Chapter 204 Various Speculations

Du Yuhan took a deep breath and said, "Brother Han, you should know that I know some medical knowledge. Now I can tell you definitively that a man and a woman with blood type B and type O respectively cannot have a child with blood type A. This is a genetic issue that most people don't know."

Han Yixian stared wide-eyed at Du Yuhan without saying a word.

Du Yuhan continued, "If your parents' blood types are correct, then it means you are not their child. At least it means you are not their child."

Han Yixian grabbed Du Yuhan's shoulder and said, "Are you saying I might be my mother's child with someone else? I'm not my father's child?"

Du Yuhan shook her head at the excited Han Yixian and said, "That's not necessarily true. It's also possible that you weren't born to your mother."

Han Yixian frowned and said, "So that means I might not be a child of the Han family?"

Du Yuhan frowned and thought for a long time, recalling some news about the Han family that she had heard in her previous life.

She said, "Brother Han, don't you think your grandfather's attitude towards you is strange? Why doesn't he let you have more contact with your mother, your younger brother and sister? Do you think he might know something?"

"Your grandfather raised you with such care, is there any possibility that you are your father's child, but not Zeng Yufen's? Don't forget, you and your father have many similarities, but none like your mother."

Han Yixian was in a state of confusion. He paced back and forth a couple of times before looking at Du Yuhan and saying, "Such a big secret has gone unnoticed for so many years, yet you've revealed it in a single sentence. It's terrifying to be uneducated. Otherwise, I would have known this secret long ago."

Du Yuhan said, "This theory in genetics has only been established for a few years. Even many doctors don't know it, let alone the average person. Besides, who pays attention to blood type? Some people never even know their blood type in their entire lives."

Han Yixian said, "What you just said is also very possible. Because when I was a child, my mother was indeed very cold to me, but she was very loving towards my second son, Han Yikun."

Back then, I always thought it was because of my grandfather's upbringing. Now I think maybe she wasn't my biological mother at all. But now I can't directly ask her; I can only look for information elsewhere.

Du Yuhan said, "It's a pity you weren't by your grandfather's side when he passed away, so he couldn't tell you anything he wanted to say."

Han Yixian frowned, thinking about some things from the past. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, and he said, "Yuhan, I remember someone. I call him Uncle Zhong. He was my grandfather's attendant. He had been with my grandfather since he was very young. After my grandfather passed away, he disappeared. I asked my family, and they said he went back to his hometown to stay with his relatives."

Du Yuhan said, "You can send someone to his hometown to investigate; perhaps you can get some useful information from him."

Han Yi nodded and calmed himself down, saying, "Alright, let's not talk about this anymore. As long as I believe he's my grandfather's grandson, nothing else matters. But if it can be proven that I'm really not Zeng Yufen's child, then I'll have even fewer concerns about them."

Han Yixian finally displayed his archery skills in front of Du Yuhan, hitting his target every time and reaping a large number of prey that almost filled his basket.

The two were lucky this time and didn't encounter any wild beasts. They had their fill of hunting and headed home to prepare one or two of their prey for a good dinner.

When Yu Huiru got home, she was amazed to see that the baskets on her back were full. She exclaimed, "You two have only been gone for a short time, and you've already brought back so much game. I heard that it's very difficult for people to find food in the mountains, and there's hardly any game left on the mountainside. How come it's so easy for you? You two can't go into the deep mountains to take risks. Our family is not in a situation where we don't have enough to eat."

Du Yuhan said, "Mom, don't worry, we know what we're doing. Our two little ones and my three brothers all need nutrition, and you need to eat something nutritious too. It'll be fine once the hens lay eggs in a few days."

"This huge haul is all thanks to Brother Han's skill. His archery is even better than mine!"

Han Yixian also said, "Auntie, with me by Yuhan's side to protect her, she won't be in any danger. I'll go and prepare the game now, and cook a good meal for the children tonight."

Du Yuhan picked out the pheasant, boiled water to pluck its feathers, while Han Yixian carried the rabbit to the backyard to clean it up.

Du Haisheng was playing with his two younger brothers when Du Yuhan asked him to call his two older brothers and invite their families over for dinner that evening.

Knowing that Yu Huiru was there and Han Yixian had come again, the Du family refused to come for dinner no matter what.

The Du family members were still unfamiliar with the He family and Han Yixian, so they were a little reserved.

The elderly Liang couple didn't come to eat either, nor did they want to disturb Du Yuhan and Han Yixian's time together.

Du Yuhan didn't insist, but instead gave each family a large bowl of stewed meat.

Du Yuhan was worried that Han Yi would drive at night, so she ate dinner early, before it got dark.

The vegetables in the yard grew very quickly thanks to the well water in the space. Spinach, lettuce, and radishes were all ready to eat. Du Yuhan cooked a radish, made spinach salad with nuts, and lettuce with soybean paste. She also had a large bowl of stewed pheasant and rabbit meat, making for a very sumptuous dinner.

Yu Huiru kept urging Han Yixian to eat more, showing a tendency to grow fonder of him more and more, much like a mother-in-law looking at her son-in-law.

Han Yixian felt that eating Du Yuhan's cooking was a real treat. He didn't stand on ceremony and started eating from the large bowl full of food that his future mother-in-law had put on his plate.

Du Yuhan takes care of the two younger children, making sure they eat vegetables along with meat, and not being picky eaters.

Gu Huayang and He Haobo, the two little ones, were particularly fond of the meat stewed by Du Yuhan. Each of them ate several pieces of meat, their little mouths covered in oil. Yu Huiru couldn't help but laugh at the sight.

The two children are now fair-skinned, chubby, clever, and very cute. Compared to the other children in the compound, they are clearly growing up in a pampered environment.

The two little ones stopped eating only when their bellies were bulging. Du Yuhan, worried they might have indigestion, gave them digestive medicine after the meal.

Yu Huiru also witnessed Han Yixian's appetite, which was just as large as her two sons'. Yu Huiru was happy to see this; being able to eat well meant he was in good health.

She said with a smile, "Xiao Han, don't be shy, eat more. We only have this much appetite, we can't compare to you young men. Yu Han is like a cat eating cat food, she only eats so little each time."

Han Yixian laughed and said, "Yuhan does have a small appetite. She used to eat very little when we were in Luancheng. I always had to urge her to eat more. Back then, we had no worries and were happy every day."

Yuhan also planted potatoes and sweet potatoes in the mountains. When autumn came, we rushed to bring them back, afraid they would be discovered and dug up by people coming into the mountains in search of food. Yuhan is also very good at fishing; she always catches a lot of fish.
