Chapter 25

I hung the big bag on the handlebars and walked around to find a deserted place to put it away.

I just got home on my bike and locked the car. As soon as I entered the house, I saw the Zhou family putting some old furniture that they got from somewhere into the house.

"You just came back, and you don't even know how to look after your grandpa. You just wander around all day. Do you need anyone to teach you how to be filial?"

Mrs. Zhou has been staying in the hospital for the past few days. She is now in low spirits and speaks with a weak voice.

"Be filial! I should be filial. I am not the only one with grandchildren. There are five or six children in the family. Even if it is my turn now, it is not my turn." Lin Wan looked at Mrs. Zhou with bright eyes. Why is it not Mrs. Zhou who is half paralyzed by the stroke?

"What are you talking about? Your grandpa loves you the most, shouldn't you serve him? Anyway, if you have nothing to do, just stay at home and serve your grandpa."

Mrs. Zhou felt nauseous again when she thought about wiping the old man's shit last night.

"You loved me the most and even asked me to donate my kidney to Zhou Laosi. Those who knew I was a member of your Zhou family would think I was a kidnapper. I am being filial by letting your whole family move in. After all, this is the Lin family's house and you are really getting a great deal."

As soon as Lin Wan finished speaking, she saw Zhou's mother coming back with red eyes.

Old Mrs. Zhou was so angry at Lin Wan's words that she almost flipped over. This little bitch, wait.

Seeing his wife coming back, he stood up quickly, "Suyun, is there any news from Bianhai? What did they say?"

Her voice was trembling as she spoke. She only had this one son, so what would she do if anything happened to him?

"Mom... sob, sob, sob." After hearing what Old Lady Zhou asked, Chen Suyun, who had been holding back all the way, suddenly burst into tears.

"You're driving me crazy. What was the verdict? How much was it? Was he sentenced to prison or sent to a lower level? I don't know if there's any clue."

Old Mrs. Zhou stood in the middle of the living room, tapping her walking stick anxiously.

"I inquired and learned that the amount of embezzlement of public funds was huge. The lightest sentence he could receive is eighteen months. The investigation has not been completed yet, so he may... have to eat peanuts.

Oh my god, what can I do... Why is my life so miserable...?"

Lin Wan leaned on the stairs and watched Chen Suyun sitting on the ground crying.

After hearing the last part, Mrs. Zhou rolled her eyes and fell backwards.

"Ah...Mom...what's wrong with you?" Mother Zhou quickly sat up from the ground and rushed towards Old Lady Zhou.

Watching the chaotic family, Lin Wan sat on the stairs, took out a handful of melon seeds from his pocket, and ate them while watching.

A tall figure walked in through the door, and his sharp eyes immediately turned to Lin Wan who was sitting there eating melon seeds.

Lin Wan looked up and spat out the melon seed shells in her mouth. Zhou Weidong had returned.

"Grandma...how are you?" Zhou Weidong walked to the side of Old Lady Zhou. Old Lady Zhou had just come to her senses after being pinched on the philtrum by Zhou's mother, and she was crying.

"Are you all home?" An old man's voice came from the door.

Everyone looked towards the door, only to see Old Master Shen and Shen Shili walking in with supplements.

"Master Shen, you are here." Zhou Weidong went out to welcome Master Shen in.

"Well, I just heard that your grandfather was ill, so I couldn't leave my old in-laws to come and see him."

Mr. Shen made the purpose clear in just one sentence.

"Crack..." An untimely crackling sound was heard. Lin 냭wan continued to eat melon seeds while looking at the person who came in.

"This is..." Old Master Shen looked at the smart and lovely little girl.

"Grandpa Shen, this is the daughter of the Zhou family that my parents adopted, Lin Wan." On the way back, Zhou Weidong and his mother talked about Lin Wan for half of the time.

Zhou's mother told her about how Lin Wanwan was busy with work and refused to give Zhou Laosi a kidney transplant. She also targeted Zhou Rongrong and asked her to run away from home. She didn't take care of her grandfather and took many of her things.

"She's a beautiful one." Old Master Shen glanced at Lin Wan. He looked so wealthy and noble that most children would have come forward to greet her.

But Lin Wan still sat on the stairs and watched.

Shen Shili was a little surprised when he saw Lin Wan for the first time. He didn't expect that the girl who was engaged to him was so beautiful.

Thinking about what Zhou Rongrong said, and seeing Lin Wan sitting there eating melon seeds very rudely, the little bit of good impression I had of her turned into a negative number.

"Lin Wanwan, why don't you come and say hello to Grandpa Shen? Is this what Grandpa Lin usually taught you at home?" Zhou Weidong is used to getting to the point.

Seeing Lin Wan's unfriendly eyes and hearing what Zhou's mother said, Zhou Weidong felt that what happened at home must be related to Lin Wan.

He was thinking about writing a letter back to the army and asking for a few more days of vacation to investigate. If it was really this little girl who did it, then don't blame him for being ruthless.

"Who are you? Who is Master Shen? My grandpa only taught me to knock on the door before visiting someone else's house, to greet the host before meeting him, and to not forget that this is my home."

Lin Wan threw away the melon seed shells in her hand, stood up, and looked at Zhou's mother, "I'm hungry, when is dinner?"

When Mrs. Zhou heard what Lin Wan said, she immediately challenged him, "What are you going to eat for dinner? Have you bought food? What in the house is yours? If you want to eat, go get it yourself. Do you still want me, an old lady, to support you?"

"Oh, I understand now. Grandma means to split up the family. I will figure out a solution myself tomorrow. Let's just break up from now on. I won't get involved with you anymore.

But this house has nothing to do with the Zhou family. Now that everyone is here, when will you move out?"

Lin Wan didn't care about the outsiders and just looked at Zhou Weidong, who was showing off in other people's territory, but he had to be able to stand his ground.

"What are you talking about? As my granddaughter, it's only natural for you to support me in my old age, but you want to drive me away. I'm going to hang myself at your doorstep. I want to see how you behave." Old Mrs. Zhou was so angry at Lin Wan's words that she trembled.

"If you want me to raise you, you have to be able to win the lawsuit. The descendants of your Zhou family are not all dead. How can it be my turn as a granddaughter whose parents are both dead to support you in your old age? If one day all the men in the Zhou family die and you beg me, I can still support you even though I am so kind."

Lin Wanyi spoke seriously, but his eyes were fixed on Zhou Weidong and Zhou's mother.

Old Master Shen narrowed his eyes and looked at the little girl who was talking big in front of him.

"Grandpa, look, you want me to marry her even though she is like this? I would rather be a bachelor my whole life than marry such a vicious woman." Shen Shili said directly what he meant. Now he felt disgusted when he saw Lin Wan.

"I'll go see Brother Zhou. It's getting late." Mr. Shen said nothing and walked past a few people into the inner room.

"Lin Wanwan, the men in the Zhou family are not all dead, and your grandparents don't need you to support them. I'll pay you rent to live in your house." Zhou Weidong took out a big note from his pocket and slapped it on the table.
