Xu Kuo ignored Shi Jixing and turned to Wang Wenchang: "Comrade Wang, what brings you here?"
Wang Wenchang then came to his senses and quickly explained, "Secretary Wen wants to see you."
Secretary Wen gave a wry smile and walked up to Xu Kuo: "Comrade Xu Kuo, I really didn't expect that you are the great translator that Wenchang mentioned. This is truly... a case of the flood washing away the Dragon King's temple, and family members not recognizing each other."
"I originally intended to invite this esteemed person to join the county committee, but I didn't expect it to be you. Now I'm in a difficult position."
She paused, then continued, "Your abilities are evident to all, but the work of the county committee is tedious and may take up your time."
Xu Kuo pondered for a moment and felt that running around like this every time was not a solution. If Secretary Wen made him run around a few more times, he would probably be exhausted.
He glanced at Wenwen standing to the side, and suddenly an idea came to him.
"Secretary Wen, what do you think of this?" Xu Kuo suggested. "Isn't Wenwen an intellectual too? I can set aside some time to teach her English, and then you can just ask her to translate, right?"
Upon hearing this, Secretary Wen's eyes lit up, and he quickly nodded in agreement: "That's a good idea, it's settled then. I'll inform Wenwen right away and have her temporarily put aside her work. Of course, you won't be treated unfairly either, Xu Kuo, feel free to make any requests you may have."
As he spoke, Secretary Wen seemed to suddenly remember something and quickly added, "By the way, didn't you want that stall? I'll go talk to Yi Guanlin about it for you."
Xu Kuo raised an eyebrow, a hint of excitement flashing in his eyes. If he could secure a few more stalls, that would be ideal.
He nodded: "Then I'll have to trouble Secretary Wen."
Wang Wenchang, who was standing to the side, watched with great envy. If he weren't so busy with his own affairs, he would have liked to join in and learn as well.
