Chapter 133 Renting a Shop

"Teacher Zhao? Teacher Li? Are you looking for Teacher Zhang? Please come in."

As soon as the two teachers entered the room, they smelled the strong smell of barbecue. Teacher Zhao said with a smile: "You have a good life."

After Teacher Zhang and Lv Tingting greeted the two, Teacher Zhang asked, "Teacher Zhao, Teacher Li, what are you doing here?"

Teacher Zhao nodded and said, "Let's have a small meeting to discuss the issues from the morning meeting."

Su Jinyan and Lu Tingting looked at each other and said quickly, "We are just about to go out for a walk. Teacher Zhao, Teacher Zhang, please write a note for Tingting and me. We will go outside the school gate to buy some rice and vegetables. We plan to cook our own food in the future. We always feel hungry after eating milk and bread every day."

Teacher Zhao smiled and nodded, "Okay, let Teacher Zhang write a note for you, don't go too far, there is a big supermarket opposite the school gate."

The two of them nodded with a smile, and Su Jinyan smiled and said, "Teacher Zhao, you and Teacher Li sit down and try this honey-roasted turkey first. You can eat it while you have the meeting. We haven't touched this half yet."

Teacher Zhao laughed and nodded, "Yeah."

However, he was just talking and would try one or two slices at most.

This thing is extremely expensive, and other people's children buy it to eat. How could they possibly take advantage of it by relying on their seniority and status as teachers?

Su Jinyan and Lu Tingting took out their exit slips, each carrying a large backpack and went out.

"This school is too big, why don't we buy a bicycle?"

It took me a full forty-five minutes to walk from the dormitory to the school gate. I was really tired.

Lu Tingting nodded. "I think it's okay. If we don't want to leave the school, we will have to waste an hour and a half just in the school."

"Let's go shopping around first, and then go to the supermarket to buy things later."

Lu Tingting had no objection, and the two of them started walking to the right.

But less than ten meters after passing the school wall, Su Jinyan suddenly saw a shop for rent, and his heart started beating wildly.

Such a good location is still for rent? Shouldn't it be snapped up?

Seeing that the shop was not locked, he pulled Lu Tingting into the store.

Lu Tingting looked depressed.

"Hello, excuse me?"

After entering the door, Su Jinyan didn't see anyone. He glanced at the not-so-small shop, his heart leaping with excitement, and asked loudly.

After a while, Su Jinyan raised his eyebrows when he saw someone coming out.

Chinese?

A Chinese man in his forties came out.

The reason why it is definitely Chinese is that there are obvious differences between Chinese, Koreans and Japanese.

"Hello." After seeing the person, Su Jinyan nodded politely and smiled.

The middle-aged man frowned slightly, then smiled gently, "Hello, are you the new Chinese students who came here these two days?"

Su Jinyan smiled and nodded, "Yes, I saw a sign saying "For Rent" on the door of your shop just now, so I came in to ask, is this shop yours?"

When the middle-aged man heard this, his brows furrowed, "Little girl, do you want to rent it?"

"Well, I want to rent it. How much is the rent per month?"

"Hey, girl, since we are both Chinese, I advise you not to rent a shop. Most of the people around here are foreigners. These devils discriminate against us. It is extremely difficult for us Chinese to open a shop and make some money. What's more, you still have to go to school, so where do you have the time?"

Su Jinyan pursed his lips and nodded, "Uncle, what did your shop do originally?"

"My great uncle was a chef. His cooking skills were not the best in the country, but they were pretty good. They were much better than the milk bread in this shabby place, but not many people came." The middle-aged uncle sighed, "At that time, I didn't know how high the sky was and how deep the earth was. I thought I could make a lot of money near the school, so I rented this store for ten years. Now, it's closed down after just one year."

ten years!

Su Jinyan smiled and said, "How much do you plan to rent it for now? I want to rent it for only one year. After all, I will only stay here for one year."

The middle-aged uncle was stunned. He didn't expect that he had said that money was not easy to make, but this little girl wanted to rent it! It seemed that she was a young lady who didn't know the world.

"If you want to rent it, I'll give it to you at the same price I originally rented it for, three hundred and fifty dollars a month."

Three hundred and fifty dollars?

Su Jinyan couldn't help but be shocked, and Lu Tingting was also very surprised. Let alone 350 US dollars, even 350 RMB was almost a year's salary for a person in China.

Still a high salary!

The middle-aged uncle looked at the two surprised little girls, but he didn't look down on them. He just laughed, "Are you surprised? It's not like China, where the monthly salary is twenty or thirty dollars. The average salary here is three dollars for an eight-hour shift, so I hired hourly workers, one dollar for three hours a day. In the end, there were no customers, so I didn't even hire anyone."

"So if you want to rent a store, you must think carefully about what you want to do and whether you can make money. Don't just rent it on impulse. The annual rental fee is not low."

Su Jinyan thought for a moment and asked again: "Uncle, you are not going to open a restaurant here, are you planning to open a restaurant somewhere else?"

The middle-aged man shook his head and said, "There are not many Chinese people here. You can't make much money no matter where you open a business."

In the past few years, he has been exchanging the things left by his ancestors for money, but he has not made any money after all the hard work. It seems that he should either change his career or return home.

The domestic market is good, so you don’t have to worry about the cost and distribution issues anymore.

Su Jinyan walked back and forth with a frown on her face. After a while, she asked, "Uncle, if you don't have a career plan yet, would you be willing to stay and help me? I'll give you six dollars a day, and there will be overtime pay for overtime work."
