Chapter 429 Couple Reporting

After completing the admission procedures, the couple thanked the department head, said goodbye to him, and followed the young counselor beside them to their dormitory.

Pushing the cart, the two listened to the instructor pointing out the buildings one by one and explaining them along the way.

Zhou Jiao quickly analyzed the information as Zhang Guoqing spoke with the counselor, a former senior student who stayed on campus and was now a lecturer.

The dormitory assigned to her and her husband by the school is not far from her husband's residence. This area is concentrated with single teachers, graduate students and some student dormitories.

As Counselor Wu took out the key, a few people came running from a distance, shouting "Xiaowu".

Zhang Guoqing had expected to run into someone he knew, but not so soon. It looked like this guy was one of those students, and he burst out laughing.

"When will you return to Beijing? Why didn't I get any news? We thought you would be back in a week at the earliest. Why didn't you come to school to look for me?"

The man who came was Wan Dayong, a fellow student from the compound who had just entered university last year. He was accompanied by three other unfamiliar male students.

"We just arrived last night and didn't have time to look for you. We didn't know you were at school. Where are you going?" Zhang Guoqing smiled and nodded to the people around him.

Wan Dayong happily went forward and hugged him, "Come, let me introduce you. This is my good friend Zhang Guoqing. And this is our hospital's treasure, his wife Zhou Jiao. How is she?"

After saying that, he winked at the other people.

Zhou Jiao knew without hesitation that this guy had definitely never said anything good about them in private. She smiled and nodded at the others.

"This is Zhang Lichang, Cheng Yige, and Wang Dacheng. The three of them live on the left side of our courtyard. Teacher Wu, can you show them the dormitories? Come on, let's talk inside."

Zhang Guoqing smiled apologetically at Counselor Wu.

"Xiao Wu, a few of us in the courtyard are all on the second floor of this building. It's very lively right now. I live in Room 206 on the second floor. If you need anything, just go there."

Zhang Guoqing was pushed forward by him and confirmed that they were all in the same building, and he felt relieved. However, he did not ask, and the other party was not curious about the couple's move-in, presumably they had expected it.

Entering the corridor, everything in front of him reminded Zhang Guoqing of his eldest sister's tube-shaped building. The only better thing about it was the lack of cooking fumes.

On the third floor, on the left side of the stairs, there was a sign saying "303" on the door. This was the couple's single dormitory. When they opened the door, they saw that it was indeed a double room like Fang Dayong and his friends.

There are two single beds inside and a desk by the window. The light is bright and you can see the beautiful scenery outside through the window.

Zhou Jiao was very satisfied with the conditions. The campus had a cafeteria, a bathhouse, a post office, and a service center. Living facilities were complete.

"It's the same as ours. We'll deal with it later. Xiaowu, why didn't your wife go to the university next door? All the other girls went there." Wan Dayong walked around the room with her on his back and nodded pretentiously.

Zhang Guoqing was too busy answering Fang Dayong's question. He was currently handing over the keys to counselor Wu and asking about some school activities.

Zhou Jiao laughed and said, "The university next door doesn't want me, so I can only hang out with you guys."

"Stop talking nonsense. We don't want you yet, but we know about your glorious deeds."

"Brother Wan, tell us what happened."

Wan Dayong smiled and shook his head, "It's just a joke. You guys take it seriously?" Some of the things his father told him were things about their compound, so how could he tell outsiders.

Seeing that Zhang Guoqing had finished his work, he quickly said, "Come on, I'll treat you two to a meal in the cafeteria."

"Come on, old bachelor, I have to go home to take care of my kids. Just keep the meal tickets and wait for school to start." Zhang Guoqing was also polite to him. They were all very familiar with each other, so there was no need to be too polite.

"Just do it, always bragging about having a son. What will happen if you get too busy to see the child?"

Zhang Guoqing made sure nothing was left out, collected his keys, and sent the enthusiastic counselor Wu away. He turned around and happened to hear it, smiled at him, and raised his fist.

Seeing this, Wan Dayong laughed and punched him.

The two played around for a while, and Zhang Guoqing chatted with them for a while before saying goodbye to Zhou Jiao and leaving.

Walking on the campus, the couple had no time to appreciate the beautiful scenery around them. Not only did they have to wait until school started to arrange for a nursery, they also had to go and investigate the surrounding conditions on site.

From the small train station to the bus station, from the town to the city. Zhang Guoqing and Zhou Jiao finally let go of the last burden in their hearts. Fortunately, the transportation is convenient, making it easy to travel back and forth between the two places.

Zhou Jiao sat in the back seat, feeling the cool breeze. She closed her eyes comfortably, listening to his singing. She opened her eyes and looked at the rice fields and weeds on the riverbank, humming along with him.

Old Mrs. Cheng brought Ping'an to the nursery early this morning. Despite being called a nursery, the facility within the compound was quite large. It had a separate large courtyard, with plenty of play facilities outside. Inside, they cared for children of all ages, from newborns to five or six.

The old lady asked Aunt Chen to carry Ping An with her into the principal's office and specifically stated that the child would be assigned to the two-year-old class. After registering, she took Ping An to the classroom to meet Aunt Chen and his friends.

She was originally worried that the child didn't want to stay here, but she saw him saying goodbye to her with his little legs like a little adult, which made the old lady and others laugh.

After leaving, she was still worried and stayed in the office until noon.

The child's life in the nursery was a concern for several people. When dinner was served, Zhou Xiaozheng and Lin Lishan hurried over after work and stood stealthily outside the classroom.

Inside the classroom, about twenty two- and three-year-old children sat in a circle, while two aunties and the cafeteria staff were distributing food. A moment later, Ping An aggressively squeezed into the first row, turned around, spotted them outside, and waved at them with a wide smile.

This performance made Mrs. Cheng and Lin Lishan burst into laughter.

Seeing that the aunt inside was taking good care of the children, Zhou Xiaozheng nodded with satisfaction, then went into the adjacent nap room to look around for a while, glancing at the bedding with disdain.

He glanced at Director Zhao, who looked nervous, and gestured helplessly to the old lady.

Old Mrs. Cheng suppressed her smile. She couldn't understand why so many people were afraid of her nephew. "Old Zhao, do you think our child should go to kindergarten?"

Old Zhao glanced at Zhou Xiaozheng and shook his head. "These two aunties are the most attentive. Don't change them. Let the child stay for a while. If he doesn't get used to it, we can talk to him later. Is that okay?"

Zhou Xiaozheng nodded at the old lady.

"Then let's take the children back first and come back tomorrow."

Dean Zhao nodded quickly when he saw them leaving. "Remember to prepare the items on the list. The child is here, don't worry. I will visit him often."

Old Mrs. Cheng thanked her again and again, and took Ping An, who was reluctant to leave, and the group left the nursery.

On the way, Zhou Xiaozheng picked him up and wiped the sweat off his face with a handkerchief. "Does Ping'an like it here?"

"Grandpa, there are a lot of children here."

Lin Lishan teased him, "Will you cry if you can't see your parents here?"

Everyone waited quietly for his answer.

"I'm a good kid. Mom and Dad go to school, so I have to go to school too. I'll look for Mom in the evening."

Zhou Xiaozheng patted his head happily. Not bad, much better than other naughty kids. As he listened to the old lady describe the child's morning behavior, he felt even more proud. He planned to give the child a few more instructions in the evening when no one else was around; he wouldn't let his own child suffer any setbacks.
