazhuang, who had been waiting for this opportunity, fired at the right time.
