After hitting someone, Jiang Xuanxuan thought the person was dead and panicked when she got home.
But he was drunk and couldn't explain what was going on, which infuriated Jiang Jucai.
It was a perfectly good opening party for a club, and the plan was to introduce his daughter to the sons of wealthy businessmen and make her a familiar face. Thinking that young people would be more relaxed with each other, he left the party early.
But to my surprise, this good-for-nothing daughter not only got drunk, but also drove without a license and killed someone! In the middle of the night, my blood pressure spiked, and I was so angry that I kept cursing.
But he only has this one precious daughter, and he can't possibly let her take responsibility and be locked up in a juvenile detention center.
"Little Pang?" After venting his anger, Jiang Jucai smiled and said to the young man who had driven Jiang Xuanxuan home, "My Xuanxuan is being naughty and has caused you trouble. Uncle Jiang apologizes!"
The man Jiang Jucai referred to as "Little Pang" was the son of one of Jiang Jucai's clients, named Pang Yuxiang.
Pang Yuxiang's family owns a food processing plant, which supplies various food products to Jiang Jucai's chain of supermarkets.
He's 25 this year and works as a manager in his father's factory. He spends his time doing business with his father and attending company-funded meals; he's already a seasoned veteran in the business world.
"Uncle Jiang, how do you plan to resolve this?" Pang Yuxiang knew that Jiang Jucai wouldn't let anything happen to Jiang Xuanxuan, but he didn't want to be implicated either.
“Little Pang! Uncle Jiang only has one daughter, and your dad only has one son…” Jiang Jucai’s eyes darted around, “You didn’t get in Xuanxuan’s car today, and Xuanxuan has never driven that car before, right?”
Upon hearing Jiang Jucai's words, Pang Yuxiang immediately understood, but said, "The car is still in the garage. If someone investigates, it has nothing to do with me!"
"Is the car still in the garage? Xiao Pang, you're confused! There's no car in my garage!" Jiang Jucai said again.
"I understand. Uncle Jiang, I'll head home now," Pang Yuxiang nodded and took his leave, not forgetting to remind him, "There definitely won't be any parking spaces in the garage tomorrow morning, right?"
"There's definitely no car left. It was stolen a long time ago. Where would there be a car?" Jiang Jucai was very certain, and he didn't forget to add, "Our two families are business partners. I'll go talk to your dad about a good business deal sometime tomorrow."
After Pang Yuxiang left, Jiang Jucai called his personal assistant and drove the sports car into a river in the suburbs overnight to destroy the evidence.
After waiting in the living room for three or four hours, estimating that Jiang Xuanxuan should be sober by now, I had the maid wake her up.
Jiang Xuanxuan, who hadn't had enough sleep, started throwing a tantrum as soon as she was woken up, taking advantage of her morning grumpiness.
The shrill shout only irritated Jiang Jucai further. After dismissing the servants, he closed the door and yelled at Jiang Xuanxuan, "What are you shouting for! Look at yourself! You're a disgrace! Do you know what trouble you caused last night?"
Mentioning the word "trouble," Jiang Xuanxuan rubbed her still-aching forehead, as memories flooded back.
"Ah! Dad! I hit someone with my car! Help me! I don't want to go to jail!" Jiang Xuanxuan realized the urgency of the situation and tears streamed down her face as she thought about her bright future that was about to be ruined.
As he cried, his eyeshadow and mascara blended into a blotchy red, black, and blue color along with his foundation, making it unbearable for Jiang Jucai to look at.
"Go wash your face! Look at the mess you make!" Jiang Jucai frowned.
She rubbed her eyes and saw the filth on the back of her hand. Then she exclaimed "Ah!" and rushed into the bathroom.
After a while, she finally removed her makeup, washed away the smell of alcohol, changed into her pajamas, and came out.
"Dad! What should I do! You're so resourceful, you have to help me think of a solution! I don't want to go to jail!"
Jiang Jucai glared at Jiang Xuanxuan before saying, "Now you're in a hurry? Why weren't you in a hurry when you were drinking? Why weren't you in a hurry when you were drunk and insisted on driving? Why weren't you in a hurry when you failed your driving test three or four times?"
"Dad..." Jiang Xuanxuan pouted, not entirely convinced. "I don't care! I don't want to go to jail! I'm Mom's only daughter! If you dare send me to jail, I'll make sure Mom never forgives you!"
Jiang Xuanxuan's mother's name is Wang Xiuzhen. This Wang Xiuzhen is not a reasonable and virtuous woman; she's more like a shrew. Trying to reason with her is completely futile.
Jiang Jucai didn't have much affection for Wang Xiuzhen. He chose to marry her because of the dowry from the Wang family that could help him rise to prominence.
Although Wang Xiuzhen didn't think much of Jiang Jucai, she doted on her daughter. She married Jiang Jucai hoping to live a comfortable life in the future.
With Jiang Jucai working hard outside, she can stay away from the hard life of a nine-to-five job and just be a rich housewife at home.
In Wang Xiuzhen's heart, there is only herself and her daughter; no one else exists.
Even Jiang Jucai was nothing more than a man who used her dowry to work for her.
Therefore, although Jiang Jucai was successful outside, he had no status at home.
Jiang Jucai knew that if he didn't help his daughter, Wang Xiuzhen would never let it go.
"Jiang Xuanxuan, listen carefully!" Jiang Jucai made Jiang Xuanxuan sit down. "You didn't drive yesterday; your car was stolen long ago!"
"No way, Dad!" Jiang Xuanxuan shook her head. "The people at the club saw my car and even came to look at it!"
"You! You! You!" Jiang Jucai was extremely annoyed by her vain face, which was exactly the same as Wang Xiuzhen's. "Sigh!"
After thinking for a moment, Jiang Jucai asked again, "How many people saw you drive away from the club?"
"Oh! No, not at all." Jiang Xuanxuan shook her head. "Everyone had already left when I came out."
“I understand.” Jiang Jucai nodded. “Then we’ll say your car was stolen at the club and you didn’t drive home.”
