Chapter 785 Arrival in Kyoto

Two days later, Han Yi first went to the county to borrow a truck and said goodbye to Beili Village with his family and luggage.

When the villagers of Beili Village learned that the Han family was leaving, each family gave them some wild mountain produce they had gathered. They didn't have much else to give, so they thought these wild mountain produce were presentable enough.

He Yuhan knew that this was the villagers' good intention, and she accepted all the gifts from each family, which were not much, and even gave some return gifts.

Han Yi first planned to meet his father-in-law and the others in the county, and then they would go to the city together to take the train the next day. Someone drove them to the city station.

Upon arriving in the county, He Chenglin delivered another piece of good news to Han Xiao. Knowing that the Han family was returning, people in Kyoto had returned all the houses Han Xiao had previously lent out, so the entire Han family mansion had now been returned.

The Han family was very happy, because now they wouldn't have to bother asking for their house back.

He Yuhan said, "After we get back, let's stay in one courtyard first, and have someone tidy up the other courtyards. Once they're all ready, we'll move into separate courtyards."

Han Yixian said, "We'll design it properly then, and you can renovate the courtyard you live in according to your own preferences."

He Yuhan said, "For future convenience, we definitely need an indoor bathroom and shower, so the renovation project is quite extensive."

He Chenglin and his group had already packed their luggage, and some items had been mailed back to Kyoto in advance, so they didn't have much luggage.

The courtyard where they lived had been sold to someone else, along with the furniture and other items they couldn't take with them.

Yan Qingya's belly was already showing, and with elderly people and children to take care of, plus the long journey, Han Yi first asked someone to buy sleeper tickets for her.

After resting for a night, everyone was taken to the city's train station the next day. They only breathed a sigh of relief after everyone boarded the train and settled into their berths.

He Yuhan brought out the fruit she had prepared in advance for everyone, and also brought hot water.

She glanced at Yan Qingya's face and asked, "Sister-in-law, how are you feeling? Are you alright?"

Yan Qingya said, "It's alright, just a little tired."

He Yuhan quickly opened the blanket on the lower bunk and said, "Then you should lie down and rest. You're pregnant now, so you need to rest when you're tired. Tell me if you feel uncomfortable."

He Yuhan made a cup of lemon water for her sister-in-law to drink to soothe her, and then let her rest.

The elderly were all a bit tired, so He Yuhan told them to rest. The children, on the other hand, were very excited because they were going to Kyoto, to go back to their real home.

Han Zixin had been feeling carsick the whole way, and Gu Huayang had been taking care of her. Now that she was on the train, she felt much better. Gu Huayang was sitting next to her, feeding her fruit; the sweet and sour fruit would help a lot.

Han Yixian and Gu Qishen finally had time to rest after putting all their luggage away.

Then the train slowly started moving. It was the first time for Han Xugan and the others to ride a train, and they were all very curious to see the train moving. They sat by the window watching the scenery rushing past, chattering away and asking the adults all sorts of questions. The adults patiently explained things to them.

He Yuhan glanced at her watch and saw that it was already noon. She took out the dry food, meat sauce, and side dishes that she had prepared in advance. Han Yixian and Gu Qishen went to the dining car and bought some soup. Everyone happily ate a meal.

It was the children's first time eating on a train, and they were very curious about it, which didn't affect their appetite at all.

By evening, the children's novelty had worn off, and they all quieted down.

He Yuhan took out fruit for the elderly and children. Traveling by train is known to cause heatiness, so He Yuhan prepared plenty of long-lasting fruit to supplement the vitamins for the elderly and children.

There were many of them, so they stayed in several sleeper compartments. The elderly people and Yan Qingya were all assigned to the lower bunks, while the children and men were on the upper bunks. It was safer for the children to be on the upper bunks.

He Yuhan was very careful; it would be troublesome if the children encountered human traffickers on the train. Han Yixian also reminded everyone to be extra cautious.

Fortunately, the environment in the sleeper carriage is much better, and there are far fewer people, making it much quieter than the hard seat carriage.

Gu Huayang, He Haobo, and Han Xurui were all instructed to take good care of their younger siblings.

Gu Huayang stayed by Han Zixin's side constantly, taking meticulous care of his younger sister.

The brothers thought that if the human traffickers were foolish enough to try to take advantage of them, they would beat them to a pulp and send them all to jail.

As it got dark, He Yuhan started preparing dinner for everyone again. The things she brought would last at least a few days, but the dry food wouldn't keep for long, so she brought less. They could buy more on the train; they had prepared quite a few food coupons.

After dinner, the younger children quickly became sleepy. He Yuhan then put them to bed. Gu Huayang and his brothers looked after their younger siblings.

The elderly people were also a bit tired, so they all went to bed to rest.

Han Yixian looked at his wife, who had finally had a moment to rest after all the fuss, and said softly, "Yuhan, take a break. If you're tired, go to bed and rest."

He Yuhan shook her head and said, "I didn't do any heavy work, I'm not tired. Let's sit in the aisle for a while."

Han Yi nodded and led He Yuhan to the connecting area between the carriages, where they could talk without disturbing others and still see their sleeper compartments.

He Yuhan asked, "Are you very excited about going back to Kyoto?"

Han Yixian pulled his wife up and said with a smile, "I am a little excited, after all, I grew up there. But now I have you and the children, wherever you are, that's my home."

Just like in Beili Village, I think it's very nice, quiet and leisurely.

He Yuhan said, "The children are all grown up now, and for their future, we have to go back to Kyoto. This time when we go back, Huayang and the others will be taking their college entrance exams, and they will gradually form their own circles of friends. One by one, they will be leaving us."

Han Yi put his arm around his wife's shoulder and comforted her, saying, "The children will grow up sooner or later, and they will all have their own lives, just like us."

However, the children will all be applying to universities in Kyoto, which isn't too far from us, and they can come home on weekends. We can still see them often then.

He Yuhan sighed and said, "When we go back to Kyoto, Huayang and Haobo will definitely go back to their own homes. I don't think I'll see them on weekends. I've lived with the children for so many years, and it's really hard to part with them now."

Han Yixian said, "We have plenty of houses. We can prepare rooms for Gu Huayang and Haobo and let them come and stay at our house often. Although you are their aunt and godmother, they actually treat you like their mother. Don't worry, they will definitely come to see you often."

Besides, if Huayang really becomes our son-in-law in the future, our relationship will be even closer.

As the train traveled north, the climate gradually changed. By the time we reached the north, it was already autumn.

He Yuhan found some thicker clothes to wear when she got off the train.

When the train arrived at Kyoto Station, He Yuhan felt an indescribable mix of emotions. Unlike previous trips to Kyoto to repair equipment, this time they were going home.
