Feeling the deathly gaze from his wife, cold sweat broke out on Chen Wang's forehead.
"But I heard from Erniu's grandfather that he used to have several wives."
The little girl said seriously.
"Ahem... that was all many years ago. Stop talking now."
Chen Wang rolled his eyes, looked at his wife and said, "Wife, don't listen to her nonsense. Even if I could marry several wives, I wouldn't do that. I only take one scoop out of three thousand rivers. That's me."
When Lin Xiuqin heard these shameless words, she looked at him with disgust, as if she was looking at a cockroach.
"Don't look at me like that. I'm serious. The one who wants to get married is Yang Xuewu. He asked me to introduce him to a wife."
Chen Wang hurriedly explained.
Lin Xiuqin looked surprised and asked him what was going on.
Chen Wang heaved a sigh of relief and continued, "His brother got married to a good wife, but this guy is jealous and envious. He is so sour and annoying. I just thought of you having a sister who is not married yet. You can try to bring them together."
"Wife, you know that Yang Xuewu is a capable guy. It would be a good thing if he can succeed."
After hearing what he said, Lin Xiuqin nodded slightly, with a thoughtful expression on her pretty face.
"So you're talking about Brother Wu."
The little girl blinked her big eyes and said to Lin Xiuqin with a smile: "Sister-in-law, Brother Wu is a good man, you can help him."
Lin Xiuqin couldn't help but nodded with a smile.
"That's all I'm telling you. If you think it's okay, go talk to your sister and ask them to meet one day. Come to our house and have a meal and chat together."
Chen Wang suggested with a chuckle.
Lin Xiuqin smiled and nodded.
"I'm cooking. You guys go out. There's a lot of smoke here."
Chen Wang rolled up his sleeves and started to work.
After dinner, the little girl took a few dogs, a little fox, and a little monkey out for fun, and also spread the word that they had wild sheep meat for sale at home.
She is an expert at this and is not shy at all. She just shouts at the door of every house she passes by.
"Uncle, aunt, grandpa, grandma... do you want to buy some wild goat meat? I have a lot for sale at a low price. My brother said it's 80 cents a pound."
The little girl was sweet-talking, and the mutton was very cost-effective at 80 cents per pound, so many people came to her house to buy meat that night.
By ten o'clock, when he had sold almost a whole sheep, Chen Wang felt a little tired, so he went to close the door of the mansion.
…
…
The next morning.
After breakfast, Chen Wang first sent the little girl to school.
After returning home, Chen Wang tied a sheep to the back seat of his bicycle, said goodbye to his wife, and rode to Linjia Village.
Lin Zhiming and Lin Yuqing both went to school.
Only the youngest, Lin Yumeng, was resting at home because she had a cold.
Upon learning that her uncle-in-law was coming, the little girl, who had been feeling unwell, instantly perked up. She ran out of the house and rushed towards Chen Wang like a swallow throwing itself into his arms, hugging his thighs.
"Uncle-in-law, why are you here?"
Lin Yumeng looked up at him, her little face, which was rounder than during the Chinese New Year, full of joy.
"My uncle misses you and has brought you some meat!"
Chen Wang smiled and pinched his cheek.
"Really? Uncle-in-law is the best!"
The little girl cheered.
Chen Wang touched her forehead with his hand.
It’s a bit hot!
"There hasn't been any cold weather in the past few days, so how come you caught a cold?"
Chen Wang looked at Lin's father and asked with a distressed look on his face.
Father Lin smiled and replied, "It was her fault. She kicked off the quilt because she felt hot at night."
"You kick the quilt when you sleep?"
Chen Wang smiled and rubbed her little head.
"Hehe...I don't know!"
The little girl said with a smile.
"Did you see the doctor? Are you okay?"
Chen Wang looked at Lin's mother again and asked.
Mother Lin smiled and shook her head, saying, "I went to see the village doctor. He said I'm fine, I just caught a cold. He prescribed some medicine."
"I'm glad you're okay."
Chen Wang nodded, lowered his head and said to the little girl, "Niuniu, please let your uncle go. Your uncle will take the meat into the house and let your grandmother stew it for you later."
“Yeah!”
The little girl nodded obediently and let go.
"Mom, make some mutton soup for Niu Niu later. It's good for your health!"
Chen Wang said as he untied the rope that tied up the wild goat.
Mother Lin nodded with a smile on her face and said, "Just spoil her!"
"I'll do it, I'll do it."
Father Lin walked over quickly and pretended to take the sheep from his hand.
"It's okay, let me do it, it's quite heavy."
"I'm not as good at hunting as you are. How can I be weaker than you?"
"All right!"
Chen Wang smiled, handed the wild goat to Lin's father, and asked, "Why didn't my uncle and the others see it?"
"Guoqiang went to work in the factory, and Guodong and the others went to work in the fields."
Mother Lin said with a smile.
“I see!”
"Come in, come in. Don't run so far to deliver meat next time. It's so tiring. We don't lack meat at home anymore."
"I'm not tired, just consider it as exercise."
"How are Xiuqin and the little one? I just saw them during the Chinese New Year, and I'm thinking about them again."
"Everything is fine. The little guy is growing day by day. His hands are a little heavy now. His little arms are as long as lotus root nodes."
"Hahaha...that's good, that's good."
After entering the house, Lin's mother poured Chen Wang a glass of warm water.
