Chapter 421 Prairie

The blue sky, the clear lake, the green grassland, the galloping horses, the white sheep. The prairie is indeed a paradise.

Sitting in the car, the clouds are moving, the birds are flying, the mountains in the distance are full of wild apricots, yurts are lined up one after another, there are wisps of smoke rising from the yurts, the sheep are returning from grazing, and the sunset casts red clouds on the horizon, all of which show people the charm and magic of the prairie.

"The Guandong region produces prime ministers, the Guanxi region produces generals, and the Jiangnan region produces talented scholars."

The strong men riding their steeds galloped across the vast grasslands, their skillful movements and swift speeds worthy of a nation that conquered the world on horseback.

We set off at five in the morning, and with two trucks speeding all the way, we finally arrived at the pastoral area as the sun set.

At this moment, everyone did not feel tired from the journey, and the scenery along the way was breathtakingly beautiful.

Different from the turbulent sea and the gentle water towns of the south of the Yangtze River, the prairie has conquered the world with its unique charm.

When they arrived at the pastoral area, Zhao Dashan brought Zhang Guoqing and a few others to a yurt and found his good friend Zamu.

The hospitable middle-aged Zamu used their local customs and etiquette to solemnly receive the group of people. Fortunately, Zhao Dashan had specially instructed everyone on some etiquette before they came, so they finally did not act rudely.

The two trucks continued to drive to the military horse farm under the leadership of Zhao Dashan, and Zamu's family also welcomed many Mongolian people in robes to watch the fun.

I heard that Zhang Guoqing and his friends had come here with their children to enjoy the prairie. The hospitable old people proudly introduced the surrounding attractions and recounted the legends of their tribe.

Zamu's youngest daughter helped translate, sometimes sprinkling in Mongolian when anxious. The cheerful and generous little girl's occasional laughter put everyone at ease.

The dinner included hand-pulled meat, mutton rib soup, pies, and kumis. It was a feast so rich that everyone was reluctant to leave.

As night falls, I look up at the stars in the sky, a cool breeze blows by, local songs fill my ears, and the cries of sheep, cows, and horses can be heard in the distance.

The scenery in the pastoral area tonight is beautiful, and the people are even more beautiful. The beauty is so broad-minded that it makes people forget the world.

The next morning, everyone got up early, had breakfast, and followed Uncle Zamu, who drove a herd of cattle and sheep, to the nearby lake.

Along the way, we learned from Uncle Zamu that we were a few days late, as the grand horse racing festival on the grassland had just passed. This made everyone feel very regretful.

Zhang Guoqing was holding his son and heard that the horse racing meeting was also a material exchange meeting. The herdsmen, including the elderly and children, set up densely packed tents to exchange their own meat, ghee, lake salt, cordyceps, and Fritillaria, and bought the production and living supplies needed for a whole year.

He was very surprised. He didn't expect there was a market here.

After Uncle Zamu's explanation, everyone realized that apart from the material transactions at the horse racing meeting, they had to go to the supply and marketing cooperative in the town to buy at other times.

Zhou Jiao winked at Zhang Guoqing. Management was lax these days, so it was a good opportunity to go to the town and check on the situation.

Before the couple had finished communicating, Zhang Yuntao and his friends were already anxious to consult Uncle Zamu, as they planned to bring some local specialties back.

Zhang Guoqing listened to their conversation, put Ping An aside, and let him pick wildflowers. He himself picked a bunch of flowers, made a wreath, and placed it on Zhou Jiao's head. He took a camera from his backpack and took a picture of his wife and son, determined to capture their smiles in the camera.

We shouldn't waste precious time like those fools, still discussing food, drink, and the toilet. Meat is plentiful on the prairie. And kumis is available in all the quantities you desire.

Zhang Guoqing and his family of three happily played nearby for over an hour. Finally, Li Qinglin discovered the camera and called everyone over.

After Zhang Guoqing finished taking a family photo of the three of them, he changed the film and finally handed the camera to them. He then took his wife and son to the meadow to look for wild duck eggs.

When Zamu saw this group of young people, he sighed that he was getting old and these kids really knew how to have fun.

He is really good at playing! Zhang Guoqing is a master at playing with many tricks.

Soon, Zhao Yuanyuan and the others realized they had to follow Zhang Guoqing. Without noticing that everyone else was fishing, he had already cast his net and landed a full catch.

It was almost noon when everyone returned home with a satisfied look on their faces. If he hadn't reminded them to have someone take them horseback riding that afternoon, they would have been so excited that they would have wanted to go deeper into the grassland.

Zhang Guoqing has experienced the thrill of galloping, but the feeling of being free and unrestrained is indescribable. The bumpy ride on the red date horse gave him a stomachache. There is still a gap between imagination and reality.

Fortunately, his excellent archery skills allowed him to win the prize. Seeing the fallen wild animal in the grass, he finally did not lose face for his grandfather.

Uncle Zamu was worried that these young people would not know the consequences and run into a dangerous area. Although they seemed to be surrounded by peace and safety, there were wolves deep in the grasslands.

On the third day, Uncle Zamu personally drove them to town. Before they'd even finished their tour, a bus bound for the city took the young men away. He watched the smiling faces disappear with worry. If these were his sons, he'd definitely beat these wild brats to death.

Zhang Guoqing and his group were unaware of Uncle Zamu's worries. During the week that Zhao Dashan came to pick them up, they were desperate to run around.

As usual, after getting off the bus, they checked into the guesthouse first. Each of them took the bath ticket Zhang Guoqing had bought at a high price and rushed to the bathhouse to take a bath.

Men can still jump into the lake and swim these days, but Zhou Jiao and Zhao Yuanyuan are very pitiful. At this moment, Ping An was taken away by Zhang Guoqing and others, and the two girls ran inside excitedly.

With plenty of time, a group of us stayed in the city to look for delicious food and local specialties. Unfortunately, apart from snacks, we can only order special dishes in restaurants nowadays.

After a few days, everyone had spent almost all their money, so they finally gave up and reluctantly boarded the bus back to town, carrying their bags.

Uncle Zamu was extremely anxious. The children had been away for so many days, and he had only sent a telegram. He didn't know what to do. If there was any mistake, how would he explain it to his old friend?

Finally, he received the second telegram: the naughty kids had finally returned. He had been waiting at the bus stop since early morning, but didn't see anyone until the afternoon. He even found himself wanting to cry.

On the way back, Uncle Zamu laughed out loud listening to everyone talking about the interesting things that happened during the trip. He was really impressed by the young people.

Seeing some pedestrians on the street wearing ragged clothes, dragging their children and carrying bags, Uncle Zamu felt that it was necessary to teach the children to be more careful and not just play around, but to learn more.

As they got further away, he whispered to Zhang Guoqing and the others that those behind them were recent refugees from the famine inland. They were still seeking shelter in the tribe. Now that the weather wasn't cold, the lucky ones might find shelter, but the unlucky ones didn't know if the town would send them back home.

Uncle Zamu's words made everyone wake up from their happy days. No one was foolish enough to ask Uncle Zamu why their tribe would not accept them.

Everyone turned their heads in unison to look behind them. Looking at the pedestrians supporting each other, looking at each other, they could all feel the palpitations and shock brought by the heavy footsteps.
