Chapter 45 Catching a Wild Rabbit

The relative continued, "It's good that you and Fangxuan are back. Try to persuade your in-laws. I'm afraid they might do something rash. Look, in just a few days, they look 10 years older."

Fang Min looked over and saw that her parents-in-law, who used to be energetic and arrogant, were now hunched over, with most of their hair turned white, and they had indeed aged a lot.

She suddenly realized that now that both of Ye's sons were dead, her daughter Fangxuan was the only bloodline left in the Ye family. Although she wasn't a son, she was still a true member of the Ye family.

Fangxuan's in-laws definitely won't kick her out; all of the Ye family's assets will belong to her daughter in the future.

Fang Min was incredibly excited at the thought of this.

Thank goodness they came back.

She won't go back to that run-down countryside.

When the relative saw that Fang Min was actually smiling, he shook his head in disapproval.

How can she laugh when someone in her family has died? It's outrageous!

The relative didn't want to stay with Fang Min and went to the side.

Fang Min thought of her daughter and searched everywhere for her, hoping to rely on her daughter to enjoy a comfortable life in the Ye family in the future.

Finally, they found Ye Fangxuan huddled up in a ball at the back of the crowd.

She walked over and excitedly grabbed her daughter.

"Fangxuan, we won't be kicked out anymore. From now on, we can live in our own home, eat whatever we want, and buy whatever we want."

Ye Fangxuan's eyes lit up. "Really? Mom, Grandpa and Grandma really won't kick us out?"

"No, not only that, everything in the Ye family will be yours from now on."

Ye Fangxuan laughed happily, and then everyone's eyes turned to look in their direction.

Mr. and Mrs. Ye were trembling with anger. Mr. Ye shouted, "Get back inside!"

Fang Min wasn't angry. She took Ye Fangxuan back to the house she and Ye Jun used to live in.

The fact that their in-laws didn't kick them out already shows their attitude.

Fang Min was overjoyed; her good days had arrived.

The group of relatives and friends who came to pay their respects in the main room were speechless at the way Ye's eldest daughter-in-law had made them.

Everyone was immersed in grief, yet she and her daughter could actually laugh. What a misfortune for the family...

Inside the house, Ye Fangxuan cried out that she was hungry.

Fang Min immediately went to find something to eat.

She discovered that everyone in the Ye family died young, including Ye Jun and his younger brother. She couldn't let anything happen to her daughter, as she would have to rely on her daughter to live a good life in the Ye family in the future.

Fang Min found only a cold, hard cornbread in the kitchen, took it back to the house and shared it with her daughter.

She took a bite, and it was truly awful, so awful that she felt like throwing up. It was nothing like the food at Fang Jie's house.

During her stay in Songjiatun, her appetite became more discerning, and she found it difficult to swallow cold, hard cornbread.

Ye Fangxuan took a bite and immediately spat it out.

"Mom, this tastes awful. I want to eat Auntie's scallion and egg pancakes, stewed meat, corn on the cob, pumpkin steamed buns, and I also want to eat peaches."

Hearing her recite a list of food, Fang Min swallowed hard; she wanted to eat too.

"Alright, just eat this. She's not your aunt anymore. She kicked us out. Don't acknowledge her anymore, and don't call her aunt."

Ye Fangxuan nodded. Her aunt's family was too wicked. Why not let them continue living there?

The next day, when Song Fanxing delivered breakfast to Old Lady Song, she took the opportunity to add a few drops of spiritual spring water to it.

Since Song Yaohui and Song Yaohua didn't have to go to school, they delivered meals to Old Lady Song, and Song Fanxing finally got her wish to go up the mountain with Fang Jie.

The people in the village are aware of the dangers and won't go deep into the mountains. There's an endless supply of firewood near the village on the mountainside.

Fang Jie led Song Fanxing into the woods and immediately got busy, telling her daughter to stay with her and not to wander off.

Song Fanxing readily agreed, but her eyes darted around.

Before long, she found a wild plum tree with several plum saplings under it. She dug them up and threw them into her spatial storage.

Later, she found a bayberry sapling, two walnut saplings, a loquat sapling, and two chestnut saplings.

Fang Jie saw her daughter digging in the bushes, busy with her work. She told her to be careful and not to get pricked.

Song Fanxing was so busy that she just gave a casual reply.

Suddenly, a gray hare darted past her. Song Fanxing picked up a stone and accurately hit the running hare's leg, causing it to fall to the ground.

Song Fanxing was overjoyed and grew increasingly fond of her great strength, and her stone-throwing became more and more accurate.

She picked up the rabbit, which weighed about five or six pounds, and ran to Fang Jie, saying, "Mom, I caught a wild rabbit."

Fang Jie was initially surprised, but then overjoyed.

She took the rabbit, weighed it in her hand, and thought, "It's quite heavy! It must weigh about six pounds!" They could have meat for dinner.

"Star, the rabbit runs so fast, how did you catch it?"

She admitted that she couldn't outrun a rabbit, let alone her daughter's short legs.

Song Fanxing didn't intend to hide it and said, "I threw a stone and injured its foot, so it couldn't run away and I caught it."

After her initial shock, Fang Jie regained her composure.

"Star, your abilities must not be seen by outsiders, understand?"

Song Fanxing nodded.

Fang Jie found a thin vine and tied it around the rabbit's leg to prevent it from escaping.

Next, they bundled the firewood, put it into a basket, and carried it on their backs.

Seeing how hard she was carrying the firewood, Song Fanxing asked, "Mom, can you put the firewood in my space?"

Fang Jie waved her hand, "No, we should avoid using that stuff if possible. It's hard to explain to people if we use it too much."

Along the way, she met many villagers in the village who all knew that she had gone up the mountain to chop firewood, but returned empty-handed.

That's so strange.

Song Fanxing didn't force her.

Since her mother didn't want it to be this way, she tried to help her in other ways.

On the way down the mountain, Fang Jie carried firewood on her back, while Song Fanxing insisted on carrying the rabbit.
