Chapter 285 Chef Han's Skills

Looking at the things in the kitchen, Han Yixian couldn't help but recall what He Yuhan had said earlier—that she was an ordinary person with some special abilities. He wondered what those special abilities were. However, he felt that He Yuhan's abilities were quite extraordinary.

He thought about the series of events that had happened today. Where did He Yuhan get that strangely styled tranquilizer gun? How did she come to have such a tranquilizer gun? And who developed such an advanced device?

And what about all these things He Yuhan took out this afternoon? How did she manage to get so many things in such a short time?

Han Yixian felt that he had touched the edge of He Yuhan's secret, and he felt that everything was related to He Yuhan's secret.

However, he could have suspicions, but he couldn't ask openly, nor did he want to investigate, for fear of putting He Yuhan in a difficult position.

Perhaps one day He Yuhan will tell him her secret. Judging from the fact that He Yuhan is becoming less and less secretive in front of him, he believes that day is not far away.

Han Yi first kneaded a dough to prepare for rolling out noodles, then cut a piece of pork and fried a bowl of meat sauce.

He took out a potato, a carrot, and an onion, peeled them, diced them all, added diced meat and eggs to make a sauce for noodles, and also shredded some cabbage, blanched it, and used it as a topping.

Once all the toppings are prepared, cover them with a plate and then boil water and roll out the noodles.

He has made noodles at home several times and is now quite skilled at it.

Soon the noodles on the cutting board were cut out. Han Yixian's knife skills were impeccable; the noodles he cut were all the same thickness and very even, and you would never guess that he was a novice cook.

With everything prepared, Han Yixian didn't rush to cook the noodles. Instead, he went into the east room to check on He Yuhan's rest.

Upon entering the east room, Han Yixian saw that He Yuhan was already fast asleep, breathing evenly. It seemed his fiancée was truly exhausted today.

Han Yixian didn't wake He Yuhan. Instead, he went to the kitchen, put a strainer in the hot water pot, and put the prepared sauce and other ingredients in the pot to keep them warm so they wouldn't get cold later.

Then Han Yixian returned to the east room and sat on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed) watching He Yuhan. He then took a quilt, covered himself with it, and lay down beside He Yuhan, using the pillow to look at her sleeping face. After a while, not satisfied, he quietly slipped his hand under the quilt and took He Yuhan's hand.

He held He Yuhan's hand and looked at her, feeling a warm and cozy feeling. He closed his eyes and fell asleep.

He Yuhan was woken up by hunger. She had been very hungry before she fell asleep, and now her stomach was growling. She opened her eyes and found herself in complete darkness; she knew it was already dark.

Suddenly she heard breathing beside her. Turning her head, she saw someone fast asleep next to her. She knew without guessing that it was Han Yixian. This guy had actually slept next to her without her permission.

However, since this guy seems fairly honest, I won't hold it against him.

She suddenly realized that one of her hands was being held by Han Yixian. He Yuhan chuckled inwardly; this guy must have secretly taken her hand while she was asleep. She wondered if he had done anything else out of line while she was asleep.

After my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I could vaguely see that Han Yixian was also sound asleep, covered by a quilt and with his head on a pillow. This guy isn't stupid; he even knows to cover himself with a quilt.

He Yuhan felt that Han Yixian's hands were particularly warm, and he wrapped her hands in his big hands.

The room was warm, and there was a heated kang bed beneath her. Even with the quilt covering her, He Yuhan felt a little hot.

He Yuhan tried to quietly pull her hand away from Han Yixian's grasp, but Han Yixian woke up immediately.

His voice was somewhat hoarse as he spoke in the darkness, "Yuhan, are you awake?"

He Yuhan replied, "I just woke up. I was woken up by hunger; my stomach was growling."

In the darkness, Han Yixian let out a deep, magnetic laugh, "I've already prepared dinner, but I didn't want to wake you since you were sleeping so soundly. Since you're hungry, I'll cook you some noodles."

As he spoke, Han Yixian sat up, found the light cord, and turned on the light.

The room suddenly lit up, a bit too brightly. He Yuhan sat up after adjusting for a moment and said, "Having electric lights is so convenient. Just pull the cord and the room is lit, unlike in the countryside where we had to use kerosene lamps. I wonder when Laohewan Village will get electricity?"

Han Yixian said, "Currently, the country has few power plants, and they are small in scale with limited power generation. It's already good enough if they can supply the cities. The industrial base in Northeast China is relatively good, so our city C has a power plant that can supply the entire city C with electricity, but it is still insufficient to supply electricity to rural areas."

This is still considered good, though, as many cities don't have their own power plants and experience frequent power outages. Construction of power plants has never stopped, but acquiring the necessary equipment is no easy task.

He Yuhan sighed and said, "Power generation equipment is indeed difficult to obtain. But the lack of electricity will also limit our development. Electricity is essential for a large enterprise. Since our city C has a power plant, we can expand its scale on the existing basis, at least to bring electricity to the villages and towns around our city C."

Han Yixian said, "It won't be easy for your wish to come true, but I can try my best to get the villages over Laohewan Village connected to electricity ahead of schedule."

He Yuhan quickly said, "I was just saying, don't break the rules because of this."

Han Yixian said, "Don't worry, I will definitely follow the rules. There's no rush, we can handle it slowly later."

I'll go cook some noodles, you go wash your face, we'll eat in a bit, try my cooking today."

He Yuhan got up as instructed, went to the bathroom to get a basin, poured some hot water from the kettle on the boiler room stove, and washed her face. She immediately felt more awake.

When He Yuhan entered the kitchen, she saw Han Yixian adding firewood to the stove to boil water in preparation for cooking noodles.

She saw several plates and bowls on the counter, and since they were still warm, she brought all the dishes to the restaurant.

Han Yixian quickly cooked the noodles. In winter, noodles don't need to be rinsed; they can be eaten hot directly.

Both of them were hungry. Sitting at the table, Han Yixian first served He Yuhan a large bowl of noodles and added a lot of side dishes, saying, "Try my cooking, eat more."

He Yuhan took the bowl of noodles and said, "Then I'll try Chef Han's cooking. If it's delicious, I'll eat more."

Han Yixian laughed and said, "I've already tried it, and it tastes pretty good. I'm your apprentice, after all, and I won't embarrass you as your master."

He Yuhan laughed and said, "Then I'll have to eat more."

Then she started eating the noodles in her bowl, and seeing Han Yi waiting for her evaluation, she nodded and said, "Delicious."

Then they stopped saying anything and showed their feelings through their actions.

Han Yi was overjoyed to receive his fiancée's approval, his eyes crinkling with happiness. He then began to devour the delicious noodles he had made.
