Chapter 446 The baby was born

Time flies, and the Spring Festival is over in the blink of an eye. He Yuhan is about to give birth, and the Han family is on high alert every day.

Wen Jinyu and He Yuhan had already prepared the baby's blankets, clothes, diapers, bottles, and other necessities.

Because of their jobs, Han Xiao and Han Yixian also had a telephone installed at home, which made things much more convenient.

Now that they have a phone, Han Yixian calls back several times a day to check on He Yuhan's condition. He tells her to go to the hospital immediately if she feels unwell. He also goes home to check on her every day at noon.

It was the Lantern Festival, and everyone went home early to celebrate. Han Yixian also went home early.

Now, unless there's something urgent, he goes home early after get off work and never lingers outside.

Han Xiao came back early today, and everyone sat down at the table to eat early.

Just as He Yuhan finished eating and was about to clear the table, she clutched her stomach and cried out in pain.

Because He Yuhan's due date was approaching, Han Yixian had been on edge these past few days. When he heard that He Yuhan's voice sounded off, he quickly supported his wife and asked, "Yuhan, what's wrong? Are you going into labor?"

He Yuhan frowned and nodded, saying, "Brother Yi, I think I'm about to give birth."

As soon as these words were spoken, the Han family immediately sprang into action.

Han Xiao said, "Yi Xian, hurry up and start the car. Jin Yu, quickly help your daughter-in-law inside to get dressed. It's so cold outside, she should wear more clothes. I'll go get the things we prepared for her hospital stay."

Upon hearing this, Wen Jinyu quickly said, "It's on the kang (heated brick bed) in the middle room. Hurry up and take it all to the car."

Han Yi started the car first, while Wen Jinyu helped He Yuhan get dressed.

The family quickly got into the car and headed to the hospital.

Han Yixian had already contacted the hospital in advance, and this phone call ensured that everything was ready when they arrived. He Yuhan was immediately taken to the delivery room upon arrival.

After her daughter-in-law entered the delivery room, Wen Jinyu realized she hadn't informed the He family yet and asked, "Yixian, have you called your father-in-law and mother-in-law?"

Han Yi slapped his forehead and said, "I forgot in my haste. I'll go make the call right now."

Han Yixian made a phone call to the He family from the hospital.

The He family had just finished dinner when they received the call, and the whole family panicked. They quickly rushed to the hospital.

Han Yixian waited anxiously at the door of the delivery room. At first, there was no sound from inside the delivery room, but then He Yuhan started calling out again and again.

Hearing He Yuhan's cries from inside the delivery room, Han Yixian paced anxiously back and forth at the door.

Time ticked by, and everyone grew increasingly impatient.

It was past 10 p.m. and the baby still hadn't been born. Both little ones who had come to the hospital with her were sleepy.

Han Yixian asked his mother anxiously, "Mom, why hasn't the baby been born yet after so long?"

Seeing her son sweating profusely, Wen Jinyu comforted him, "The time it takes for a woman to give birth varies. When I gave birth to you, I almost had a difficult labor, and it took a full ten hours to deliver you."

Yuhan has only been here a few hours, it can't be that fast.

Yu Huiru, who has had three children, is quite experienced and said, "Yes, it hasn't been that long. All three of my children took longer. This is Yuhan's first pregnancy, so it will definitely take longer."

Han Xiao had never experienced childbirth before. Now, seeing how difficult it was for women to give birth, and hearing his wife say that she almost had a difficult delivery, he held Wen Jinyu's hand tightly with heartache.

At this moment, no one was paying attention to Han Xiao's movements; everyone was focused on the commotion in the delivery room, fearing some unexpected event might occur.

Wen Jinyu tried to pull her hand away but couldn't, so she let Han Xiao do as he pleased. She knew Han Xiao felt sorry for her, and her heart felt both bittersweet.

Everyone was eagerly anticipating what was to come when they heard He Yuhan scream from the delivery room, followed by the cry of a newborn baby.

To everyone, this cry was a blessing.

Han Yixian excitedly grabbed his mother's arm and said, "It's born! Mom, it's born! Yuhan has given birth!"

Wen Jinyu also held her son's hand and nodded, saying, "She gave birth. Yuhan's delivery was quite fast."

Yu Huiru was also very excited, "That's right, this is considered fast."

A short while later, a nurse came out of the delivery room carrying a swaddled baby and said, "Family of the mother, the mother has given birth to a big, healthy baby boy weighing seven pounds and eight ounces. Congratulations!"

Everyone cheered upon hearing this, and even the two children, Gu Huayang and He Haobo, who had been woken up, clapped and cheered along, because they had a younger brother.

Han Yixian quickly asked, "Nurse, how is my wife?"

The nurse replied, "The mother is doing well. This delivery went very smoothly; it's one of the fastest deliveries we've seen. She'll be able to leave the delivery room and go to her ward soon. You can take the baby to the ward first."

Han Yixian nodded happily and said, "Okay, thank you, thank you. I finally have a son."

She wanted to hug her son, but she didn't know how, afraid that she would lose control of her grip and hurt the child.

Wen Jinyu smiled when she saw her son's expression and quickly went over to carefully take her eldest grandson in her arms.

Han Xiao and He Chenglin, a married couple, also gathered around.

Han Xiao chuckled as he looked at his eldest grandson, whose head was full of black hair, his face was flushed, and his eyes were closed. He finally had a grandson, and the Han family had an heir.

He turned to He Chenglin, who was also looking at his grandson, and smiled, "Old He, I have a grandson now."

He Chenglin smiled and said, "I have a grandson now."

Han Xiao wanted to hold his grandson but didn't dare, and the others could only watch.

Yu Huiru said, "It's a bit cold in this hallway. Let's quickly take the child to the ward. Yuhan will be out in a little while."

Han Yixian said, "Mom, you take the baby to the ward first. I'll wait here for Yuhan to come out."

The delivery room door opened as soon as she finished speaking, and He Yuhan was pushed out of it.

Han Yixian quickly bent down to He Yuhan and asked, "Yuhan, how are you feeling?"

He Yuhan's hair was already soaked with sweat, her face was very pale, and she had no strength at all. She said weakly, "I'm fine, is the baby okay?"

Han Yixian quickly replied, "The child is fine, a big, healthy boy weighing seven pounds and eight ounces. Thank you, Yuhan."

Hearing this, He Yuhan felt relieved and quickly closed her eyes weakly.

Soon the group arrived at the ward.

Han Yixian specially booked a private room for his wife. He said that there were three beds in the private room, but there were no other patients there.

Wen Jinyu put her grandson on a bed and said, "Mother-in-law, you stay here and watch over Yuhan. I'll have Lao Han take me back to cook for Yuhan. She'll be able to have a hot meal when she wakes up."

Yu Huiru said, "Don't worry, I'll take care of things here."
