Chapter 27 Li Zhen's Interference shuhaige.net

Song Fanxing reminded them again, "You should take the milk to the hospital quickly; her illness can't be delayed."

Song Dalong glanced at the unconscious Old Lady Song and hesitated.

"How about we take Mom to the hospital first, and we can talk about everything else when we get back?"

Li Zhen: "No, can we explain things clearly if we send him to the hospital first? We can't be the ones to suffer this loss."

"Isn't Mom rich? Let's use her money to cover the medical expenses first, and then we can argue with Fang Jie when we get back and get the money back from her."

"No, what if we can't get it back? Mom's money will be ours in the future, we can't pay for this."

In the end, Song Dalong couldn't win against Li Zhen.

Song Fanxing felt sorry for Old Lady Song. She had always favored her two sons, especially the second son Song Dalong's family. Now that she was in such a state, the second son's family didn't rush to take her to the hospital, as if they were afraid that their family would suffer a loss and receive less money in the future.

Song Dalong wouldn't let the three siblings leave, so they waited for the brigade leader and Fang Jie to arrive.

Everyone's been rushing to harvest lately, and the brigade leader is more nervous than anyone else, especially after that sudden clap of thunder. He's afraid that a heavy rain will cause their village's harvest this year to fall behind other villages.

So when Song Haitao went to call him, he was extremely annoyed.

"No time, nothing is more important than the harvest right now."

Song Haitao embellished the story of Song Fanxing and her two siblings injuring their grandmother, describing it as if he had witnessed it himself.

Song Guoqiang thought to himself that he didn't care about Old Lady Song's illness, but now that it involved beating someone, he, as the brigade leader, really had to go.

So he explained the rest of the matters and then left with Song Haitao.

Fang Jie followed Song Xiaomei hurriedly towards the Song family home.

Throughout the journey, her heart was in turmoil. It wasn't that she was afraid her child would cause trouble; she always trusted her child's character and believed that he wouldn't hit their breasts as Song Xiaomei had said.

There must be some misunderstanding.

What she's worried about now is that her three children won't be bullied.

Song Guoqiang and Fang Jie arrived one after the other.

The two men looked at the unconscious Old Lady Song with grave expressions.

Fang Jie pulled the three children over, "Are you alright?"

The three children shook their heads.

Li Zhen snorted, "What could possibly be wrong with them? The one in trouble is our mother. Look at the state she's in!"

Fang Jie: "Regardless of the truth, let's get Mom to the hospital right away."

She saw that her mother-in-law had fainted.

Song Guoqiang immediately added, "Yes, take them to the hospital. I'll go get the oxcart; the brigade's oxcart is currently idle."

Li Zhen stopped him, "Don't rush, let's agree on who will pay for the hospital bills first?"

Song Guoqiang wasn't going to tolerate her. He pushed her away and said, "Dalong's wife, there's a limit to being unreasonable. Saving lives is the priority right now. We'll talk about everything else later."

Li Zhen: "No way! We have to make that clear beforehand. Our family isn't going to be taken advantage of."

Song Guoqiang has been so worried about the harvest lately that his lips are so sore and blistered, and he doesn't look well right now.

"Li Zhen, if you keep stopping me, I'll have someone send you to the commune for a couple of days. This is outrageous! Don't you know what's more important?"

When Li Zhen heard that she was going to be taken to the commune, she didn't dare to stop it anymore.

Soon, Song Guoqiang brought the oxcart, and the driver was Uncle Song from the village.

Song Dalong remained standing to the side, glancing at Li Zhen's expression.

Song Guoqiang, who had a fiery temper, roared, "Song Dalong, hurry up and grab her! Do you want your aunt to die?"

Song Dalong then carried Old Lady Song into the car.

Finally, Song Guoqiang and Song Dalong took Grandma Song to the county hospital together.

Fang Jie wanted to take her three children home, but Li Zhen wouldn't allow it.

Fang Jie: "If this matter is really related to my three children, my home is in the southeast corner, you can find it. We're not going anywhere, so just come find me. I will take responsibility for what I should take. It's not my children's problem, so don't even think about pinning the blame on them."

Li Zhen: "Who can say for sure? What if you run away?"

Fang Jie suddenly plopped down on the kang (a heated brick bed). "Okay, we're not leaving. We'll eat and drink here until Mom comes back. That's good too; it saves us some food."

When Li Zhen thought about how Old Lady Song might not be able to be saved, and how all the things she left behind belonged to their family, she couldn't let Fang Jie's family take advantage of her.

So she chased Fang Jie and the others out.

Back home, without Fang Jie asking, Song Yaohui recounted what had happened.

Fang Jie patted the children on the shoulders, "I know, it's not our fault, it's not our responsibility."

Despite offering these words of comfort, Fang Jie remained preoccupied.

She hopes her mother-in-law is alright and wakes up to clear her child's name.

News travels fast in the village. After Li Zhen deliberately exaggerated the story, everyone in the village knew that Song Yaohui and his two siblings had sent their mother to the hospital. The incident started when Old Lady Song picked vegetables from Fang Jie's house.

Everyone in the village knew that Fang Jie's vegetables grew exceptionally well in her private plot. They had long since run out of vegetables to eat, while Fang Jie's vegetable garden remained lush and green, making them extremely envious.

Everyone immediately started discussing it.

"Oh dear, it's just picking some vegetables, these kids are so hot-blooded, they even started hitting people, it's outrageous!"

"Yes, doing such an unfilial thing would have been punishable by being thrown into a pig cage in the old days."

“When Fang Jie and her two children were kicked out by Granny Song, the children must have harbored resentment, which is why they hit her.”

"Children don't hold grudges; it was probably instigated by adults."

"No way, Fang Jie seems quiet and only knows how to work hard. She probably doesn't have that kind of mindset."

"Who knows? Some people you can only know by their appearance, not their heart; we can't tell the difference."
