Yu Ning and Chen Jiaoyun stood in front of the desk, while Wu Huan and Wang Qin stood arrogantly beside the teacher, as if they were being interrogated in a government office.
"Yu Ning, Yang Yajing, our class fund is short by more than 600 yuan. Wu Huan and Wang Qin told me that you took it. Is that true?" the teacher asked.
"No." Yang Yajing shook her head.
Outside the door, onlookers in the cafeteria peeked out from the corridor windows, while those inside the door gossiped about the unfolding events.
In a top-tier high school, where students usually just study hard, such farces are rare, especially since it involves two top-performing beauties from the elite class. Who wouldn't be curious?
"Classmates, we must be honest. I heard they left the money on the table until I returned, and only the two of you came to the office. And coincidentally, the money was missing. Are you sure you didn't take it?"
"What a coincidence! We really didn't take it. Could it be that there wasn't that much money in the envelope to begin with?" Yang Yajing looked at Wang Qin.
"Stop slandering me, you thief!" Wang Qin shouted urgently.
"Teacher, do you trust Wang Qin and Wu Huan's character?" Yang Yajing asked the teacher in return.
"One is the class monitor, and the other is the arts and culture representative. They are both key members who play a leading role, and I believe they wouldn't lie," the teacher replied after thinking for a moment.
"Does that mean the teacher doesn't believe us?" Yang Yajing pouted.
"Sigh! To be honest, you two are among the best students I've ever taught, and I can't believe you would steal money. So I want to find out what really happened." The teacher was caught in a dilemma.
"How can you explain this clearly?" Pang Yan interjected from the doorway. "How about we make each of these four people pay 250 yuan?"
"You're the idiot! Yu Ning would never steal money! Her allowance is more than double!" Yu Ning's fans retorted.
