I stayed at home for two more days.
On Saturday morning, Chen Wang got on Uncle Zhao's tractor and went to Linjia Village to pick someone up.
Chen Wang took some venison, wild boar meat, pheasant and rabbit from home, and also took two sacks of rice produced from his own fields.
Just last month, Old Joe, who he entrusted to help him manage the fields, helped him harvest this year's rice.
The rice they grow here is medium-season rice, which is usually sown from mid-May to early June each year and harvested when it matures in mid-to-late September.

Uncle Zhao insisted on declining and said he would just sit in the car and wait.

"Ah? Are you leaving now? Stay and have lunch first!"
Father Lin said hurriedly.
"Yeah, why are you in such a hurry? Eat first and leave later."
"We've come all this way, how can we just leave? Go tell Uncle Zhao to come in for a cup of tea and a meal."
The two uncles immediately spoke up in agreement.
"Don't bother, just come over to our place to eat. Mom has been preparing the food since early morning, and she's waiting for us to come over now!"
Chen Wang persuaded with a smile.
Everyone in the Lin family looked at each other, some of them not knowing what to say.
"We two old guys won't go. Our bodies can't handle the round trip twice."
