Chapter 82 Human Bones Discovered

Du Yuhan was startled when she suddenly saw a skull. They were almost out of the mountains; how could there be a skull? Had someone been eaten by a wild animal?

Du Yuhan examined the area closely and discovered that there were not only skulls but also other human bones.

With a bold move, Du Yuhan used a stick to part the surrounding grass, revealing many white bones peeking out from the ground. She even saw several skulls.

Du Yuhan frowned as she looked around, becoming more and more shocked.

If there were only one human skeleton here, it might be someone who accidentally encountered a wild beast while hiking in the mountains and was eaten by it. But the fact that so many human skeletons have been found together makes one wonder.

Looking at the situation before her, Du Yuhan had no idea how many people were still buried underground. These people must have been buried here haphazardly. Under what circumstances could this situation have occurred?

She saw a skull with a hole in it, and inside the skull was a bullet. It seemed that the person had been shot and buried there.

Du Yuhan frowned, considering the possible scenarios. Could it be something that happened during the invasion of their country by the R country?

These people were very likely massacred by Japanese people and then carelessly buried here. They weren't buried very deep to begin with, and over time the human bones were exposed. So, under what circumstances were so many people massacred together?

Du Yuhan also saw a pickaxe and a shovel next to the human bones. These tools were obviously used for digging and construction.

Du Yuhan thought of a possibility: these people were likely captured to build some kind of project, and after the project was completed, the civilians who participated in the construction were killed to keep it a secret.

Given R country's ruthless ways of doing things, it is very likely.

Du Yuhan often saw scenes like this in later TV dramas: the R country invaders didn't treat the Z country people as human beings, they captured Z country people to build secret fortifications, and after the fortifications were completed, they killed those people to keep it a secret.

The scene in the TV series seems very similar to the current situation. Could there be some secret fortifications left by the R country nearby? Otherwise, why would someone carry a pickaxe around like that? It's very likely that the structure is nearby.

Du Yuhan's heart was beating a little fast. This place wasn't far from the border, so it was very likely that there were things left behind by the R country.

Du Yuhan wasn't in a hurry to leave. She wanted to explore the area; perhaps she would find something unexpected.

Du Yuhan's space contains many instruments, many of which are the most advanced instruments of the 21st century.

Du Yuhan took out a metal detector from her spatial storage, which can accurately detect the presence of certain metallic substances within a certain range.

After Du Yuhan turned on the detector and set it up, she found that it immediately responded. However, the detector displayed the pickaxes and shovels she had seen.

Du Yuhan began to probe the surroundings little by little, but after moving a certain distance away from the pickaxe and shovel, the detector stopped responding.

Du Yuhan continued to probe the area, gradually increasing the probe range.

However, a day passed and Du Yuhan did not notice anything unusual within a one-kilometer radius.

Du Yuhan wondered to herself, "Could I have been mistaken? Is there no secret here?"

Undeterred, Du Yuhan expanded the scope of her investigation.

It was getting dark, and just as Du Yuhan was about to give up, the detector suddenly reacted.

Du Yuhan's spirits lifted immediately. Following the detector's display, she discovered a small cave entrance. The cave was hidden by weeds and bushes, making it difficult for the average person to find.

Du Yuhan pushed aside the weeds and bushes, ducked into the cave, and turned on a powerful flashlight to shine inside.

The cave you see as soon as you enter is not large; in fact, it is quite narrow, only wide enough for two people to walk side by side. It is like a passageway that extends all the way in.

The cave walls showed no signs of artificial carving; everything looked natural, and there was nothing unusual about it, just like an ordinary cave.

Du Yuhan didn't know if there would be anything inside the cave, but she would just go in and explore.

With a flashlight in hand, Du Yuhan bravely ventured inside. After passing through a narrow cave that resembled a passageway, the interior suddenly opened up into a relatively large cave, several tens of square meters in size.

Du Yuhan searched the cave with a flashlight but found nothing unusual. There were only rocks and no traces of human intervention.

But after carefully examining the area with a flashlight, Du Yuhan discovered signs of human intervention. However, this place might have been deliberately arranged to make it look natural, like a natural cave, so that no one would discover any secrets within.

Du Yuhan's heart was pounding; perhaps something huge was about to happen to her.

She took out the detector again, and this time the detector reacted even more strongly, indicating that this place was not as simple as it seemed on the surface.

Based on the detector's readings, Du Yuhan arrived at a wall in the cave. Holding a flashlight, she examined and touched the wall, finding it uneven and pitted, just like a natural cave wall, nothing special.

Undeterred, Du Yuhan carefully examined and felt around the wall, but still found nothing. She then squatted down and carefully felt around on the ground, digging into the soil.

Finally, she found something smooth to the touch on the ground in a cave, right next to the wall.

Feeling the texture in her hands, Du Yuhan was overjoyed. She took out a small shovel used for planting flowers and carefully loosened the soil little by little. Then she swept away the loose soil with a broom, finally revealing a disc-shaped object.

The disc is made of metal, and at its center is a smaller disc embedded inside. The smaller disc is not flat; it has two grooves on it.

Du Yuhan put a few fingers into the groove, and with a little force, the small disc started to spin. After twisting it a few times, the small disc came off; it turned out to be a lid.

Underneath the round cover was a metal ring, and something seemed to be connected to the bottom of the metal ring.

Du Yuhan held the metal ring and turned it around, but there was no reaction. She pulled it harder, and suddenly the metal ring was pulled up, revealing an iron chain attached to its bottom.

As the metal ring was pulled up, sounds came from inside the cave. It was a rumbling sound. To Du Yuhan's right front, the cave wall began to move, and after a short while, the moving wall stopped, revealing an iron door behind it.

The iron gate was locked with a large padlock. As soon as Du Yuhan saw the padlock, she took out a master key and other tools from her spatial storage and easily opened it.

After removing the large lock, Du Yuhan pushed open the heavy metal door and explored the entrance with a flashlight.
