Chapter 2: You must draw cards before you can make a move.

The computer on the desk was gone, replaced by a neat stack of summer homework. The desk itself looked exactly the same; the calendar on it was already turned to September, but hadn't been marked with an X yet.

The year 1990 was prominently displayed on the line. Turning around, the reflection in the wardrobe mirror was clearly that of myself at age ten.

A familiar smell of cooking oil wafted through the scorching air, and the sounds of customers and the market could be faintly heard.

Is she dreaming, or has she really gone back to her childhood?

Whether it was a dream or a real rebirth, Yang Yajing didn't want to dwell on it. Since heaven had given her a chance to start over, she was determined to seize it and reshuffle the deck!

She was determined to live a life worthy of being called human! And those who had bullied her... she wouldn't let any of them get away with it easily!

She sat quietly for a while, looking around at the incredibly familiar surroundings, feeling nostalgic.

In 1990, when my parents were still alive, the courtyard of this ground-floor one-room house facing the street was converted into a food stall.

The kitchen, originally only ten square meters, was transformed into her little world by her skillful father. In those days, very few children had their own rooms, so she was quite lucky back then!

As she opened the door, she saw her father, whom she hadn't seen for eighteen years, greeting the guests who had come to enjoy breakfast. Tears of relief welled up in his eyes.

"Dad!" Yang Yajing called out that long-lost word, quickly stepped forward and hugged him tightly around the waist, "It's so good to have you here! I missed you so much!"

"Hahaha! Why is Xiao Yajing being so sweet-talking today?" Father Yang Guohua smiled and looked down, patting Xiao Yajing's head. "Looks like I'll have to let you sleep in more often from now on!"

Mother Sylvia Chang looked up from the stove and teased with a smile, "Kids like you love to sleep, and you're already being nice by making you get up early every day to help chop vegetables!"

"Mom!" Yang Yajing let go of Yang Guohua and leaned against Zhang Aijia's back. "Mom is the best!"

It feels so good to have something back after something was lost!

School starts in two days, September 3rd, a day she will never forget.

On that day in her previous life, she met Zhou Pengfei.

Zhou Pengfei is a handsome boy with a strong artistic flair, the kind of charming gentleman that girls dream of.

In the 1990s, there was no such thing as a "school heartthrob" in Jincheng, but if we put it in today's terms, he would be a standard school heartthrob, right?

He wasn't very talkative, but his emotions and thoughts, whether praise or ridicule, would be transformed into humorous comic strips.

36-year-old Yang Yajing is reserved and calm, a low-key woman whose edges have been worn down by life. But what about her when she was ten years old...? Yang Yajing recalls.

At the age of ten, Yang Yajing was a mischievous, chattering, and optimistic little myna bird. Her favorite thing to do was to immerse herself in daydreams, and she had a keen interest in everything.

She fondly remembers her carefree childhood self. Now, with another opportunity to avoid the struggles of life, she tries to recapture that feeling and return to being her "little myna bird."

In her previous life, after the opening ceremony, Yang Yajing had a sudden inspiration and hung upside down on the horizontal bar in the playground, looking at the upside-down world.

Back then, there were no uniforms, so Yang Yajing wore bell-bottoms on her lower body and a short dress on her upper body, which was a rather strange outfit.

When she was hanging upside down on the horizontal bar, her skirt rode up, revealing her belly button. Her long pigtails were used as a broom on the ground, swaying and brushing away the dirt.

Her hands were still gesturing playfully, like arranging little soldiers, manipulating the upside-down crowd.

This scene piqued Zhou Pengfei's interest, and he quickly sketched a cartoon of an upside-down Superman in his sketchbook.

In this life, Yang Yajing had no intention of changing the way their paths crossed. The cards were still the same; even if they were reshuffled, how could one play them without drawing cards?

She remembers clearly what she did and said that day. At 36, her soul needs time to process the innocence of her teens.

It was the same playground, the same horizontal bar. Yang Yajing hesitated for a moment as she put down her heavy schoolbag full of new books.

I haven't touched a horizontal bar in over twenty years. Will I fall flat on my face as soon as I step on it?

But if she didn't hang there, she wouldn't attract Zhou Pengfei's attention, and there wouldn't be any further interaction... With a heavy heart, Yang Yajing gripped the horizontal bar firmly with both hands and pushed off with her legs.

Sure enough, her body was still as flexible as when she was 10 years old. With a slight bend of her knees over the horizontal bar, she hung steadily on it.

She breathed a sigh of relief and smiled with satisfaction; the smile was radiant on the little girl's face. She had actually noticed Zhou Pengfei drawing by the playground a while ago, but she deliberately avoided looking at him.

Sure enough, Zhou Pengfei noticed Yang Yajing, turned a page in his notebook, and quickly sketched a new piece. He smiled at the notebook as he drew.

"What are you drawing? Is it funny?" Yang Yajing secretly ran up behind Zhou Pengfei while he was drawing with his head down.

"Ah!" Zhou Pengfei was startled and quickly covered the notebook with his hand.

"Stop covering it up! I saw it a long time ago! Is this a drawing of me?" Yang Yajing laughed as she sat down next to him. "Why does my belly button fire missiles? And why does my hair look like a broom?"

"Uh...that..." Caught red-faced, Zhou Pengfei felt a little awkward, and his reddened ears were especially cute.

"That's a really good drawing! Little artist?" Yang Yajing continued playfully, "Anything else? Share it?"

"No!" Zhou Pengfei closed his notebook and turned his head away.

"Hey! I didn't charge you for being a model! It's an equal exchange!" Yang Yajing jumped up, hands on her hips, half instigating and half threatening.
