Chapter 6: Happy Space

"Okay, go to your father's yard first. Your rooms are there. I've given you all the instructions. I've also been keeping your father's study. If you see anything that needs repairing, tell the housekeeper."

After settling the old man down, the couple had no interest in strolling around the garden with the box. Although they tried their best to create a cheerful atmosphere in the main room, they knew that the old man did not have much time left to accompany them.

The old house is quite large, and even a casual walk through it reveals the rich heritage of this century-old house. Fortunately, Zhang's father's yard is not far from the main house, otherwise he would have gotten lost without a guide.

Arriving at the yard, it looked nice, but too big. Even with just a single family living there, it still felt quite empty. Fortunately, it was surrounded by ornamental trees and flowers. If it were tall, lush, and century-old trees, Zhou Jiao wouldn't have dared to live there alone.

I guess it is cleaned very often, and the luggage I brought has been arranged in the room.

Uncle Guang, the Zhang family's housekeeper, was very kind to the young couple. He was also single and never married. He grew up with the current Zhang family's old man, the eldest young master as he calls him. The youngest young master is Guoqing's father, who was also raised by him.

Now that the young master had finally returned home, the old man watched Zhang Guoqing secretly wipe away his tears and looked at the young couple comfortingly: "Young master, you guys take a rest first. I'll go arrange dinner. Is there anything you like to eat? Tell Uncle Guang what you want to eat when you get home. The study next to you belongs to your father. I've kept it there because I knew you would definitely come back. Remember to tell Uncle Guang if you need anything. I'll take you to see the house when I'm free."

Zhang Guoqing immediately supported Uncle Guang, but he didn't dare to call him Uncle Guang. This was the old man of the Zhang family who grew up with Grandpa Zhang and looked after Father Zhang's growth.

He smiled and said, "Grandpa Guang, you are old, don't work too hard. You have plenty of time. Let's go to the garden again when we have time. If there is anything, just tell the people below to do it."

Uncle Guang was anxious and quickly shook his head and said, "Your Grandpa Guang is not old at all. I still have to help you take care of the young master. I can carry 200 kilograms without any problem now."

Zhang Guoqing smiled comfortingly and said, "Yes, I am young and cheerful. Look at my broken mouth. I just want you to stop working and stay with us for a long time in the future."

"Okay, young master, in a couple of days you and your wife should remember to go to your parents' graves to pay your respects. I have prepared everything. After more than 20 years, I have finally waited for you and can finally see you. I will be able to explain to the mistress and young master when I go down in the future. The old man is old and so cruel. He won't take you back first. He is senile and confused. With my uncle Guang here, who dares to touch my young master? Young master, you can never leave again. This is your home. No one else can occupy it. Uncle Guang promised the eldest young master to take good care of this house."

Uncle Guang is worried. He has no idea how hard his young master's life must have been. He just wants to watch him grow up. Who knows what the Second Housewife is planning? He can't afford to let anything go wrong under his watch. He also has to prepare the baby's supplies and see if the old man can stay alive longer. Alas, there's nothing he can do. There's so much going on at home. Yesterday, the Second Housewife didn't want to leave. This is the young master's home. He needs to live a few more years to support him.

"The old man is so good to us. He truly loves our dad. I can see the joy in your eyes."

"Hmm..." Zhang Guoqing also felt bad. Too many things happened in the past two days. He was very moved. He didn't expect that so many people would worry about and make arrangements for him when he didn't know. In fact, he was still lucky. He had parents who loved him, even though they were no longer in this world, a grandfather who loved him, an old housekeeper who loved him, his beloved wife, and children who would be born in the future.

After chatting with the old man in the evening, the couple sorted out the things in the study. Memorable items like photos of Zhang Guoqing's parents needed to be collected and put away. Some jewelry also needed to be sorted separately.

Late at night, Zhou Jiao saw that Zhang Guoqing was still awake, so she took out the ancestral necklace and examined it. Under the light, it looked quite ordinary. Apart from its age, which made it look like an antique, there was nothing special about it.

Zhou Jiao saw this and suddenly a flash of inspiration hit her mind, and she giggled. How could it be possible? She must have read too many novels. Even though she tried to comfort herself like this, she didn't know why she just wanted to give it a try. Aren't those novels all about ancestral stories and then claiming the master's name through blood? And it looked so unremarkable. She couldn't control the thought, so she decided to get up and give it a try.

Zhang Guoqing saw his wife laughing secretly, then dazed, then clenching her hands. He knew she was going to do something. He saw his wife find a needle and draw blood from her finger, dripping it onto the bead on the necklace. Haha ~ It turns out she's read too many novels. He shook his head secretly: "Honey, why don't your fingers hurt? Why don't you draw my blood?"

When Zhou Jiao heard this, she realized that he was the only one in the Zhang family. Perhaps only the Zhang family's bloodline would work. She quickly pulled Zhang Guoqing's finger over, pricked it with a needle, and squeezed out the blood to smear on the beads.

Originally, Guoqing was just joking, but the couple was stunned. Just when Zhou Jiao's blood was applied to the beads, there was no reaction. Now when Guoqing's blood was applied to the beads, the beads slowly absorbed all the blood and gradually flashed.

The two exchanged glances. Could this really be space? Space really existed in this world? Zhang Guoqing tried shouting, "Go in, come out," but there was no response. Zhou Jiao took the necklace, pressed the beads, and silently chanted, "Go in!" while holding the pillow in her left hand. Where was the empty pillow? Suddenly, a hall-sized space appeared in her mind, containing not only the pillow but also two wooden boxes.

Zhou Jiao quickly took out the pillows and boxes. "Honey, it really is a space. I can open it. What should I do? I've also taken out the two boxes inside. Please open them and take a look. I'll be quiet for a while. Please let me be quiet. I feel like I'm dreaming now. Yes, I also dreamed that you found your family and inherited a large fortune. Hmm~ There's also a space~ Wait, I'll be quiet for a while."

Zhang Guoqing watched his wife's antics in silence. He knew this would happen, and she would come to her senses soon. He was still very confident in his wife's psychological endurance.

Two unlocked boxes were opened. One of them was a wooden box filled with precious silk and satin, as well as several sets of women's ancient costumes. After so many years, the brightness and color were still the same as before.

It seems this space preserves freshness just as described in the novel. The other box was more mixed, only half full. Inside, there were a few paintings, jewelry, ten gold bricks, a few embroidered handkerchiefs, and a few delicate purses containing some exquisite jade pendants, gold peanuts, gold melon seeds, and some small change. Beyond that, there was nothing else. It seemed the Zhang family's ancestors had used it to enrich themselves and hadn't replenished it since.

"Honey, these are so cute. I'll give them to the baby to play with. And these silks are so beautiful. We can use them when we have a daughter in the future, hehe~" Zhou Jiao smiled foolishly when she saw these things.

Zhang Guoqing really didn't know what to say. Even if he inherited such a huge fortune, he wouldn't be so out of control. Now he's so happy to have a few golden peanuts and melon seeds.

Although this little woman is sometimes not very reasonable, I just love her. I am happy when I see her happy, and I feel sad when I see her crying. It's okay this way. Just be simple, confused, pay attention, and be more tolerant.

But the reminder still needs to be given: "Jiaojiao, calm down first! This space can't be told to anyone except the two of us, understand? Now let's put all the jewelry that grandma gave us and the antique calligraphy and paintings and photos left by dad in the room into this empty box and put it in your space. I was originally planning to open a safe deposit box at the bank, but now it's OK, all the important things will be placed in it from now on. Tomorrow, all the cash transferred from the bank will be converted into gold bars and gold bricks and placed in the space. Then, after sorting out the shares, we will see if we can exchange them for supplies. There is no need for money in the bank. We don't have to worry about food and clothing with the shares. I will go back to work after I take care of these miscellaneous matters."

Zhou Jiao knew what her husband was thinking the moment she heard it. This guy only loved gold. It was probably another habit of his. It didn't matter to him, it was his property anyway, so she nodded and agreed.
