Chapter 9 The family next door is crying with envy

The Qiao family's lunch today was corn porridge, fried tofu, and two bowls of stir-fried vegetables.

Compared with many rural families nowadays, this is already very good, but there is really not much profit.

"What a nice meaty smell, who's stewing meat?"

Qiao Zhijie's nose twitched and he exclaimed in surprise.

He spent all day thinking about how to steal and improve the food, and had a very keen sense of smell for meat.

"It smells so good, what kind of meat is stewed so deliciously, gulp!"

Father Qiao couldn't help swallowing his saliva, and felt that the food in his mouth tasted like wax.

"Could it be that Silly Awang's family is stewing meat?"

Mother Qiao looked at Chen Wang's house next door with a surprised look on her face, and murmured: "His daughter-in-law is too stupid, she is so willing to give up, will she not live a good life in the future?"

"I heard that silly Awang went to Lao Wang's house to steal chickens yesterday, and Lao Wang hit him with a carrying pole and he finally got wise?"

Old Joe looked at his son meaningfully.

“Ahem!!”

Qiao Zhijie coughed twice and complained, "Dad, why are you looking at me like that? It's none of my business."

"I'm your father, how could I not know what you were thinking? Without your instigation, would silly Awang do such a thing?"

Old Qiao rolled his eyes and said, "Fortunately no one was killed this time. Can you behave yourself in the future? If you really go to jail one day, I won't find it strange at all."

"Dad, what are you talking about!"

Qiao Zhijie smiled bitterly, decisively changed the subject, and cursed: "Damn, this silly Awang is so lucky to have such a good wife."

"Then we will also find you a mute wife. I remember there seems to be one in the next village."

Old Joe suggested unhappily.

"Is there a pretty and virtuous wife like Awang?"

"What are you thinking about?"

"Then forget it!"

Qiao Zhijie shook his head, picked up the bowl and drank the corn porridge in one gulp, then put down his bowl and chopsticks, stood up and left.

"Where did you die?"

Mother Qiao asked unhappily.

"I'll go next door and see if I can get a free meal."
