Jiang Xuanxuan was a little disappointed to see that Yang Yajing had returned quickly. She didn't know whether Yang Yajing had given her a blood transfusion or not, but Yang Yajing seemed to be fine.
Why did the doctor say there would be problems if she wanted a blood transfusion, but nothing happened if Yang Yajing wanted one? Was it just because of her weight?
Jiang Xuanxuan wanted Madam Xia to owe her a favor, but she wouldn't gain weight because of it.
She weighs only 80 pounds and is still dieting! If she were to exceed 100 pounds and become as fleshy as Yang Yajing, she wouldn't want to!
Actually, Yang Yajing is already very thin at 167cm tall and 110kg, not at all like the image of being all fleshy that Jiang Xuanxuan described.
Perhaps the world's standards are too focused on being skinny, which is a bit abnormal?
The surgery went smoothly, and Yang Yajing knew that Madam Xia was not seriously injured, but had lost a lot of blood.
For people who are already anemic, excessive bleeding can be quite troublesome, and they may need to take a period of recuperation and nutrition afterward.
Jiang Xuanxuan thought, "Why is this surgery taking so long? How boring!" But just as she was about to say something or ask something, her phone rang.
When she answered the phone, she was met with a rapid, angry shout, followed by an order for her to go home immediately and not go anywhere else! No matter what the matter was, she was told to go straight home!
Jiang Xuanxuan arrived in an ambulance; her car was still parked at the food court. They seemed to be in a great hurry, so she had to give up on waiting for Madam Xia.
"Yang Yang, Xuanxuan has some urgent business at home and has to go." Jiang Xuanxuan reminded Yang Yajing, "Remember to let Xuanxuan know when President Tao wakes up?"
"Go take care of what you need to do first, don't delay us." Yang Yajing was still very polite, neither agreeing nor refusing Jiang Xuanxuan's request.
Yang Yajing would not take the initiative to tell Jiang Xuanxuan about Madam Xia's situation, but she also knew that Jiang Xuanxuan would not give up so easily.
Mrs. Xia's surgery went smoothly, and she was taken to her ward in about an hour.
After consulting with the doctor, I learned that she had a dislocated ankle and a fractured shinbone, and was put in a cast. At her age, the cast should be removed in about six to eight weeks.
As for the wrists and elbows, they are just abrasions, which can be treated with band-aids and liniment; it's not a big problem.
Yang Yajing requested a single room when she went through the procedures, so the environment was quite nice.
Sitting in the ward, Yang Yajing waited for Mrs. Xia to wake up while contacting her family to tell them that something had happened here and she might be late getting home today.
Xia Changlong hasn't replied to the message yet, and Yang Yajing feels something is amiss, so she makes a long-distance call to Xu Wenbin.
"Uncle Xu, we can't get in touch with Boss Xia. Could you help us find out what happened?" Yang Yajing asked.
"Ya Jing, don't you know yet?" Xu Wenbin had just received the news, "The Xia family is cooperating with the tax bureau's investigation. President Xia is probably having tea at the bureau right now!"
"Huh? Didn't you say we wouldn't be implicated?" Yang Yajing asked, puzzled.
"It was President Xia himself who requested this before the operation, saying that this was the only way to avoid suspicion in the eyes of the Xia family," Xu Wenbin explained.
"He changed his plans without even telling us beforehand? Is he senile? He made our CEO Tao so anxious that he had a car accident!" Yang Yajing complained.
"What? Mrs. Xia was in a car accident? How is she?" Xu Wenbin asked anxiously and worriedly.
"He's alright! His calf and ankle are in casts, he's still under anesthesia," Yang Yajing said. "Could you please contact Secretary Huang for me and have him call me? I need him to handle anything. Thank you, Uncle Xu!"
"Don't be so polite, girl. I'll contact him right away. Hang up now?" Not long after hanging up, Yang Yajing's phone rang.
"Ms. Yang? Assistant Xu said that your wife was in a car accident? Is it serious? Is there anything I can do to help?" Secretary Huang asked a barrage of questions as soon as the call connected.
"We'll discuss the details when you arrive. First, go to the Xia family's house and get some clean clothes and toiletries; they'll be needed when the person wakes up." After giving the instructions, Yang Yajing provided the address and room number and continued to wait.
It was almost evening, and Yang Yajing was worried about staying there and didn't want to leave, so she sent a text message asking Secretary Huang to bring some food over.
When Secretary Huang arrived, he brought a large travel bag and two boxed lunches. Something had happened at the company, and he hadn't even had lunch yet, so he was combining the two meals into one.
"What's going on with Boss Xia?" Yang Yajing asked while tidying up the things Secretary Huang had brought.
"President Xia said it's nothing serious, just routine. Work phones have been handed in, and personal phones can't be turned on. They probably won't be out until tonight," Secretary Huang said, as if giving a report.
"Okay, have something to eat! I'll need your help going to the traffic police later." Yang Yajing said as she opened her lunchbox and sat down at the table.
"How could it be such a coincidence that your wife was in a car accident?" Xu Wenbin asked while eating.
"A coincidence?" Yang Yajing narrowed her eyes. "It is somewhat of a coincidence!"
Xu Wenbin sensed the hidden meaning in Yang Yajing's words and immediately became serious.
Yang Yajing took out Mrs. Xia's phone from her pocket, tapped the caller ID, and asked, "Do you recognize this number?"
Secretary Huang glanced at it and his eyes widened immediately: "Young Master? Why is Young Master calling his teacher's wife?"
“The eldest son? Xia Junhu?” Yang Yajing recalled Madam Xia’s expression at the time. “Ha! No wonder your teacher’s wife was so impatient when she answered the phone.”
"What does Miss Yang want me to do with the traffic police?"
"There are security cameras at the entrance of the food court. Go and save the footage, then take it over and have them check the taxi's license plate and driver. Also, pick up Mr. Tao's car and drive it back." Yang Yajing was very organized.
