"Are you sick? What would Ya Jing do with our class funds?" Wu Huanyun was the first to retort.
Yang Yajing remained calm and composed; she had long anticipated this turn of events. Yu Ning, however, was baffled: Why would someone she didn't even know start spouting nonsense?
"Chen Jiaoyun, do you know this person?" Yu Ning asked Chen Jiaoyun in confusion.
“It’s from our class, class monitor Wu Huan and art committee member Wang Qin.” Chen Jiaoyun pointed to the two aggressive individuals.
"How do you know our names?" Yu Ning had never met these two people before.
"Oh my! Yu Ning! Anyone with eyes would know you're so pretty, right?" Chen Jiaoyun winked at her. "As for Ya Jing, she's a regular in our class!"
"Why do you say we stole your class funds?" Yu Ning nodded and asked the two men.
“Just now, after we left the office, only the two of you went to the office before the teacher went back. Who else could it be but you?” Wang Qin said.
"Yes! They went inside for quite a while. They must have seen the money in the envelope and got the wrong idea!" Wu Huan added.
"A while? How did you know? Were you watching us?" Yang Yajing said with a half-smile. "Could it be that you knew the money would be less, so you paid the money but didn't leave, and continued to watch the office?"
"You're talking nonsense!" Wang Qin retorted somewhat guiltily.
“We heard it from others!” Wu Huan tugged at Wang Qin.
"who?"
"How would I know if I don't know her?" Wu Huan continued to argue illogically.
"Someone you don't even know comes to tattle on you?" Chen Jiaoyun rolled her eyes at them. "You're really popular!"
“We didn’t take any money; we just went to hand in the collected assignments,” Yu Ning tried to explain.
"Hmph! You two are the only ones who've been in there. Now that the money's less, who else could it be but you?" Wu Huan wouldn't back down.
By this time, the onlookers in the cafeteria had pretty much figured it out! It turned out that their class funds were missing, and they suspected that Yu Ning and Yang Yajing had stolen them.
