One weekend after autumn began, Zhou Zhengye arrived at the Han family's courtyard. Han Yixian happened to be home and received him.
Gu Qishen and He Zhenhua were also at the Han family home, and they were very happy to see Zhou Zhengye.
After getting married, He Zhenhua and Yan Qingya started cooking for themselves at their own home. After all, he had his own family now, and he couldn't continue to live with the Han family.
However, He Zhenhua and Yan Qingya both had to go to work during the day, so He Haobo stayed at the Han family home during the day and ate almost every meal there.
Every weekend, He Yuhan would invite He Zhenhua and Yan Qingya over for dinner, which was also a way to improve their lives. So, apart from moving to a different place and having to sleep in his own room at night, He Haobo's daily life remained almost unchanged. Yan Qingya treated him very well at home, so he adapted well to his father's marriage and the arrival of his new mother.
Liu Gang and Yuan Qihua lived in Gu Qishen's courtyard. All of them were single and very busy with work. Yuan Qihua was often not home, so He Yuhan didn't let them cook. They still ate together at the Han family's house.
Gu Huayang felt he was all grown up and should help his aunt look after his younger brother and do housework. He often helped his aunt start the fire when she cooked, and he was quite skilled at it now.
Moreover, his aunt would often feed him freshly made delicious food while she was cooking, and he really enjoyed spending time with her.
Gu Huayang once dreamed that his aunt would be his mother, but as he grew older, he knew it was impossible. He could only consider his aunt as his mother in his heart. He could feel that his aunt's care and love for him was like a mother's, and he enjoyed this feeling.
He Yuhan pays close attention to the mental health of her two nephews. She knows that her role is like that of a mother to them, so she cares for and loves her two nephews no less than she would her own son.
It was the weekend, and everyone was off work, so they all gathered in the Han family's courtyard. Some were playing chess, some were playing with their children, some were chatting, and He Yuhan and Yan Qingya were preparing food. So when Zhou Zhengye walked into the Han family's courtyard, he felt that the courtyard was very lively.
Everyone stood up to greet Zhou Zhengye when he arrived.
After everyone was seated in the living room, Han Yi asked, "What brings you here today?"
Zhou Zhengye said, "I'm being transferred to the machinery manufacturing plant in Qianyuan County, and I'll be working here from now on. I heard that Uncle Han and the others are here with you, so I came to visit."
Gu Qishen said, "The city said they're sending someone to the machinery factory to participate in management. Could it be you?"
Zhou Zhengye nodded and said, "That's right, it's me. The machinery manufacturing plant in Qianyuan County is developing very well now, and the city attaches great importance to it, which is why they wanted to send someone down. The leaders discussed it and then sent me."
What Zhou Zhengye didn't say was that the person the city was planning to send this time wasn't originally him; he had volunteered to come.
Ever since Han Yixian and his group arrived in Qianyuan County and he saw He Yuhan again, he has been having recurring dreams about her. The scenes in his dreams are all of him and He Yuhan living together.
He never wanted to wake up, hoping to spend more time with He Yuhan in his dreams. Only in his dreams could he satisfy his secret desires.
He had never let go of He Yuhan in his heart, and he simply couldn't control his feelings for her.
When He Yuhan had her accident in Kyoto, he thought she was dead. He was heartbroken and even fought with Han Yixian for her sake.
Later, when he heard that He Yuhan had not died and had married Han Yixian, he felt remorse and regret. He regretted not expressing his feelings to He Yuhan and missing out on the girl he liked.
He knew that He Yuhan had married Han Yixian and he would never have another chance. He forced himself to forget He Yuhan, suppressed his desire to find out anything about her, and even recklessly got married and left for another place, all to try and forget her. She was someone else's wife, and he was afraid that if he fell any deeper, he might do something irreversible.
He has his own bottom line; he can't break up other people's families, especially since Han Yixian is his good brother.
But after seeing He Yuhan again in Qianyuan County, he realized that his feelings for her hadn't faded; in fact, they had deepened. Lately, he'd been dreaming about He Yuhan almost every day. In his dreams, He Yuhan was his wife.
There was always a voice in his heart telling him that He Yuhan should have been his wife, and that Han Yixian had taken He Yuhan away and ruined their marriage.
Zhou Zhengye spent every day in agony. He wanted to see He Yuhan, but he was also afraid that he would do something inappropriate.
Now that he had the opportunity to work in Qianyuan County, he couldn't help but fight for it. Because working in Qianyuan County would bring him closer to He Yuhan.
He also knew that He Yuhan was the technical advisor at the machinery manufacturing plant, and that the company he was working for in Qianyuan County was the same machinery manufacturing plant. So, would he be able to see He Yuhan more often in the future?
They could meet anywhere outside the Han family compound, and with Han Yixian not around, he became even more determined to get the job.
He pulled some strings and finally secured the job, which would allow him to legitimately stay in Qianyuan County and meet He Yuhan. He couldn't care less about anything else; only this way could he find peace of mind. Otherwise, he feared he would go crazy.
Han Yixian was very happy to hear that Zhou Zhengye was coming to work in Qianyuan County, but he also had a faint sense of worry.
He knew about Zhou Zhengye's feelings for He Yuhan back then. When He Yuhan had her accident in Kyoto, Zhou Zhengye fought with him and confessed his feelings for He Yuhan, which shocked him.
So when he learned that He Yuhan was still alive, he couldn't wait to marry her. And before marrying her, he did his best to keep the news of her being alive a secret, because he was afraid that Zhou Zhengye would find out and compete with him.
He admitted that he had used some tactics to prevent Zhou Zhengye from getting news of He Yuhan. He only let Zhou Zhengye know about He Yuhan after she married him.
He believed that Zhou Zhengye would stop pursuing He Yuhan after learning that she had married him. He trusted Zhou Zhengye's character and believed that he would not cross that line.
With his keen observation skills, it wasn't hard for him to notice that Zhou Zhengye's eyes were always following He Yuhan, and he could tell that Zhou Zhengye hadn't let go of He Yuhan. But now He Yuhan was his wife, and he would protect his family and not let anyone destroy it.
If Zhou Zhengye really disregards their brotherhood and tries to ruin his relationship with his wife, then he and Zhou Zhengye will no longer be brothers.
