After looking at the house, Han Yixian walked into the yard and looked at He Yuhan, saying, "Yuhan, we're married now, shouldn't you change how you address me? Calling me 'Brother Han' sounds too distant."
He Yuhan was taken aback. "Then what should I call you? It's just a form of address."
Han Yixian said, "I'm the closest person to you, so my way of addressing you should be different from how you address others. Why don't you call me Brother Yixian?"
He Yuhan shuddered upon hearing this. Calling her that made it sound like she was being coquettish. She shouldn't call her that.
She quickly shook her head and said, "That's not a good way to address you. I'll call you Brother Xian instead."
Han Yixian shook his head and said, "No, many people call me that, it's not original. I think the way you address me is different from others, a name that only you can use."
He Yuhan said helplessly to Han Yixian's persistence, "Then I'll call you Brother Yi. Nobody else has ever called you that, so it's different, right?"
Han Yixian looked at He Yuhan with burning eyes and said, "I remember you called me 'husband' twice before, without thinking. It's a nice way to address someone. In many places in the south, that's how people address their husbands. Would you call me that too?"
He Yuhan twitched her lips upon hearing this and said, "This isn't a good idea. It wouldn't be good if someone heard us. After all, nobody here calls people that."
Han Yixian said, "Then just call me Brother Yi when no one's around, and when people are around, just call me Brother Yi."
"Okay, whatever you say."
Han Yixian's lips curled up and his eyes lit up as he said, "Then call me 'husband' now and let me hear it."
He Yuhan blushed, rolled her eyes at Han Yixian, and said, "I can't be bothered with you." Then she went inside.
Han Yixian touched his nose and chuckled before following him into the house.
He Yuhan looked around the room and said, "Let's eat in the space today. I'm tired after driving and riding in cars all day."
Seeing his wife's tired expression and hearing her say she was exhausted, Han Yixian lost all interest in joking and said, "Then let's hurry up and go into the space."
After the two entered the space, Han Yi said first, "Go take a shower, I'll cook. I'll just make noodles, it'll be quick, the food will be ready by the time you finish showering."
He Yuhan didn't stand on ceremony and went upstairs to take a shower.
Han Yixian went straight into the kitchen and quickly cooked a pot of noodles with meat and vegetables.
When He Yuhan came downstairs after taking a shower, the noodles were already cooked.
The two quickly ate their noodles, and He Yuhan cleared the dishes and told Han Yi to go upstairs to take a shower first.
After they finished packing, they left the space.
Han Yi first told He Yuhan to rest at home, as he was going out to make a phone call to his father.
He Yuhan was indeed tired and fell asleep as soon as she lay down on the bed.
Han Yixian knew his father would be working late and was probably still in his office, so he called his father's office directly.
Han Xiao was curious when he received his son's call. He had just returned from City C not long ago, so his son must have something to say for calling now.
"Yixian, is something the matter?" Han Xiao asked.
Han Yixian said on the phone, "Dad, is anyone in your office? Is it a convenient time to talk?"
Han Xiao replied, "No one's here. What's the matter?"
Han Yixian took a deep breath and said, "Dad, I'm in Kyoto now, and I'd like to see you."
Han Xiao asked in surprise, "What are you doing in Kyoto?"
Han Yixian said, "I have important business in Kyoto. Please come to my small courtyard in Xicheng tonight. Yuhan and I will be staying there for the next couple of days. I have some good news to tell you."
Upon hearing the good news, Han Xiao exclaimed with delight, "Is my daughter-in-law pregnant? Am I going to have a grandson?"
Han Yixian twitched his lips on the other end of the phone and said helplessly, "Dad, we've only been married for a short time, it can't be that fast. Dad, please come over after get off work. My time in Kyoto is tight, I have to go back the day after tomorrow, and I have a lot of work waiting for me."
Han Xiao said, "Okay, I'll get off work right away and head over there."
Han Xiao was very curious about what good news his son had brought. He quickly packed his things and left work.
Instead of having the driver take him directly to his son's place, Han Xiao went straight back to his current residence, and then another car took him to the small courtyard where Han Yixian lived.
When Han Yi finished his phone call and returned home, he saw that his wife was already fast asleep. He knew that his wife must be exhausted from the long journey she had taken today, which involved taking turns driving with him on difficult roads.
He didn't call He Yuhan, but instead closed the bedroom door and sat in the living room waiting for his father.
When Han Xiao arrived at the small courtyard where Han Yixian lived, he knocked on the door and Han Yixian opened it for him.
After closing the courtyard gate, the father and son went into the living room.
Han Xiao asked softly, "Is your daughter-in-law asleep?"
Han Yi nodded and said, "We drove here, and we took turns driving the whole way. She's exhausted. I told her to rest first. Let's keep our voices down."
Han Xiao nodded and sat down on the sofa in the living room, asking, "What important matter brings you to Kyoto this time? Why are you in such a hurry?"
Han Yi poured his father a cup of tea and said, "Dad, I told you you can't get too excited. Yuhan said you can't be too happy or sad, it's bad for your health."
Han Xiao waved his hand and said, "Don't worry, I'm not excited. Hurry up and say it, stop beating around the bush."
Han Yixian said, "Dad, I've found my mother, Wen Jinyu."
Upon hearing this, Han Xiao stood up in surprise and grabbed Han Yixian's arm, asking anxiously, "Really? Are you sure it's really your mother?"
Han Yixian replied, "I'm sure she looks a lot like the person in your photo. She also has the other half of the jade pendant I'm wearing. She also knows about what happened before."
Han Xiao's eyes welled up with tears of excitement. "Then it doesn't matter. Yi Xian, how is your mother?"
Han Yixian said, "My mother has suffered a lot over the years, but her sworn brother has always protected her, so she hasn't been seriously harmed."
Han Xiao was taken aback and asked, "Brother, is your name Liu Zhongyi?"
Han Yixian nodded and said, "Yes, my uncle's name is Liu Zhongyi."
Han Xiao nodded and said, "That is indeed your mother's sworn brother. Back then, he escaped from the palace of the previous dynasty and was taken in by the Wen family. Your maternal grandfather then recognized him as his sworn son."
He was already disabled and somewhat insecure, but the Wen family treated him very well, and he was utterly loyal to them. Unexpectedly, he was the one who ultimately helped the Wen family preserve a bloodline. We must repay them properly.”
Han Yixian said, "I've already arranged for them to stay in Laohewan Village, in the house Yuhan built last year. Don't worry about it. What are you going to do about my mother?"
Han Xiao thought for a moment and said, "I'll arrange some work, find a pretext for a business trip, and then secretly go to City C to see your mother. Don't reveal her current identity yet, so as not to bring them any danger."
Han Yixian agreed, saying, "That's what I was thinking too. Let my mother and the others keep their old names. We'll talk about it again after everything on your side is settled."
