Walking into the state-owned restaurant, the little guy held Chen Wang's hand with one hand, looking left and right with his bright big eyes, and was so curious about everything inside.
"Xiaoyu, what would you like to eat?"
Coming to the window to order food, Chen Wang asked the little girl with a smile.
"Ah? What dishes are there?"
The little girl raised her head and asked back.
Chen Wang simply picked her up and held her upside down, saying, "Look at the menu above and tell me what you want to eat."
The little girl was very happy and ordered several dishes in succession. There were some words she didn't recognize, so Chen Wang helped her to fill in the blanks.
Finally, Chen Wang added two more main dishes, boiled chicken and large pieces of braised pork, and asked for a bowl of crucian carp and tofu soup. For the main course, he asked for fried rice noodles and glutinous rice.
The total cost was 7.5 yuan, which was a little more expensive than the last time three of us dined out.
After ordering the dishes, Chen Wang took the little girl to Chen Jianjun and his son who had already found a seat.
"Master, would you like to drink something?"
Chen Wang asked with a smile.
"No, no, I have to go home!"
Chen Jianjun smiled and waved his hand.
Chen Dazhuang grinned and said, "It's more comfortable to drink at home. Awang, if you want to drink, come to my house tomorrow. I'll prepare some dishes and we can drink together."
"Come on, with your cooking skills, you might as well drink it at my house!"
Chen Wang had a look of disgust on his face.
"You don't understand. When you drink, you drink for the atmosphere. Whether the food is delicious is secondary."
Chen Dazhuang began to lecture him seriously.
"You know so much."
Chen Wang rolled his eyes and sat opposite the little girl.
The little girl sat on the chair, shaking her short legs and looking around like a curious baby.
As the New Year approaches, more and more people are willing to go out to eat, and you can see that many of them come with their families.
After a while, the waiter's voice was heard, interrupting Chen Wang and Chen Dazhuang's laughter and chat. The two of them quickly got up to serve the dishes.
Chen Wang really wanted to complain about the fact that he had to serve his own food when dining in a restaurant.
In later times, no matter how delicious the food of this kind of restaurant is, I'm afraid it won't survive for a few days.
After the dishes were served, several people picked up their chopsticks and began to eat with relish.
The little girl tasted a piece of braised pork with great interest, her thick eyebrows slightly frowned, and a hint of doubt appeared on her little face.
"What's wrong? Is the dish wrong?"
Chen Wang asked in surprise.
The little girl shook her head and replied, "It's not very delicious. Everything my sister-in-law makes is better than this."
Hearing this, Chen Wang and the other two couldn't help but laugh.
"Isn't that normal? Do you think everyone can cook like your sister-in-law?"
Chen Wang said with a smile.
In fact, most of the dishes in this kind of state-owned restaurant are cold dishes. Some dishes that require complicated preparation processes are also prepared in advance and are steamed in the pot when customers order them.
Real ingredients are one thing.
It's impossible to describe how good it tasted.
Nowadays, many housewives can cook as well as the chefs here as long as they have the ingredients.
After all, it is a state-owned restaurant, and the waiters and chefs all receive fixed salaries, so it is impossible for them to have a high level of work enthusiasm.
"But...but we spent money. It was so expensive."
The little guy pouted and muttered in frustration.
In her opinion, if you spend money on something, it must be worth the price.
Just like the candy, instant noodles and malted milk that Chen Wang bought for her, they were all delicious.
These dishes cost more than seven dollars, but the taste did not meet her expectations at all, which made her a little confused.
"If you feel like you're losing out, eat more. If you waste, you'll lose more."
Chen Wang said with a smile.
Unexpectedly, when the little girl heard this, she thought it made sense and started eating with big mouthfuls.
"Master, Brother Zhuang, you guys should eat quickly, or else this girl will eat them all."
"Hahaha...it's okay, it's okay."
"There are so many dishes. It's amazing that she can finish them all."
…
…
When Chen Wang and his companions came out of the hotel, it was already completely dark.
The little girl looked embarrassed, with one of her hands held by Chen Wang and the other hand touching her round belly.
Needless to say, I ate too much again.
In the end, they still didn’t finish the meal, so Chen Wang packed it up and asked for two cents for the take-out box.
Chen Dazhuang pushed the cart, and the group of four set out on their journey home.
They didn't walk far before the little girl, who had eaten too much, couldn't walk anymore and started whining.
There was no other choice, so Chen Wang let her sit on the cart and he pushed the cart himself.
"Dad, why don't we rebuild the house after the Spring Festival!"
As they walked, Chen Dazhuang suddenly made a suggestion.
Chen Jianjun was stunned for a moment, looking thoughtful, and did not agree directly.
The house they live in now is the adobe house he built twenty years ago, and it is indeed shabby and small now.
Whenever it rains, there are leaks in many places in the house, and when there is a strong wind, I am afraid that the house will be blown away.
"Uncle, I think it's feasible. Why don't our two families work together? I also want to rebuild the house."
Chen Wang took over the conversation with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Chen Jianjun and his son looked at him in surprise.
"Why are you looking at me like that? It's time to rebuild the old house."
Chen Wang smiled and continued, "Besides, we make money to improve our lives, otherwise why keep the money and wait for it to depreciate? Not only will I build a house, but when I make money in the future, I will also buy a few more houses in the city to leave for my future children."
This was his deliberate reminder to Chen Dazhuang.
