Before she knew it, the day of the class reunion arrived. Yang Yajing came up with a unique idea: she deliberately wore only light makeup and no fancy dress.
She still looked like a fairy, all fresh and clean, as she went to the banquet. However, when Madam Xia heard that it was Jiang Xuanxuan's affair, she insisted on carrying a designer handbag for her.
"Sister Tao! Aren't you wasting your money?" Yang Yajing felt it was unnecessary.
"Pshaw! A woman's handbag is a symbol of status in the rich! You have to choose one! Do you prefer Gucci or Chanel? Your sister Tao will pay!" Mrs. Xia said domineeringly.
"Sister Tao, those are all too expensive, with huge trademarks!" Yang Yajing shook her head.
"Big brand? Great! Let's buy Prada!" Without saying a word, Mrs. Xia pulled Yang Yajing into the Prada store, picked a low-key one, and swiped her card without blinking.
Yang Yajing thought to herself, "Luckily I have a car, otherwise, carrying a Prada on the bus would be terrifying."
"Remember, to put on airs, don't worry about the price of the bag. Just put it on the ground and act like you don't care about the price of this bag!" Madam Xia even taught her how to behave.
"Sister Tao! You're really willing to do that?"
"You have to be willing to sacrifice! You absolutely must be willing to sacrifice! Don't embarrass Sister Tao, understand?"
How could Yang Yajing not remember? She nodded repeatedly.
Madam Xia's aura was so powerful that even wearing cheap clothes couldn't hide her domineering presence. If Yang Yajing wanted to outdo Jiang Xuanxuan, she had to learn from her and master her skills.
So, while all the other women carefully hung their bags on the back of their chairs or placed them on their laps, Yang Yajing just slammed her bag down on the ground with a thud, which certainly drew a few more glances.
Everyone was thinking: What kind of bag is this? Why is it so carelessly handled? It's probably a cheap one, right?
