Chapter 212 Preparing to Make a Move

When Han Yi first came to Du Yuhan's house, he saw Du Yuhan sitting in the clinic wiping away tears.

Han Yixian immediately asked anxiously, "Yuhan, what's wrong? Who bullied you?"

Du Yuhan raised her tear-streaked face and said, "Why are you here? Are you busy with work? You haven't come for several days."

Han Yixian looked at Du Yuhan and put his arm around her shoulder, asking, "What happened? Why are you crying? Tell me what's wrong, and I'll help you."

Du Yuhan wiped away her tears and said, "Recently, I have been receiving a lot of calls from people who are sick because of hunger. Every time I see them in such a state of hunger, I feel terrible."

Today, a sick little boy was so hungry he cried and didn't even have the strength. I didn't dare give him any food; I was afraid of causing trouble. I only dared to give him a piece of candy under the guise of giving him his medicine. I feel so cowardly.

Han Yixian breathed a sigh of relief and said, "This isn't your fault. This situation is too common now. There's nothing anyone can do about it."

Du Yuhan said sadly, "But I clearly have a solution, yet I dare not implement it."

Han Yixian held Du Yuhan's hand and said, "Don't put pressure on yourself. This is a natural disaster, and no one can do anything about it. Yes, maybe you have a way, but have you thought about how to deal with the aftermath? You have to think about your own safety and your family's safety."

Du Yuhan said, "That's why I'm so timid and hesitant, and I don't dare to do anything."

She noticed that Han Yixian looked much thinner than when he had come a few days ago and asked, "Why have you lost so much weight? Have you been particularly busy with work lately?"

Han Yixian said, "The work is indeed very busy. The disaster is severe now, and relief supplies are needed everywhere. But there are only so many supplies, and it's difficult to distribute them. I've tried my best to find a way. But many places across the country have been affected by the disaster, and it's too difficult to borrow supplies. Right now, everyone is looking out for themselves first."

Several friends wrote to me for help; they had many children and were desperate, so they contacted me. I couldn't just ignore them, so I sent them some food from my own rations.

Du Yuhan asked, "So, do you often go hungry? What about Liu Gang? Does he also go hungry?"

Han Yixian said, "Hunger is inevitable. Everyone is going through the same thing, so we can't be any different. At least we still have something to eat every meal. Many people are almost out of food."

Du Yuhan didn't care about anything else at this moment and said, "Come on, let's go home, I'll cook for you."

Han Yixian said, "Wait a minute, I've found you a dog. You can keep it to guard the house. Otherwise, I'm really worried about you being home alone. I originally wanted to get you two, but with food so scarce right now, having more would be a waste."

After saying that, Han Yixian went out to the car and took out a small dog with yellowish fur.

Du Yuhan immediately fell in love with the adorable puppy and quickly took it from Han Yixian's arms.

She said, "Don't worry about me. Haifeng and the others often come to keep me company at night. How old is this puppy? Has it been weaned?"

Han Yixian said, "She was just weaned and can already eat solid food."

Du Yuhan closed the door of the clinic and took Han Yixian home. They went into the kitchen and started cooking.

Despite the hot weather, Du Yuhan decided to make cold noodles. She made meat sauce and other gravy, and also prepared vegetable toppings such as cucumber and cilantro.

Han Yixian watched as Du Yuhan poured out more than half a basin of flour and said, "Yuhan, you don't need to cook such a good meal for me. As long as there's food, that's fine. Keep the flour for yourself."

Du Yuhan said, "Never mind that, I still have some white powder."

After saying that, he ignored Han Yixian's attempts to stop him and kneaded a large dough. Soon, the noodles were ready after being rinsed and cooled in water.

Cold noodles are best in summer. Noodles made from pure white flour are very filling.

Du Yuhan took out an extra-large bowl and served Han Yixian noodles. The sauce and vegetable toppings were piled high on top of the noodles.

Du Yuhan placed the bowl of noodles in front of Han Yixian and said, "Eat quickly, we made a lot today, there's plenty, make sure you eat your fill."

Han Yixian looked at the oversized bowl filled to the brim with noodles and was deeply moved. Who would treat someone to such fine food these days? Only Du Yuhan would be so generous.

Du Yuhan was always completely open with him, and she always thought of him when she had something good.

Han Yixian said, "Sit down too, let's eat together."

The two sat facing each other, eating delicious noodles made of pure white flour, creating an indescribably warm atmosphere.

As Han Yixian ate, he thought that having a wife like Du Yuhan would be a blessing earned through countless lifetimes. He absolutely could not miss out on Du Yuhan. Otherwise, he would rather remain unmarried for the rest of his life.

Today, Han Yixian finally had a full meal, and he felt incredibly comfortable.

After the meal, Du Yuhan said, "You look very unwell. Go to the east room and sleep on the kang for a while to rest."

Han Yixian had been very busy with work lately and had very little time to rest each day. But when he was with Du Yuhan, he relaxed and felt exhausted.

He nodded and said, "Then I'll go take a nap. You should take a nap too."

The two went back to their rooms to rest. However, Du Yuhan went into her spatial dimension to pack her things. She needed to prepare some food for Han Yixian to take back with him, and also have Han Yixian take some home with him.

She planned to have her mother bring the two children to stay in the countryside for a while. It would be convenient to get food there, and they wouldn't be easily noticed.

After waking up, Han Yixian felt refreshed and his fatigue had completely disappeared.

He found Du Yuhan in the back kitchen, where she was packing her things.

Han Yi asked first, "Yuhan, what are you doing? Do you need my help?"
