After Jiang Xuanxuan and Wang Xiuzhen went out for a beauty treatment, they almost forgot all their worries at home.
The two were strolling around the mall when they ran into Yang Yajing and Mrs. Xia.
Mrs. Xia had nothing to do that day and originally planned to invite Yang Yajing out for a nice meal, but Yang Yajing was just about to dye her hair again.
Mrs. Xia hadn't done her hair in a long time, and her shoulder-length hair had some gray hairs at her temples, so she decided to dye her hair together with Yang Yajing.
Mrs. Xia gets her hair done with a VIP card from a high-end hair salon, so Wang Xiuzhen and Jiang Xuanxuan saw the two of them while they were shopping.
"Oh! Isn't this Yangyang?" Jiang Xuanxuan entered the room arm in arm with Wang Xiuzhen. "Getting your hair done?"
Yang Yajing still had her hair highlighted, and now her head was covered in aluminum foil. When she heard Jiang Xuanxuan's voice, she looked up at her reflection in the mirror.
"Jiang Xuanxuan? You're here to get your hair done too?" Yang Yajing asked casually.
"Where? Xuanxuan and her mother just finished their beauty treatments and were shopping when they happened to see Yangyang." Jiang Xuanxuan said, looking around.
Jiang Xuanxuan knew this hair salon; it was ridiculously expensive and required appointments. She guessed that someone as "poor" as Yang Yajing definitely wouldn't have come there on her own.
Sure enough, she soon saw Mrs. Xia, who had just washed her hair, walking over.
"Oh! It's Mrs. Xia!" Jiang Xuanxuan beamed. "No wonder I saw Yangyang here. I was just wondering why Yangyang was so generous all of a sudden, willing to spend money on his hair!"
Mrs. Xia nodded slightly to Jiang Xuanxuan, sat down in the seat next to Yang Yajing, and while Tony dried her hair, asked Yang Yajing, "Who is this girl?"
“Old classmate, Jiang Xuanxuan,” Yang Yajing said casually.
Mrs. Xia nodded again, and instead of talking to Jiang Xuanxuan anymore, she picked up a hair magazine and asked Yang Yajing, "I want to get a perm, which one do you think looks good?"
“This is a natural, big curl, right? It doesn’t make you look old, and the slight curl looks quite natural.” Yang Yajing deliberately ignored Jiang Xuanxuan and instead pointed to a hairstyle in a magazine to answer Mrs. Xia.
"Mrs. Xia isn't old at all! Yang Yang's words are really unpleasant to hear!" Since no one paid any attention to Jiang Xuanxuan, she stepped in herself. "Mrs. Xia is young and beautiful, she can pull off any hairstyle, how could she look old?"
Mrs. Xia glanced at Jiang Xuanxuan, then pointed to the hairstyle Yang Yajing had chosen and said to Tony, "How about this? Dye the temples a little to cover up some gray hair?"
"Mrs. Xia, this hairstyle looks like it wasn't permed at all, it's so unfashionable!" Jiang Xuanxuan pointed to another picture, "This is the trendy one!"
Mrs. Xia looked at the picture and exclaimed in surprise, "Is it fashionable to perm your hair like instant noodles now?"
Yang Yajing glanced at it and said, "College students nowadays like non-mainstream styles; this is called a corn perm."
"Instant noodles and corn again? Just put your head in the pot and you've got a pot of soup. Why is this so popular?" Mrs. Xia said with disapproval.
"It's just unconventional! People who like singing and dancing." Yang Yajing said dismissively.
"So she wants me to go square dancing with ramen noodle hair?" Mrs. Xia pretended to suddenly realize.
“Mrs. Xia, how could Xuanxuan dare to let you dance that kind of shameful and low-class square dance?” Jiang Xuanxuan shook her head. “With Mrs. Xia’s status, if you’re going to dance, it should be ballroom dancing at a dance party!”
"Ya Jing..." Madam Xia, that old rascal, started acting at this moment, "Does your old classmate have a problem with me? Saying I'm not classy!"
"Sister Tao, as long as you like it, that's all that matters. Don't worry about what others say, okay?" Yang Yajing readily agreed, coaxing Madam Xia, "Jiang Xuanxuan's family is very wealthy. She just doesn't care about group fitness and leisure activities that are good for her mind and body."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Xuanxuan quickly explained, "How could Xuanxuan dare to say that Mrs. Xia is low-class! Xuanxuan meant that those who dance in the square are all middle-aged women who have no achievements, not Mrs. Xia!"
"She also said I hadn't accomplished anything, that I was just an old lady..." Madam Xia continued her act, but a wicked smile crept into her eyes as she looked at Yang Yajing.
"She's talking about my mom, not you, Sister Tao! Relax! Relax!" Yang Yajing continued to coax her with a smile.
"Ya Jing, does she have a problem with you? She even belittles your mother? You should avoid contact with people like that in the future," Madam Xia continued, displaying her childish temper.
"Don't worry, Sister Tao! We're from different worlds and don't really have any contact. If you want to continue dancing, I can help you arrange a date with my mom tonight?"
"Yang Yang! Yang Yang is really something! It's one thing for Yang's mother to want to do square dancing, but she also has to drag Mrs. Xia into it. Isn't that lowering Mrs. Xia's standard of living?" Jiang Xuanxuan said with a look of disgust.
"Ahem!" Yang Yajing coughed lightly and whispered a reminder, "Jiang Xuanxuan, could you please say less?"
"Yang Yang, this is where Yang Yang is wrong!" Jiang Xuanxuan completely ignored the hint. "Yang Yang is trying to get close to Madam Xia, so he should be learning from Madam Xia and pursuing a more refined image. How could he be dragging her down to the common people!"
Alright! If Jiang Xuanxuan doesn't take the hint, then don't blame Yang Yajing for not reminding her.
"So what if you're from humble background? Everyone has roots. Only when you're firmly rooted will you not drift away! Just because you have a little money doesn't mean you're something special. Young man, haven't you learned to be steady and pragmatic?" Madam Xia was indeed displeased.
"Xuanxuan didn't..." Jiang Xuanxuan was still not giving up, "Xuanxuan was just afraid that if everyone knew that Madam Xia actually danced in public square dancing, people would laugh at her!"
"Won't people laugh at me?" Mrs. Xia glanced at Jiang Xuanxuan in the mirror, then took out her phone and said to Yang Yajing, "Post it online and see who laughs at me."
"Are you really going to make a move?" Yang Yajing wondered if Madam Xia was going a bit too far. Wouldn't this make her famous again?
