Chapter 10 The First Pot of Gold

"Hehe! Mom is the best! Hehe!"

"You little brat!"

It turns out that Yang Yajing knew that Zhang Aijia had a good friend from their time working in the countryside who was now doing business at a processing plant.

This processing plant does screen printing for clothing. Yang Yajing, 36, used to run errands for many of these printing tasks when she was a teaching assistant at university.

Although paper printing and fabric printing are not quite the same, Yang Yajing has her own set of experiences.

Zhou Pengfei arrived in less than an hour.

"You want me to start the work? What work? I don't know how to make pastries!" As soon as Zhou Pengfei sat down, Yang Yajing brought out noodles and placed them in front of him.

"Who gave you permission to make pastries? Are they even edible?"

"Then what kind of work do you want me to do?" Zhou Pengfei asked, puzzled.

"I want you to draw! I want a festive pattern, a square cloth, two colors!" Yang Yajing explained.

"That's it? That's easy! A piece of cake!" Zhou Pengfei was relieved. So he was being asked to do something he was good at. "But what's the canvas cloth for?"

"Use it as gift packaging!" Yang Yajing said with a smile. "Don't forget to sign it. When you become famous, you can sell it for a high price!"

"Are you obsessed with money?" Zhou Pengfei glared at Yang Yajing. "You get all the benefits, and I'm just doing all the hard work for you, like a bowl of noodles?"

"That makes sense. How about I give you a share?"

"Revenue sharing? What's that?"

"Consider this your design fee; I'll pay you one cent for each scarf!"

"A dime? What can you buy with a dime? A pencil?"

"Is your math really that bad?" Yang Yajing said, both amused and exasperated. "120 boxes, one cent per box, that's 12 yuan in total! Enough for you to buy several boxes of pencils!"

"You're going to give me 12 yuan for drawing a picture? You must be kidding me!" Twelve yuan! That's a whole month's allowance for him!

"It wasn't me who gave it; it was your dad, the school principal, who paid for it. I'm just a construction worker!"

"Move what? Bricks?" Zhou Pengfei always felt that Yang Yajing's words always contained words he couldn't understand.

"Hehe! It's nothing, I'm just asking if you want these 12 yuan?" Yang Yajing said vaguely. She knew that there might be too many modern words, and it was indeed inappropriate for Jincheng, which was only in 1991.

“Okay! Deal!” Zhou Pengfei readily agreed.
