Chapter 598 Arrival at the Destination

Han Yixian glanced at the boxes but didn't react much, because like He Yuhan, he had seen too many of them.

He glanced at the size of the box, which required two people to lift, and said, "Alright, let's get to work quickly, the sooner we finish moving it, the better."

Jiang Bowen opened several boxes, which were filled with jewelry, jade, antiques and calligraphy and paintings.

He pointed to the contents of the box and said, "Sister Yuhan, see if there's anything you like. Grandpa said it's a gift for you."

Without even glancing at the contents of the boxes, He Yuhan locked them all again, saying, "I don't want them. Your sister Yuhan doesn't need these things. But although we can't take these things out now, who can guarantee what will happen in the future? Your grandfather has a long-term vision. Keep these things with me for now, and I'll give them to you when they're ready to be taken out."

These things will belong to you and Xiyue from now on. Perhaps you will even rely on these things to bring glory to the Jiang family in the future. Just keep the list in your hand safe.

"After we leave City C, if you encounter any difficulties at home, please write or call me. Whatever you do, don't sell those old things you have; they're worthless and too dangerous. Understand?"

Jiang Bowen was touched, and his eyes welled up with tears as he nodded and said, "Yes, I'll remember."

He Yuhan said, "I'll provide the light for you, and you can carry the boxes."

The three of them worked until midnight to load all the boxes onto the truck.

Looking at the empty tomb chamber, He Yuhan said, "We should leave some worthless things here, so that if someone finds this place in the future and sees something here, they won't suspect that someone in your family took everything."

Jiang Bowen said, "There are two boxes in the coffin, which Grandpa specially prepared to dispel any suspicions."

Upon hearing this, He Yuhan said, "Alright, Grandpa Jiang is very thoughtful. Let's go then."

They restored the tombstone to its original state, cleaned up all traces, and then the three of them, carrying their belongings, rushed back to the city overnight.

Unbeknownst to them, shortly after they took the items, people began searching for anything the Jiang family might have left behind in the Jiang family's ancestral home, even suspecting that the Jiang family's ancestral graves were nearby, and they were preparing to investigate.

As Han Yixian drove closer to their guesthouse, He Yuhan said, "Bowen, when we get to the guesthouse, you go back and rest first. Your brother Han and I will have these things moved. Your brother Han has already made the arrangements."

Jiang Bowen nodded and said, "Okay, I'll go back and rest first."

Upon arriving at the guesthouse, Jiang Bowen got out of the car and went to his room to rest. Han Yixian then drove He Yuhan to a relatively secluded place, where He Yuhan stored all the suitcases in the car into her spatial storage before they returned to the guesthouse.

The next day, after everyone had rested, Han Yixian returned the car.

Now that things were settled here, they could leave. Jiang Bowen went straight back to City C, while Han Yixian and the others continued their originally planned journey.

He Yuhan bought some steamed buns at a state-run restaurant, and some pastries and fruits at a store for Jiang Bowen to take on the train. Han Yixian also bought Jiang Bowen a train ticket back to City C.

Jiang Bowen felt like he was being taken care of like a child. His sister Yuhan and her husband had arranged everything for him. He was truly lucky to have such a sister.

The four of them arrived at the train station. Jiang Bowen's train was leaving first, so they helped Jiang Bowen board the train first.

He Yuhan handed Jiang Bowen some food coupons and said, "Don't be stingy with food on the train. It'll be several days before you get back. Go to the dining car and buy some vegetables."

Jiang Bowen was deeply moved by He Yuhan's words and listened attentively, nodding repeatedly. "Sister Yuhan, don't worry, I'm an adult now. I can take care of myself. I studied in another city for a year, and I traveled back and forth by train by myself. It was no problem."

After seeing Jiang Bowen off, Han Yixian and the others also boarded the train.

Liu Zhongyi knew that Han Yixian and his group's stay here must be related to the Jiang family, but he didn't ask any further questions.

They traveled by train for several more days before finally arriving in H City, Y Province. They found a guesthouse in the city and stayed there for a good night's rest.

Before coming to H City, Han Yixian had already made arrangements; someone in H City would meet them. After resting for one night, someone would come to pick up Han Yixian and his group and take them directly to Beili Village.

Although there are buses from Qianyuan County to the city, there are no buses from Beidian Town, where Beili Village is located, making transportation very inconvenient. That's why Han Yixian decided to go directly from the city to Beili Village.

They had so much luggage, and his uncle was getting old; he couldn't bear to let his uncle and wife get tired.

It's still January, and the daytime temperature in H City only reaches a high of around ten degrees Celsius, which is much warmer than Northeast China. Wearing a sweater during the day is fine. It gets colder at night.

However, it is indeed spring-like all year round here, and everything is green, which feels very refreshing to people who are used to living in the north.

Looking at the scenery outside the car window, He Yuhan felt that life here wasn't bad. As long as the family lived together peacefully, that was better than anything else. They could go back whenever they wanted once things improved.

There are many mountain roads along the way; there are indeed many mountains here, and you can see mountains everywhere, as well as many terraced fields.

The road conditions were alright at the beginning, but became particularly bad and bumpy on the country roads. However, this was the general situation and couldn't be compared to the paved roads connecting every village in later generations.

After more than three hours of bumpy travel, we finally arrived at Beili Village, a small mountain village with a small population.

Gao Shuwen had already received Han Xiao's letter and knew that Han Yixian and the others would arrive in the next few days, so he asked his eldest grandson to keep an eye out at the entrance of the village and to tell him immediately if he saw any cars or strangers coming into the village.

Gao Shuwen's eldest grandson, Gao Hongbin, is already six years old. He is perfectly capable of handling the tasks assigned by his grandfather. As soon as he saw a car coming from outside the village, the little guy ran home.

As Gao Hongbin ran into the yard, he shouted, "Grandpa, a big truck has arrived outside the village! Go and take a look!"

Upon hearing this, Gao Shuwen, who was inside the house, said to his wife Zhao Lijuan, "It must be Yixian and the others. They've finally arrived. Guohua, you and the others come with me to greet them."

After saying that, Gao Shuwen led his sons out of the house and headed towards the village entrance.

He Yuhan watched as the car stopped at the village entrance. The village was situated on a gentle slope, with houses built in a staggered pattern, some next to each other, others standing alone. Most houses were made of stone, some with thatched roofs, others with black tile roofs. With so many mountains here, stones were plentiful. A few houses were also made of brick and tile, but they were few and far between.

The car stopped at the entrance of the village. Han Yixian said, "We've arrived. Please wait here for a moment. I'll go into the village to find out where Uncle Gao's house is."
