Chapter 193 Seeking an Opportunity for Observation

Du Yuhan was crying and cursing. Hearing Han Yixian's words, she angrily pounded on Han Yixian's chest. She wanted to vent her anger and teach this guy a lesson.

Han Yixian didn't stop Du Yuhan from hitting him. He stood tall, wrapped his arms around Du Yuhan, and let her hit him as much as she wanted. Du Yuhan's strength was about the same as tickling.

Watching Du Yuhan hit him, Han Yixian said, "Hit me as much as you want, hit me as hard as you want. As long as you can calm down and forgive me for hitting you however I want."

Upon hearing this, Du Yuhan pushed Han Yixian away, wiped the tears from her face, and said, "You're a scoundrel."

Han Yixian quickly begged for mercy, "I'm sorry, Yuhan, I shouldn't have said that. Please continue hitting me and calm down first."

Du Yuhan picked up the wooden stick she had just used and swung it at Han Yixian, saying, "Get out of here, I don't want to see you."

Han Yixian didn't dodge. He apologized and said, "Yuhan, hit me as hard as you can. Hitting me with a wooden stick is harder than hitting me with your hands, and it will save your hands from hurting."

Han Yi clenched his fists, silently cheering himself on. He had already made up his mind: he would embody the spirit of being unafraid of hardship, pain, and even losing face. He was determined to win his wife back.

Now that he knows Du Yuhan still has feelings for him, his confidence has soared. What does a little hardship matter? As long as he can win his wife back, he can endure any amount of suffering.

Hearing Han Yixian's humble words, Du Yuhan felt bad. She stopped hitting him, threw the wooden stick aside, and sat on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed) crying.

Han Yixian felt heartbroken seeing this. He sat down next to Du Yuhan, put his arm around her shoulder, and comforted her, "Yuhan, I know you've been wronged. It's all my fault. Don't worry, I've severed ties with the Han family. From now on, the Han family has nothing to do with me, and you don't need to face anyone from the Han family anymore. I will slowly make you pay for the harm my mother caused you."

Although I can't do anything to her, I will cripple the son she has placed so much hope in, shattering her dream of gaining glory through her second child. That will disappoint and pain her more than anything else.

Du Yuhan said, "Even if she doesn't have a second son, she still has your father, doesn't she?"

Han Yixian sneered, "Over the years, her greedy, vain, and snobbish nature has become increasingly apparent. She has also used the Han family's power to do many bad things. My father has long been disgusted with her. If it weren't for the stability of the Han family and the fear of being caught red-handed, my father would probably have divorced her long ago."

My father had already begun to gradually limit her power within the Han family. So now she can only pin her hopes on her good-for-nothing second son. If Han Yikun's life is tainted, then no matter which path he takes, he will have no future. My father will not give him another chance. You see, the Han family has other cousins; they don't have to rely on him.

It's only because the Han family has protected Han Yikun all these years that he hasn't gotten into trouble; otherwise, he would have been ruined long ago.

My grandfather never liked my mother and her two other children. If it weren't for me, he would never have accepted my mother as a member of the Han family.

Du Yuhan said, "You were raised by your grandfather. If you leave the Han family, wouldn't that be letting down your grandfather's upbringing?"

Han Yixian said, "Even if I leave the Han family, I will still be surnamed Han. I'm just setting up my own household and establishing a new Han family, one that I'm completely in charge of. However, from now on you will be the mistress of the Han family, and you will be in charge of the household. I will have to listen to you."

Du Yuhan turned her head to the side and pouted, saying, "Who wants to be the mistress of the Han family? Go find someone else."

Han Yixian found Du Yuhan's sulky expression somewhat amusing, and felt much more relaxed. He said, "I've made up my mind about you. I don't want anyone else. If you don't want me anymore, I'll stay single for life. Even if you don't marry me in the future, I will protect you. Because in my heart, you are my wife for life, and there will be no one else."

If you truly fall in love with someone else, I will still wish you well, and I will protect your family. As long as you are happy, that's enough. As long as I can see you and hear news of your well-being, that's enough.

Du Yuhan felt heartbroken listening to Han Yixian's words. She forced herself not to soften and could only sob and cry again.

She felt like she wanted to cry all day and couldn't stop.

She didn't want Han Yixian to remain a bachelor for life. In his previous life, he had never married and died young; in this life, she hoped Han Yixian could find happiness.

Han Yixian tenderly took a handkerchief and wiped away Du Yuhan's tears, saying, "Yuhan, I know you can't forgive me right away. If you can give me another chance, I will never let you down again."

If you still can't accept me now, then let's start as friends. You can re-evaluate me, and you can decide when the probation period ends. Even if the probation period doesn't end, we can still be friends. As long as I know about you and can see you occasionally, that's fine.

Han Yixian knew that Du Yuhan was always easily swayed by him, and even if Du Yuhan gave him a chance to test her, he would still have a chance to win back Du Yuhan's heart.

He couldn't relax for even a moment, otherwise Du Yuhan might very well become someone else's wife.

Du Yuhan learned some things from Han Yixian, and Han Yixian's humble attitude made her hesitate about whether to give him a chance. In fact, it was also about giving herself a chance.

Du Yuhan said, "I'm very confused, and I don't know how to answer you."

Upon hearing this, Han Yixian was not discouraged but rather secretly pleased. This meant that Du Yuhan had feelings for him, but still had concerns. He wanted to understand her concerns and dispel them.

Han Yixian said, "If you can't make a decision now, take your time to think about it. I'll give you time."
