Chapter 129 Sending Someone to Pick Up

While Han Yixian and Du Yuhan were immersed in happiness every day, Han Yixian's father sent someone to pick him up, saying that there was an urgent matter in Kyoto that required Han Yixian to return and handle.

Han Yixian knew something important was happening when he saw that his father had sent his capable subordinate, Uncle Wang, to pick him up.

He felt that returning to Kyoto now would be fine, as long as he didn't overexert himself or use his legs for extended periods. However, he needed to consult Du Yuhan's opinion first.

Han Yi first looked at Du Yuhan, asking her with his eyes.

Du Yuhan knew that since it was Han Yixian's father who sent someone to pick him up, there must be something important waiting for Han Yixian to handle. Although she was very reluctant to part with him, she knew she couldn't let her emotions get the better of her at this moment. She nodded subtly to Han Yixian.

Han Yi was overjoyed to receive Du Yuhan's approval and immediately said to Uncle Wang who came to pick him up, "Uncle Wang, I can go back with you."

Upon hearing this, Wang Zhongquan happily said, "That's great! Then hurry up and pack your things. Come back to Kyoto with me today."

Han Yixian asked in surprise, "Ah, you're going back today? Isn't that too rushed? Why don't you stay here for the night? I'll pack up and say goodbye to my aunt and the others before I leave. I've troubled them quite a bit these past two years in Luancheng."

Wang Zhongquan nodded and said, "We should indeed say goodbye to them. Okay, I'll stay here for the night, and we'll head back to Kyoto tomorrow."

Han Yi first arranged for Uncle Wang to rest and told Du Yuhan to quickly prepare some food, since it was just past noon and Uncle Wang and the others probably hadn't eaten yet.

Wang Zhongquan only began to look at Du Yuhan after hearing Han Yi first ask a young girl to cook.

Han Yixian introduced, "Uncle Wang, this is my fiancée, Du Yuhan. Yuhan, this is Uncle Wang Zhongquan, who has watched me grow up since I was a child."

Du Yuhan quickly greeted him, "Uncle Wang, hello."

Wang Zhongquan stared wide-eyed at Du Yuhan after hearing Han Yixian's words, as if Du Yuhan were some rare and unusual creature.

Then Wang Zhongquan laughed heartily and said, "You're really something, kid. You took down the scorpion while sitting in a wheelchair, and you're still finding a wife. Everyone will admire you for that."

Afraid of being teased by the ever-smiling Uncle Wang, Du Yuhan quickly said, "You guys chat, I'll go cook."

After saying that, she ran to the kitchen.

Wang Zhongquan patted Han Yixian on the shoulder and said, "You have good taste! This girl has clear eyes, a beautiful appearance, and a graceful demeanor. Even if you were stuck in this corner, you could still find such a good wife."

Han Yixian laughed and said, "It's because my aunt has good taste that she found me such a good wife. Without Yuhan's meticulous care, my leg wouldn't have recovered so quickly."

Wang Zhongquan could tell from Han Yixian's expression that he genuinely liked this girl named Du Yuhan; otherwise, he wouldn't have introduced her to him.

Just like his ex-fiancée Liu Ying, Han Yixian never introduced her to him or mentioned her. It seems this guy has found true love.

Wang Zhongquan nodded and said, "I'm glad you like it. I heard from your father that you met a reclusive master. You've always been very lucky, and this time you've escaped from a desperate situation."

"But what about this girl if you come back to Kyoto with me this time? Have your parents approved of your marriage?"

Wang Zhongquan knew Han Yixian's mother, Zeng Yufen, quite well, and he felt that Han Yixian's desire to marry this young girl named Du Yuhan would not be too smooth.

Han Yixian said, "My father has already agreed. As for my mother, of course she doesn't agree. In her mind, my wife must be someone she can control. But I don't care whether she agrees or not. I won't let anyone control my marriage."

Wang Zhongquan sighed and said, "Yixian, your mother's actions after you were injured were indeed disheartening. But she is still your mother. You can't marry someone who doesn't respect her. If you don't get along with your mother, your future wife will also suffer. But this is ultimately your family matter, and I shouldn't interfere."

But I must also remind you, your mother is not a kind person; she is quite shrewd. If she opposes your marriage to Du Yuhan, and you insist on marrying her, then you must protect Du Yuhan. I don't need to say more; you should understand that yourself.”

How could Han Yixian not understand Uncle Wang's words? His own mother was a person who would stop at nothing to achieve her goals.

As her son, Han Yixian knew his mother very well. If he insisted on going against his mother and marrying Du Yuhan, it could put Du Yuhan in danger. This was his biggest worry.

But he couldn't just give up on Du Yuhan. Happiness was so close to him; he couldn't bear to let her go. He would do everything he could to protect Du Yuhan.

Therefore, Han Yixian cannot take Du Yuhan with him on this trip to Beijing. He fears he won't have enough time to look after Du Yuhan, giving some unscrupulous people an opportunity to take advantage of the situation. He needs to make arrangements before bringing Du Yuhan to Beijing.

Wang Zhongquan was somewhat surprised to see the meal Du Yuhan had prepared and said, "You've made such a lavish spread, with eggs and meat. You're living quite well here."

Han Yixian said, "We have to thank Yuhan for all of this. Yuhan is a skilled hunter and often goes into the mountains to hunt. She also raises many chickens at home, which lay eggs very frequently, so we don't have to worry about having eggs to eat."

Wang Zhongquan pointed at Han Yixian and laughed, "You're a lucky guy."

Wang Zhongquan praised Du Yuhan's cooking once again after eating it.

Wang Zhongquan truly admired Han Yixian's luck; despite being in a wheelchair for almost two years, it didn't hinder him in any way.

He not only got his leg healed in Luancheng, but also found such a wonderful wife. She's beautiful, poised, and an excellent cook.

Han Yixian is going to be lucky in the future.

He hoped that the two lovers could eventually be together and not be ruined by Han Yixian's mother.

In the afternoon, Du Yuhan packed Han Yixian's things, especially making sure he had all the clothes he needed. She also packed a new shirt, underwear, and cloth shoes that she had made for him.

Han Yixian loved wearing the cloth shoes with the multi-layered soles she made; they were comfortable and breathable. Du Yuhan specially made two extra pairs for him.

Du Yuhan also prepared some walnuts and dried dates for Han Yixian. These are nutritious foods and convenient to carry.

Although she knew that Han Yixian would definitely not go hungry after returning to Kyoto, she couldn't help but worry that he wouldn't be able to take care of himself without her by his side.

Han Yi was returning to Kyoto, and Liu Gang would inevitably go back with him. He had also packed his things.

Liu Gang felt very reluctant to leave this place. Life here was so leisurely.

After finishing dinner early in the evening, Han Yi took Du Yuhan to the Yuan family to say goodbye. They also needed to go to the Yao family to give a message.

He also needed some private space with Du Yuhan to have heart-to-heart talks. It wasn't convenient with other people at home.
